fun fact the japanese version has no voice acting and instead of a ring that lets you see invisible items it gives you a haste ring to let you sprint faster. this also implies that the voice acting may have been a laster minute scramble for western attention cuz a lot of games in the west tried voice acting at least a little during that time period. Fun fact 2: if you don't buy your sword back you can get it back for free when the village get's jrpg'd Fun fact 3: This game shares a composer with elden ring you can hear improvement in his art. Fun fact 4: Ring of sacrifice is clearly a callback with dark souls to this game Fun fact 5: Golden seed was here first then in eternal ring. Fun fact 6: Day night cycle is literally only used to steal something from a guy unless those time of (element here) actually effects your spells or enemy power.

Man. I remember wanting to play this so badly as a young lad. I got one of those gaming magazines which really hammed it up. Had a literal entire list of the rings available in the game. I wish Fromsoft would do a remake of this one. I can only imagine what they could do with this concept with the strides they've made in game design at this point.
unbelievable how wholesome that ending was. it was very rough, esp the VAs, but man i felt warm hearing what Cain did after saving his kingdom the 1 person at fromsoft mustve pushed really hard for a good end like this XD
Next time someone tries to tell me that Demon's Souls is part of the same series as the Dark Souls trilogy, I'm going to tell them that Elden Ring is a sequel to Eternal Ring.
Melee combat makes a comeback lategame with the animated sword spell it just removes the cooldown on melee attacks(and makes you hit four times in succession). Just a little tidbit. Also sword rings the strength increasing ones are actually craftable by mixing light and dark with other elements it's those dual element rings again effectively. Also the game implies with the get through before nigthfall the fact you start in the time of fire and the enemies are water is that the time based system may determine enemy power but im not sure.
I remember playing this as a little kid and getting stuck after the first cave. Kept talking to the fisherman over and over and eventually dropped it forever. Had no idea this was a FromSoftware game until recently lol
