"Why is a herb in a chest?" If I had to guess, maybe the developers thought the player wouldn't understand that the herbs on the ground were actual items, and instead mistook them for static decoration. So, finding one in a chest helps confirm it's an item, and this encourages players to identify the ones on the ground as such, and perhaps attempt to pick them up, discovering that they can.

Not sure why the localization team tried to be funny in this specific title, but not the previous game. I think they were both done by ASCII? I would actually love to see more direct translations of the dialog, even if it won't be as revealing as any of the Souls titles. And this reminds me, actually, when I was ripping the audio files out of the original Shadow Tower, alongside the boss dialogs, there were several lines of untranslated Japanese in what sounds like a voiced character. The subtitles entries in the same spots as this dialog are blank files, so can't translate that. Surprised I've never seen anyone talk about it. There is other cut content in Shadow Tower as well.

@@BlinJe You're welcome! I replied once earlier but UA-cam autodeleted the comment because of a link (I assume). I basically said I'm pretty sure a magic only run would be impossible in Pilot Style, but you could take some inspiration from RetroAchievements in terms of challenges. I really like Pilot Style and most videos I've seen of King's Field completely overlook it. If you haven't played it before, I hope you like it! It's such a unique little slice of King's Field, with its own story and little area to explore. Be sure to grab the English patch!
Upon further investigation, a magic only run is definitely possible, but tedious and it relies on getting the end boss to take friendly fire damage from a stone face that's shooting fireballs.
A magic-only run of the ancient city would be excellent. I don't think you'd be able to manage it with Shadow Tower, as much as I love that game. Though, with no respawning enemies (only mysterious spawning triggers), perhaps it is possible. Painful, I could only imagine that. ST:A probably has more interesting challenge run material (no gun run, haha). As for Eternal Ring without magic, that would work, but perhaps underpowered. Though a shame, the best weapon, and the attack speed ring, are locked behind a door that requires magic to open.
Yeah Pilot Style is a little tech demo released i don't know where, before KF3. it serves as a kind of prequel, I guess. You play as captain silviera before the events of KF3. I haven't played it!
So it does take a while but you can get max light spell orladin at that fountain at level one if you stand there long enough tailoring "light" to select and constantly casting it over and over. You can max your light magic out and really mop the floor at low level magic only in that game. Theres also a magicians key at lake Noel you can get before going to the cave of shudom. Also all 5 peices of promeus armor make you immune to physical attacks for magic runs. I could tell you so much crazy stuff about this game.
Rewatching this is a real treat. This isn't just a challenge run video. You go in-depth into the lore of the trilogy, picking up on subtle details that even those the games are familiar to have missed. This is probably the first video footage of Leon's demise, an easily missed event. Lore, mechanics, humor, and even translation quirks are all expertly examined. Amazing how dated that fall guys joke is now though 😆
29:13 how do you get that second accesory from the friendly mob? I only got the golden ring. And what does the golden ring do? It doesnt do anything afaik so its safe to sell? Exellent challenge run by the way. Very usefull strategies for a good headstart playing normally too.
Golden ring protects against paralysis. it's pretty shit yeah, you can sell it. I think he gives you more stuff when you come back to him later? I've forgotten already o_o
I got it. Its called evil ring and it has no description of what it does but does drain your health. How to get it? Not sure. Could be walking all the paths of the water wheel, killing lot of mobs in the area, spending time in the area or being lvl 26 or higher. Will update if i learn a benefit for the evil ring. Curse the translators of this game. Wish from made a proper remaster of these games with qol changes, redone translation and maybe some graphical updates like unique textures for various doors and such.

@@BlinJe funny thing is its not that great anyway. If it DID drop there it would be the best weapon you would have until Triple Fang and would outclass the Flame sword a ton as it does a lot of fire damage.

question: what's with this pilot style king's field game i keep hearing about.
Amazing how dated that fall guys joke is now though 😆
mate I just.. genuinely love fall guys.
I didn't even know that Leon had died. That hit hard seeing what became of him.
@@BlinJe and what does the other accessory do? And whats it called? I want to rub him out for the flask and move on but he wont give the second item.
@@mirrorblade6268 Well From don't remaster anything. Namco/Sony farm it out to different studios. DS remastered was full of problems and done by some no-name polish studio. even DeS remake had things about it that I don't like.
anyway:
this guide is good. www.neoseeker.com/kings-field-ii/faqs/182627-a.html
Thanks. Yes maybe they should make a new one instead.
Hey Blinge! Thanks again for your good videos. For the normal King's Field playthrough (and I also hope AC!) that you hinted, would you consider to record them in the 4:3 format like you did for the melee challenge of Acrmored Core? Thanks anyway.
33 min in the vid gotta say i Love it watchin the others after
Wow! Amazing game. The story might be generic, but the dungeon crawling, the exploration and the spells are pretty cool, for PS1.
Generic maybe but it builds on lore from the previous two games to make an epic conclusion to the trilogy
18:50 por que diabos tem escrito "Vento Verde" em português? KKKKKKKKKKK
hahah. I was thinking Italian. but if it's Portuguese? é bom tambem..
also JoJo part 5 is called Vento Aureo
I like these can you beat video series keep them coming
Yes mate. Video after next
When I saw the water mage part I couldn't help but wonder why I. Hear. A. Sound.
Lyle (Your guy in KF3) is the son of King Alfred (KF1's protagonist).
oh boy, oh yes
i swear fromsoft likes reusing some names.
Priscillla seath hmmm.
how do you restore magic points?
Moon stone consumable, dragon tree fruit, or golden restore fountains. there's 3 in the game.
Gods punishment for wasted seed.
Jesus christ. 12/10.
Ahaha.
Justice for my boy Onan
this owns
This was the game that I bought my first Playstation for.
This is really taking me back... love your narration, Mr. Narrator!
What would you have said the spider boss in the path of poison happened to have dropped the Spider sword, which has like a 0.0001% chance? I would have been furious lol. I have spent way too many hours farming for that thing late game.
haha well i'm glad it didn't drop for me then. I don't want survival guilt!
@@BlinJe funny thing is its not that great anyway. If it DID drop there it would be the best weapon you would have until Triple Fang and would outclass the Flame sword a ton as it does a lot of fire damage.
My god Blinge, did you record that final monologue closing the good ending?! 😂 It sounds like you taking the piss
Noo! I promise that is the actual game!
I admire the effort, and as a Dark Souls (1) and Elden Ring enjoyer, it's part of From software's history but... These game are shit and totally unfair.
I bought this when I was a teenager for my PSX, and imagine my deception and frustration; especially after playing the Metal Gear Solid demo and Soul Reaver demo from one of the cool disks Sony added as a sampler.
My entire month was ruined.
I think I broke it out of frustration (yeah anger management issues) .
But your video was good and well done 👍🏼
New sub looking forward to new content.
Keep up the good work
My guy.
Try again with adult eyes, these games are fair and easier than any souls
I like the sound of this house of a thousand traps 🤔
Stay safe brother, remember protection ;)
@@BlinJe play EverGrace 1+2 fam
i mean... now that some time has passed.. you should complete the series hit 4 and the side games!
What do you mean? Like.. all at once?
F in chat for Lyn.
Poor Mel Morris omg

Impressive!
You think it's possible to beat kf 3: pilot style without melee?
It would be a nice bonus
You're the only person besides myself ive seen use the level 2 sword magic.
I hate the timing man!
