7:06 Just a couple of things about this general "Disney acting strange with licensing" section 1. I find it very hard to believe that Disney would opt out of advertising their cartoons to the largest audience in the gaming sphere at no cost to themselves. I assume that, once the Smash legal team was able to haggle Sora for a reasonable amount of money, they decided to not even bother attempting to license hard Disney properties due to the insane cost that it would take. Disney is not the kind of company to straight up refuse to place their IP on certain things for incredibly dumb reasons. The most likely answer is that their shit just costs far too much to license. They could obviously had just given Smash the rights for free, but its Disney, so its not going to happen. Keep in mind that Disney and Nintendo have a very 'cold' relationship at the moment. As such, licensing between the two would be incredibly taxing due to both parties wanting to get the 'better deal.' Contrasting this is Nintendo's relationship with Bandai Namco or SNK. These companies already have steady business relationships with Nintendo, so their immediate goal when licensing material isn't immediate profit. 2. Licensing isn't as simple as just two companies giving each other a thumbs up. A legal agreement (typically following a good couple months of intense legal discussions and bargaining) must be drafted to license the material. Furthermore, its not like a license gives the receiving company free reign to use the IP in every single field that it operates in. An IP license (at least one made by gigantozoid companies like Disney) is typically very strict about what can be made with them. A license to put Mickey Mouse on a lunchbox doesn't mean you get to put Mickey Mouse on a backpack. The coasters were likely the idea of the cafe managers, who I assume had basically no power to request any alterations to the license to include the coasters. The pin badges and posters for sale in the cafes were clearly a more involved portion of the collaboration between Square Enix and Disney, so they could have the Disney characters on them. Why would Disney would allow their stuff to be used on pin badges and posters, but then arbitrarily draw the line at coasters? In short, Disney's licensing decisions aren't petty, stingy, or nonsensical. They're just trying to squeeze as much money out of everything as humanly possible.
There's one more fact about Sora that you don't know about, if you have Sora holding a Killing Edge or a Photon Sword and do a forward Smash attack, he'll use it with a back hand a good reference to Ventus since he wields his Keyblade back handed
"The artwork in the background of a super smash bros stage comes from a coaster" ... KINGDOM HEARTS! HOW CAN YOU BE MORE CONFUSING THAT YOU ALREADY ARE?
If I recall, Sora's Station of Awakening with the raft and the fruit was also used in the KH concert. I find it neat that the Inklings match the player colors, albeit out of order and red swapped with magenta probably because Splatoon doesn't have red ink and red ink wouldn't look very pg. And I'm surprised the Inkling's ink makes Timeless River Sora's face disappear since those usually at least keeps the eyes of the characters affected, but there's probably some weird quirk with that skin. I need to see though if TR Sora has glowing eyes for Final Smashes or parries
@@codytoeung5089 right because for most it's still actual eyes. Timeless river sora is based around animation of early disney, you know, when it's all INK, that's why it to begin with doesn't have modelled eyes or faces
Inkling can also change the color of a Kirby attack depending on a character slot even if it's kinda different because you don't actually choose the color
I think the reason Disney did not allow Donald and Goofy in Smash is because they are not video games characters. They originated from a cartoon and Sakurai mention that smash is a celebration of video game icon. If they added in smash then people will say "How come they allowed Donald and Goofy but not Goku" also that will break one of Sakurai rule.
Is different because they could appear but not be playable, peope want Goku as a playabe character, if they appear in images is fine as long as they are not playable it still is inside the rules, besides the source would came from the games.

Both Disney and Squenix are notoriously difficult to work with when it comes to their own properties, so it's nothing short of a miracle that Sora ever made it into Smash. Ironically, it was Nintendo, the absolute strictest company of all in terms of copyright and IP protection, that made it possible. I dunno if this is a case of rivals overcoming boundaries together, or three bulls running against the same brick wall.
I'd imagine stage hazards would also encompass any visual distractions, since in competitive matches, even the smallest thing could throw you off your game.
Which is kind of weird since Final Destination, supposedly every competitive player's favorite stage, has some REALLY wild background animations happening in both Smash 4 and Ultimate that you'd think would be just as distracting as Hollow Bastion's thing.
@@MawileMage I'll admit, I don't have much knowledge about Ultimate (Hopefully I'll get a Switch someday) so I didn't take that into consideration. Still an interesting crackpot theory in my opinion.
One minor correction, which you may be aware of since this video is a couple years old now: there is one of their things directly owned by Disney in the game, which is Sora himself. A big part of why Sora is going to be the star of KH4 is that Disney mandated it, even though Tetsuya Nomura wanted to create a new character to take his place.
If you hold the button after the first charge of sonic blade, sora will *lock-on* to the opponent and will charge towards them, hence the name *lock-on*
I’m glad that FF7R got some representation in the form of Sephiroth’s tiny arrow having the same scheme as the FF7R UI for blade dash/Octaslash. Granted, it’s a VERY minor inclusion, but it’s something.
Hey remember about inaccurate character portraits? I found one in Melee with red Bowser. The portrait shows red Bowser having red eyes but in-game they're actually blue. Strange isn't it?
PJiggles could post an image of random people on Twitter, and in less than an hour someone would figure out that what they share in common is they all have the same favorite food.

the kingdom hearts franchise is owned by Disney and that included all original characters, keyblades and worlds, also, the reason why mickey, donald and goofy weren't allowed in smash is because they do not originate from video games and sakurai himself said characters that do not originate from video games are not allowed to be in smash, that includes video game versions of non-video game characters

I agree. They went through an unnecessary amount of minute detail to break our poor PJiggles. Also, someone else who also doesn't like Sora? I'm actually not alone in that sentiment?
the weirdest part about the disney scrub is that disney owns the kingdom hearts ip. like, kingdom hearts original characters ARE disney characters. i guess disney just lets square enix kinda do whatever with them but i remember hearing that disney’s been super down to include sora in smash for a while now so idk why they want all the references to donald goofy and mickey removed
I've got one where you have to find what characters have alike: Joker, Pikachu, Toon link, Mewtwo, Marth, Lucina, Sephiroth, Young link, Greninja, Roy, Chrom, Kirby, Shulk, Sonic, Pichu, Snake, Ness, Link, Sheik, Rosalina & luma, and Jigglypuff.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the scrubbing of Mickey, Donald and Goofy wasn't ENTIRELY Disney's mandate: Sakurai has stated that characters with origins outside of gaming are never going to be a part of Smash. And I guess Dracula KINDA flouts that rule, but clearly Disney's flagship characters are a different beast than Bram Stoker literature.
My theory about the Disney characters not on the coasters yet being on the pins might be because Disney didn’t want their characters associated with Alcohol. But that’s just my theory anyway
Assists triggering the Stamina Easter Egg makes sense, since your party members in KH can theoretically land the killing blow... At which point the same effect occurs. Team members not triggering it, or the pitch-shifting based on size, are oddities though.
The fact that Pokémon or Assists can also trigger the special stamina transition for Sora is not strange to me, because this references the summoning ability Sora has in the Kingdom Hearts games. It’s basically the same thing, but with gaming IPs instead of Disney-owned IPs. It would be cool if a teammate could trigger it as a reference to partners, except in most games, the final blow to a boss can only be landed by the player. In Kingdom Hearts II, it was either a magic spell or the end of a combo that dealt the final blow. The rest would do nothing, and King Mickey can’t kill a boss. It has to be Sora. In CoM, Cloud was a usable summon, so it would be cool to homage that. Finishing Ursula with Cloud is still the most batshit crazy thing ever.
A useless fun fact here, Hollow Bastion itself in the Kingdom hearts universe is the world where the FF7 characters come from, so Cloud and Sephiroth have 3 stages instead of 2 by technicality.
That moment when Kingston Hearts' real life lore is just as complicated as the lore ingame. Not complaining, really interesting stuff. Could listen about coasters for hours.

The arrow specifically looks like the movement arrows that appear when you need to move over something that doesn’t involve the normal walking animation, like jumping over something, walking over a tightrope, etc.
7:06 Just a couple of things about this general "Disney acting strange with licensing" section
5:07 Ok I have never seen that clock before and my dumbass thought Sora was holding a Sniper Rifle
The funny thing about the clock is that you can buy it as a normal sized wall clock with all the Disney imagery intact.
>buy kingdom Hearts wall clock
>use it as a coaster
Take that, Disney!
The origin behind the Dive to the Heart artwork in Smash is almost as complicated as the plot to the Kingdom Hearts games
There's one more fact about Sora that you don't know about, if you have Sora holding a Killing Edge or a Photon Sword and do a forward Smash attack, he'll use it with a back hand a good reference to Ventus since he wields his Keyblade back handed
The stage trivia, is as confusing as the actual kindom heart's game
"The artwork in the background of a super smash bros stage comes from a coaster"
... KINGDOM HEARTS! HOW CAN YOU BE MORE CONFUSING THAT YOU ALREADY ARE?
Whenever PJiggles uploads it's always a momentous occasion
Froggy chair
FROGGY CHAIR
Didn't he already upload this video? Or maybe Im misremembering
your use of rhythm heaven music triggers my fight or flight. remix 9 got me tapping my screen like a ds
4:20 PJiggles:*Says the name of the total new character Sakurai must’ve made up.*
Me:I know what I must do.
I need to see though if TR Sora has glowing eyes for Final Smashes or parries
the face models are basically planes with textures, rather than modelled
@@stanzacosmi though the eyes still show up for the ink for all characters from what I know
@@codytoeung5089 right because for most it's still actual eyes. Timeless river sora is based around animation of early disney, you know, when it's all INK, that's why it to begin with doesn't have modelled eyes or faces
"Cause of death: kingdom hearts" is one of the most relatable things I've ever seen in a pjiggles video
Pjiggles: i swear to god this is going to give me a mental breakdown
Me who play kingdom heart: you'll get use to it
Inkling can also change the color of a Kirby attack depending on a character slot even if it's kinda different because you don't actually choose the color
@@DarkHeartTheEmo You have forgot to mention Spongebob Squarepants, the most wanted playable Character.
@@spongefan6170 There is a Nickelodeon game that is like Smash do you want to play Spongebob in a game like Smash I think that game have him, although that game isn't as good as SSBU.
16:39 actually the side special only automatically attacks if you press B before the second and third attack start, if you just press B once, you can control the direction of the second and third one regardless of the opponent(s) near you
Both Disney and Squenix are notoriously difficult to work with when it comes to their own properties, so it's nothing short of a miracle that Sora ever made it into Smash.
Ironically, it was Nintendo, the absolute strictest company of all in terms of copyright and IP protection, that made it possible. I dunno if this is a case of rivals overcoming boundaries together, or three bulls running against the same brick wall.
This was my favourite "what do they have in common?" yet. Wild how many good ones hide in this game's design.
"PJiggles: Died of Kingdom Hears."
Man, just wait until you hear about how many of the exact same guy appear to fight you in the third game.
I love that Kingdom Hearts merchandise and Smash representation is almost as needlessly complicated as Kingdom Hearts itself.
I never thought I’d see coasters being use in fricking Super Smash Brothers 💀
“I swear this is going to give me a mental breakdown.”
Welcome to the world of Kingdom Hearts
The fact that Delfino Plaza takes a minimum of 6 minutes to complete exploring 8/9 of the landable areas in Delfino Plaza, is a useless fact.
PJiggles's wonderful world of talking about coasters, mouses, and corporations being overly protective of their ips for no reason
9:21 THIS MADE ME LAUGH SO F*CKING HARD! 😂
In signature Kingdom Hearts fashion, some things are exceedingly confusing (dive to the heart portraits in this case)
9:20 Kingdom Hearts makes yet another one bite the dust.
If you hold the button after the first charge of sonic blade, sora will *lock-on* to the opponent and will charge towards them, hence the name *lock-on*
Literally popping off at the Rhythm Heaven music
I’m glad that FF7R got some representation in the form of Sephiroth’s tiny arrow having the same scheme as the FF7R UI for blade dash/Octaslash. Granted, it’s a VERY minor inclusion, but it’s something.
Love how majority of the confusion is from Disney effing around for no reason XD.
I kinda assumed the added license to likenesses of donald, goofy and mickey wasn't worth the cost and would only further the complications of deals
Maybe they where planning on doing it but since the discussion had taken so long they just gave up and agreed with the conditions
9:22 Rest in Piece Pjiggles you will be remembered
Sora is in smash.
Cue the flying pigs.
Of course the Kingdom Hearts stage has some ridiculous origins. Like the app that is canon to KH3
Hey remember about inaccurate character portraits? I found one in Melee with red Bowser. The portrait shows red Bowser having red eyes but in-game they're actually blue. Strange isn't it?
STILL FEELS like a dream come true to this day
Luv Dix also here sick
Holy shit papa johns youtubr channel
Yooo I love the rhythm heaven music playing in the background
The confusion surrounding the Kingdom Hearts coasters is a very similar experience to trying to understand the Kingdom Hearts plotline.
That coaster fact was a wild journey thank you for suffering that research for such an interesting useless fact
PJiggles could post an image of random people on Twitter, and in less than an hour someone would figure out that what they share in common is they all have the same favorite food.
Makes sense that there'd be confusing facts on a video mainly about Kingdom Hearts.
16:37 small correction, your distance doesn't determine if it'll target the opponent. In order to target the opponent you need to be close enough to them *and* be holding down the b button. Otherwise, you'll go in the direction of the joy stick
the kingdom hearts franchise is owned by Disney and that included all original characters, keyblades and worlds, also, the reason why mickey, donald and goofy weren't allowed in smash is because they do not originate from video games and sakurai himself said characters that do not originate from video games are not allowed to be in smash, that includes video game versions of non-video game characters
Today's episode: PJiggles gets his first taste for how absolutely confusing and convoluted the kingdom hearts franchise is
I don’t even like Kingdom Hearts or Sora and I was impressed with the amount of love and detail they brought to him in smash. But seriously PJiggles are you okay dude? That must have taken you forever to track down each of the murals for Sora. I hope people appreciate you’re sacrifice that you made for f***ing coasters
Loved all of the Rhythm Heaven music dude
Didn’t know I missed 90 episodes of Useless Smash Facts.
OH MY GOD EVERY SINGLE MUSIC CHOSEN FOR THE VIDEO IS A RHYTHM HEAVEN MUSIC I LOVE YOU
I've got one where you have to find what characters have alike: Joker, Pikachu, Toon link, Mewtwo, Marth, Lucina, Sephiroth, Young link, Greninja, Roy, Chrom, Kirby, Shulk, Sonic, Pichu, Snake, Ness, Link, Sheik, Rosalina & luma, and Jigglypuff.
Did you see the one I posted? Mine also mentions Joker, Lucina, Chrom, and Shulk
always remember kids, there as no such thing as "too weird to be true" in kingdom hearts.
I’m just vibing to the Rhythm Heaven music ngl
3:25 Donald and Goofy: “This is where We watched Sora die, PJiggles.”
I currently have the game ordered on Amazon
Shit
@@aero253 are you calling me that cause I spoiled it or are you saying that cause you regret ordering it?
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the scrubbing of Mickey, Donald and Goofy wasn't ENTIRELY Disney's mandate: Sakurai has stated that characters with origins outside of gaming are never going to be a part of Smash. And I guess Dracula KINDA flouts that rule, but clearly Disney's flagship characters are a different beast than Bram Stoker literature.
The Castlevania Dracula has pretty much become his own thing, I think. He's got his own independent lore and all.
"I play Kingdom Hearts"
"What does that mean?"
"It means he's afraid of coasters"
"Coffee stain on the table!"
"Stop it Patrick, you're scaring him!"
Nachtflügel is start playing.
"Why do I hear boss music?"
To clarify: Disney's business practices are just as confusing as the Kingdom Hearts series that they helped create.
Sounds about right
Sora's shoes could've been their own character. They're that big.
Couldn't stop myself from laughing at the kingdom hearts coaster stuff, completely absurd
Sora tecnically uses Peter Pan's fairy power in his second jump
So there are 2 Disney references.
But this move is a gameplay thing, so still counts as a Kingdom Hearts thing.
He doesn't 🤔
Sora has two abilities called High Jump and Doubleflight. Could be either of those
A useless fun fact here, Hollow Bastion itself in the Kingdom hearts universe is the world where the FF7 characters come from, so Cloud and Sephiroth have 3 stages instead of 2 by technicality.
the stained glass/clock/COASTER fact is the magnum opus of this series
That moment when Kingston Hearts' real life lore is just as complicated as the lore ingame.
Not complaining, really interesting stuff. Could listen about coasters for hours.
Another little-known useless fact: Ryu and Ken have their own unique perfect shield sound effect!
i love that all the music is rhythm heaven
here's a useless fact! if you hold snakes grenade and let it explode with some form of invincibility, he will keep his idle stance as if he were still holding it. he will also attempt to throw air after you let go of the speical button.
Edit: Kirby can slo replicate this.
