1: Learn how to say - NO
2: Be unavailable and have a life
    3: Only reward respect
    4: Only believe consistency
5: Be willing to walk away.
Thank you Kev. My daddy never affirmed my worth to me regarding this. He just said "Never depend on a man..*

This happened to me recently where I was talking to a guy for a couple of months. We talked otp and stayed in constant communication. Now mind you this was a guy who pursued me for years! I finally gave him a chance. I started to like him but it was a always a flop when it was time for us to see each other then... He started to get distant. I didn't chase him nor blew him up. I BLOCKED HIM! He's been trying to win me back over every sense. I've detached and have been physically and emotionally unavailable. Immature men LOVE the chase and want what they can't have anymore... remember that ladies🥰

yeah I've met guys who acted all tough then acted like the woman expecting me to give chase..... to this day they still act like I did something wrong in not chasing. I'm a woman, we don't chase. They never bother to find out who you are then project.

Even though my family was dysfunctional, my father did make sure to teach me that I should never depend on a man. Men are people, too, and there is only so much that men can do. Women aren't helpless, so a little bit of independence and understanding of teamwork goes a long way.
If a man doesn't respect you from the beginning before you do anything, then he is likely not a kind person and possibly lacks empathy. Chances are high that he is so disagreeable (approaching psychopathy or sociopathy) that he might be the kind of guy you want to run far away from. Someone who starts by insulting you is very likely insecure and wants to hurt your self esteem and confidence to feel better about himself. There's no good way to deal with that except to walk away from that sort of abuser.

Thank you Kev. This was the video my mind needed to hear. My mind was being invaded by a man that was sending mixed signals. I wanted to toss him out of it, but he’d breadcrumb me just enough to keep the illusion up. I’ve increased watching your videos and they’ve slowly weaned me of of him invading my head or me dropping everything to happily answer a call or text from him.
I was in that questioning phase of how to just show him that I’m no longer someone that will be at his beckon call. This video put the nail in that coffin 🖤💙🙌🏾🎉

  • @soyouwantagodlywoman3418
    @soyouwantagodlywoman3418 Рік тому +5

Agreed. I've been alone almost 6 years after leaving an abusive marriage and delivering my kids as well. But honestly, my own word and belief in the vows of marriage kept me in the marriage so long. A guilt of sorts that I made my bed and I had to lie in it. I'm a person of my word. What I failed to acknowledge was in marriage... one person of integrity or of their word does NOT create a safe home. After I realized my children would be safer without their father, I called the police (after he crossed a physical abusive line with me for standing up for them). My son was 19 and chose not to cut his father out of his life. My daughter was 15 and wanted an Order of Protection herself. I have honored each of their wishes without violating mine or my daughter's Order of Protection.
It ain't easy. It's one of the most difficult things I've ever done. But it's worth it!

Women have been taught to not have self worth and to abandon themselves and men have been taught to be solely ego driven. These both are responses to Complex PTSD. CPTSD isn't mentioned on A LOT of dating platforms, even though that is what is largely attributing to dysfunctional relationships in adulthood. If you grew up in America, under socioeconomic stress, you undoubtedly have untreated CPTSD. This is what really needs to be addressed. Heal the core inner child wounds, be real with yourself and others, and realize we've all been lied to about attaining healthy relationships and behaving in healthy ways from both genders of any race.

A lot of the people pleasing things are about believing that the guy is building appreciation. This is not going to happen. Man are about attraction. I’m not just talking physical. I’m taking emotional attraction. All of it. It’s a very primal thing for a man to want a woman on many levels. But it starts with attraction. And a guy who’s attracted to you will feel a need to make you happy. He won’t be thinking “I love all the things she does for me.” He’ll be driven forward with “ I hope I’m doing enough for her. I hope I’m making her happy.” Embrace that knowledge. Know that No tells you which guys are more serious.

Kev thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your message has been invaluable helping me re-establish healthy boundaries in my relationship. The last thing you said about willing to walk away truly resonated. Being emotionally manipulated, constantly criticized, given the silent treatment, my phone always being monitored… I’ve ALLOWED these behaviors to escalate by not putting boundaries. I am taking accountability for putting myself into a bad situation that isn’t getting better. Being so forgiving.
Thank you for being so mature and helping me be a stronger person for myself and my daughter. 💛

I have been watching you for some time and was surprised about what I heard coming from the mouth of a young, african american, male, good-looking and youthful styled, well spoken and knowledgeable person. I think it surprised me and it is important for woment to see that not all good looking guys are charmers and that the truth does not have to come in a suit and tie and a doctor of some kind. I dont know if this was intentional but it really gives us hope that the sterotypes that we have about people is really all about our choices and our ability to communicate what we want. Fully participating, even if she's been physically abused, when she continues to stay and would rather risk her life by staying rather than leaving. It's time for problem ownership! Realize you have choices and you are making them whether you realize it or not. We may not want to hear it, but it takes too. Both people are ACTIVELY participating in holding the undesired reality in place. Until you face that and tell yourself that no one can let you down without your consent, you'll continue to replicate the mutation.
