When I first met the narc, he was on anxiety medication and had problems sleeping. With time he stopped taking the meds, as he was starting to feel better. Then I realized over time, that I was taking so much abuse, verbal abuse, name calling and belittling, that i was the reason that he didn’t need the medication and I now felt depressed and low and almost going on medication because of the trauma, anxiety and low moods I was feeling because of the relationship. His toxicity was transferred and I got sick, whilst he became better! They really are low vibrational beings that need supply to survive. They will do the same - they will never heal on their own. I am 6 months no contact and I won’t ever go back
Mine eventually started taking valium to control her anxiety she developed after she discarded me. Apparently valium can cause tinnitus. And it sure did in her case. "Financial ruin" after that.
I called out my NEX way too hard, leading to her gaining a new supply while we were still married, and then a brutal discard months later when i discovered her new relationship. She was so cruel and vindictive, pretty sure she wanted me to self destruct, maybe even commit suicide. Im not expecting any hoovers. What you have to realise is you are dealing with a child , a very dangerous one at that, it was when i finally realised that this person was totally irrational, that i became free.
I also believe that what can really make us I heal is that they a 9:45 re " not normally " thinking and behaving" and staying in the relation is accepting to be with an unhealthy phsycologically person. This is your best video on the topic. Here's why, maybe it will benefit someone. My ex-narcissist came back into my life some months after she discarded me, telling me I was the love of her life and that she cant imagine her life without me. Love bombing me with photos and videos of our past. Despite my strong feeling of wanting her back and at the same time knowing its not going to end well, I saw her. We spent the night together like it always was, passionate - I was her "puzzle piece". In the morning, when I questioned some of her decisions, I felt it, she was gone again. She was not there. When I asked her to just do our thing and stop with the BS, she needed time, "it will be a shame to let this go" etc .. Why I like this video is that it speaks to the fact that when they know you still care, and are not over it, and you entertain their reaching out, you're not such potent supply. Only when you move on, do you become that what they want. The other thing in the video is that it talks about our own validation needs. In a way, we (me in this case) want some validation that we are worthy, of this feeling, to love and feel loved in a moment even if it destroys us. She still texts, but I don't respond anymore. I called how my ex for trying to play me. Complete denial made me lash out in rage and say some nasty truths to her about herself. Sometimes I regret it and wish I just left when I saw what she was doing. Then of course switched it on me that I was the child and irrational one. Overly emotional. Whatever I’ll live with it.
The craziest thing about encountering a narcissist is its like a bad dream, but is very much real, they live in an alternate reality, a nightmare, and their nightmare crosses into your reality, into your mind, into your heart, they can even threaten your spirit, because they operate on pain, deceit, and sorrow. Being proximate to them injects this sorrow into you, in symbolic ways, in subconcious ways, in deep and strange ways. It's a profound experience, but not a good one, as they very much exist in a nightmare you yourself can imagine, but were never fully emerged in.
