Thank you. I used this knot to get more line on my spool. I had a really bad birds nest that used half of my line. I tied the new line and what was left on my spool together with this knot.
I knew there had to be something better than two uni-knots tied together! My grandson asks me why i use swivels? Because I never saw this knot. It can't get more simple for an old buzzard!! First two tries works great!! Thank you!
This is a very simple way to tie two lines together, but I thought I saw a comment that asked how do you perform the tying sequence when one line is attached to a reel, and the other line is wrapped around a spool that you plan to use to spool more line onto the reel once the two lines are tied together. At least that was the jist of it. I did this very thing this morning. I tied an almost empty spool of line to another spool of line, same type line, and wound one spool over to the other. I saw an answer to the above question in a reply to the original question, "make the loop large enough to wind line and spool together through the loop. That's what I did. It was a bit awkward, but I managed to do it. Not sure if I want to use line with a knot in it to spool a reel, but at least if push comes to shove, I have some line I can use.
Yeah I most often use this for tying tippet to leader on my fly line. If I tie two lines together on the spool, I’ll use a double uni or blood knot. This would work for that though.
You’d have to make the loop big enough to slip the reel or spool through. However, if you’re tying two lines on a reel and spool, I’d recommend using a blood knot, which we have a video of: ua-cam.com/video/DdVN1BLRWzI/v-deo.html With this knot you won’t have to thread your reel and spool through any loops.
@@The_X7n5y sure. Without knowing what line you're using, I use braid with a fluorocarbon leader quite a bit for bass. In those cases I'll use a double uni knot. That's another strong knot I feel very comfortable will hold with big bass.
More will make it stronger. Sometimes lighter lines will require a couple more twists or threads or whatever you want to call them to make it stronger. Most of them time 3 works for me. Can’t think of an instance of it ever breaking or slipping.
Only problem with this is if you have two very long lengths of line, be difficult threading a line thats 300ft three times through the loop. Anyone know any alternatives?
This is primarily if you’re tying a leader onto main line. If you’re tying two extremely long lines together, I’d suggest a double uni knot or a blood knot.

THANK YOU, I love it so Quick and Easy!!!!

Thank you so much I just got into fishing a few days ago and this really helped
Glad to hear it. Good luck out there!
Very simple. I used it to tie braid to a monofilament leader. It's been holding up fine.
Yes it is. Good knot.
Awesome and simple knot. thank you

You’re welcome! Hope it holds up when fighting a fish. I can’t think of a time when it’s ever failed me.
Exactly what I needed. Thanks! :)

What if one end of one line is attached to the reel and the end of the other line is the new full spool?
You’d have to make the loop big enough to slip the reel or spool through. cut what you need off of the spool ig🤷♂️
@@ShowMetheHawgsvideo is private 👎 😂 . How do to tie two lines together ? on one end you have 30 yards , same on the other ?
@@SkyNetGeneral- sorry. try this link instead ua-cam.com/video/Tjmazr4qdA4/v-deo.html
@@ShowMetheHawgs ok 👍 thnx
Put too much line on my rod, useful to use after I cut the line in two places to shorten it, I did that so I didn't have to rig my swivel up again,
Nice
Great knot, i been using it to tie good line to backing for years......save you ton of money using backing rather then 300 yards of premium line.
Is this knot as strong as Yucatán knot?
I’m not sure about strength comparison, but this knot has never broken on me.
but,,, what if you need to remove it!!?? do you cut it or use a needle loosen it up and undo the knot!!??🤔🤔🤔🤔
Cut it. Once it’s tight, there’s no undoing it.
Bro thanks I was replacing my fishing line but then it got tangled so I had to cut it off so thank you
You’re very welcome 👍
OMG THANKS BROOOO

@@ShowMetheHawgs I'll sub to ur channel ur awesome
how about when the two lines are long lines.
I’d suggest a double uni knot or a blood knot in that case.
Always do 4 not 3
Never had a problem with 3 but 4 will give it a little extra I suppose.
i cant get it down dude
Is it slipping when you tighten it? What’s up?
@@ShowMetheHawgsi was doing it wrong haha its easy the video was confusing me a bit😂
Line size?
I avoid significant differences in line diameter. If there is a significant difference, I’d use an Albright knot instead.
Will this knot be strong enough for bass?
Oh yeah I’ve caught plenty of big bass with this knot.
@@ShowMetheHawgs thanks, just wanted to make sure because I’ve tried other knots like this that have slipped through when I got bass.
@@The_X7n5y sure. Without knowing what line you're using, I use braid with a fluorocarbon leader quite a bit for bass. In those cases I'll use a double uni knot. That's another strong knot I feel very comfortable will hold with big bass.
just 3 will do? or, could it be stronger if I made it 5... just asking... ✌
More will make it stronger. Sometimes lighter lines will require a couple more twists or threads or whatever you want to call them to make it stronger. Most of them time 3 works for me. Can’t think of an instance of it ever breaking or slipping.
Save the hassle and just use a double uni
Double uni is good knot too

WTF DO YOU MEAN TWO LINES !!!
You take one line and another section of line (two lines) and you tie them together as demonstrated. 🤷🏻♂️
I didn’t work
Something aint right here!
Ok. What isn’t right?
How the heck is this supposed to work when the leader line is longer????
Worst knot I’ve ever used
Alrighty then
You js tied it wrong
weak knot
