everyone enjoys the game at their own pace :) I'd rather be able to put hours upon hours on the game a day rather than maybe 3 or so a day max waiting for resets. I actually like to PLAY the game rather than waiting a full day for buildings to be ready. Unlike most time travelers, I'm not even in april yet, I only time skipped for buildings to be completed or reset the time to AM\PM depending on which fish I needed. I will say I'm super hyped for cherry blossom trees but want them to come naturally so I'm slowing on time travel and waiting patiently for april :)
Twixxy I still play the game for a lot hours a day without time traveling. I have completely redesigned my island, moved all my trees, flowers, I do a lot of fishing and bug catching.i visit all my friends/family’s islands and we play games. You can play for several hours each day without time traveling. :)
If it helps, try just talking to Tom nook. He’ll give you advice on what you can do to improve the island. Doing nook miles will also help you lean about what kind of things you can do. Get the museum and fill the critterpedia as well as collecting fossils everyday to bring the museum to life. Talk to villagers too !
4:45 I have tried multiple times to plant 99k bells as a tree. The maximum return has only been 10k ×3. This is kind of important information, that no one seems to be talking about. Don't plant more then 10k bells!! *(unless there is a trick I don't know to get bigger results.)
Someone posted a thread on reddit about a method of getting a larger return after the first three trees. I’m not 100% sure what it said, but it is possible to get more than 10kx3
Hi, I don’t know what I did exactly, but my first money tree had three 30k bells. I don’t time travel or anything and it was my first one with bells. I don’t remember exactly how much I initially put in.
another tip, (sorry if its been mentioned a lot already) you can find two pieces of furniture per day by shaking trees on your island (and on the nook miles islands as well but I think you can only find one piece per island). however before you go shaking all your trees, equip a net so if a wasps nest falls out you'll be ready to catch the wasps. oh and also, when you go to a nook miles island, be sure to keep an eye out for a dig spot, theres usually one per island and they contain a fossil. be sure to check the beach area as well for a washed up diy recipe. these don't appear on every island though.
It would be much of a QoL feature if we could directly use resources from our home storage when we are doing DIY/crafting in our own home, this way we don't have to always be caring a few inventory spaces of materials around.
THIS. I don't understand what the point of having a home inventory is if you can't just use it while crafting inside the house. It's so annoying to go into the inventory and take what you need. It would be easier to just leave it on the floor.
@@boredmonkee This. It's the only tool with an upgrade besides durability though. Also, mine hasn't broken yet after upgrading, but I also don't use it at all so I can't confirm anything.
@@alexsxvz There are a few reasons. •It's a spin off game, that is not worthy of the Animal Crossing brand name. JUST like Pocket Lint, on the smart phones. •It was a bad game that required amiibo in the worst way implemented to date. •It was rushed out, and to this day still has bugs that never were fixed. •To get any value out of the game, you had to invest quite a lot of money into amiibo Figures and cards, which ONLY because of the Welcome Amiibo update to New Leaf gained a reasonable value. *(and only after Smash Ultimate did the Isabelle amiibo have a great value.) •I am an Animal Crossing fan, I purchased the game on Clearance for $5, and felt ripped off. *(again only later the amiibo packed in began to show value by content in other games.) TL:DR Amiibo Festival is the first major stain on the Animal Crossing franchise, and is best forgotten entirely. It will never see a Switch port, and that is a good thing.
When you dig a hole and jump in it from the other side of a river it acts like a pitfall in older versions....(accidents happened for this discovery....)
I am currently playing Animal Crossing with all of my immediate family. I am an Animal Crossing Vet. I figured most of these out on my own but I needed a video to send to my mom, dad, and little sisters since this is the first time they’ve ever played and there is just so much information that isn’t given to you straight out. Thank you for making the game a bit more accessible for my family. 😊
I'm not. Seems like there's too much to do. I don't have time to shake/smack every tree for resources to make crap looking furniture AND I don't even have bamboo but keep getting bamboo diy
I just want to say...when I did the 3 island tours, I invited 2 of the 3 villagers to stay on my island. The 3rd villager was Nate, a big yellow bear with a massive green unibrow. I wanted this bear nowhere near my island so I stayed FAR away from him. After I was happily done building my houses, I looked at the SOLD sign on the house I put the most effort in.... Needless to say it looks like Nate is coming after all. I couldn’t be more upset
You can complain to Isabelle when she arrives at your island to complain about them. I haven't tried it myself, but I believe you can choose to change their language *(in case a brother, sister, or friend tell them to say bad or annoying things). Ask to change something else*(I don't recall). Or ask them to move out.
Mac Omegaly Thanks so much! Haha I also read you can hit them with your net a bunch of times and they’ll want to leave so I’ll try both of these things :)
Been pretty chill with the game. I kinda want to be like those people that already have everything, but I like to take my Animal Crossing slow. Those speeding up things are actually very helpful. Thanks!
6:39 YES, the vaulting pole, and Ladder will never break. But the shovel can dig as much as you want, as it will only loose durability when hitting rocks, or picking up trees. An advanced trick, is clear out a mini island of trees and flowers, then dig around the edges 5 spaces in to reduce the ground spawning area, to increase reliable* Tarantula spawns on every island you randomly find. *(note: some islands are very bad for spawning them, as they have a "safe area" buff and will only extremely rarely spawn anything that hurts the players. You will probbally notice these islands quickly when you shake all the trees and no bees will spawn.)
@@rainbowcupcakeish Odd... I can say that I tested this out on a bamboo island, and was able to dig a hole into every square and bash all the rocks with one newly minted shovel. I was actually hoping to break the shovel this way... and that's when I realized just digging holes did not effect it. I know if you dig up items, you lose durability. I have to chop a few more trees across a few islands to test if tree stumps can effect durability. Mole Crickets don't seem to count as they can break the net.
Whenever you're on a deserted island after using your Nook miles ticket, shake each tree! Furniture should fall from at least 1 of them! But there is 1 wasp nest too! So use your net!! :)
6:40 false, the golden watering can can cause golden roses to sprout from black roses. So gold tools do have hidden uses, just not all of them have been found/ implemented.

I've tested this several times and often when I'd put more than 10k bells for a money tree, it would cap at that. I planted 99k bells and got 10k in return.. so be careful!
I remember reading on reddit that it’s an every-other-day system or something. So first day of planting you can only get $10k bags, second day you can get up to $99k bags or whatever you planted.
@@Aaakeith that seems to mostly be guess work because my very first day I got over 10k. After a while someone will figure out the percentage chance like with previous games but too many people's games don't follow that pattern
I'm literally so late, it took discipline to wait until mothers day to receive this game as a gift and I'm grateful that I did because it makes it that much more special!
If you're not holding a net when the wasps fall, run away quickly until you are a reasonable distance away, and then pull up your inventory to get your net out. Getting in your inventory seems to slow the critters down giving you enough time to turn around and nab them if your timing is on point. Works for me 75% of the time! :)
tip: if the money tree is in a bad spot ( for me it was on one of my paths ) just plant it back into the glowing spot, dig it up again and you can put the money tree sapling into a more convenient spot
A lot of these are really good ideas! The tip about stocking your wood and Iorn Nuggets is BRILLIANT! Thank you!! I used this trick for my Bunny Day eggs! I keep the eggs in the center of my room in my house since I will need to access them a lot.
I have a question. Is 5 villagers the maximum amount? I got the additional 3 right away, and now I've used countless tickets and have found nothing. The islands never seem to even have any new fruit, fish, or bugs. Do I have to wait for something?
Also! If you hold down B while you’re running, it makes you run faster! Just be careful to not speed run through flowers (the petals will be removed) or past fish/insects, they get scared.
Pro-tip: if you have the same items but scattered in your inventory, you can drag one of them and put on top of the same item (of different slot). This way, it will merge the items (in second slot) to max cap and the remainder is left on the first slot. Example, you can drag 12woods from first slot to 25woods from second slot and you will get 30woods (max cap) on second slot and remainder 7woods on the first slot. This works instead of dropping items one at a time.
ANOTHER TRICK! If you are sick and tired of waiting for buildings to get built go ahead and time skip to a day later! it always helps me a ton when i first invited villagers to my island i was too excited for their houses to come in then i tried time skipping, and it worked! This trick could really be useful when it comes to getting bored of waiting STEP ONE: save and end ingame by clicking " -- " so that it will change the time to what you skipped for STEP TWO: click "system settings" STEP THREE: Scroll to the very bottom and click "System" STEP FOUR : go down to "date and time" STEP FIVE: (you might now the rest)
I love this game so much. Tis my first ever trying Animal Crossing, and it's awesome. Now this?! Thank you so freaking much man. You fed me valuable information. I enjoy your Nintendo switch related videos. Again thank you.
Regarding rocks: Dig your holes, display your furniture, or (better yet) place your fences at the corners. For instance, while standing at the the diagonal top-left of your rock, dig a hole/place an obstacle upward and leftward of your position. The corner prevents you from moving at all, where doing it at a side still makes you slide back a bit with each hit.
In addition to the last tip, if you want some semblance of choosing which villager moves in, you should invite three villagers on those islands before nook gives you the option to build new houses!
Another one for anyone whos struggling with inventory tidyness! since the items cannont be moved with a stylus, press and hold A on an item and u can drag it around to switch with another or ur just as OCD as me and need it looking neat. another! when u wana switch from having nothing in ur hands to a secific item, use the wheel to equipt it, then press down. when u need it again press the left or right, this is great for trantulas/scorpions or wasps if u pefer to shake without ur net. also also! u can pick up growing trees, and flowers with ur shovel! and finally with the eggpocolypse still looming in the depths of the sea, take the clams u dig up on the beach and craft them into bait for 100% fish catch rate! i did it and got good sized fish plus no litter! i hope this little list helped some players^^
A tip for if you want to get rid of fruit energy but don’t have a toilet: just keep digging up dan replanting trees on the same space. No need to smash rocks if you don’t want to.
About making tarantula islands: You have to go to an island that supports beetles and other bugs. I’ve found that islands that just have butterflies won’t spawn tarantulas. Also apparently the 3 tiered islands don’t spawn tarantulas either for some treason. Sometimes you have to go to multiple islands to get it right but it’s definitely worth it in the long run my dudes 👍🏻
P L E A S E do a video that helps second players in animal crossing new horizons. The first player gets everything easy but the second player has to work 10x harder just to get a basic tool
Another tip: If you want to close holes you've dug up and don't want to use your shovel to save uses, just go near the hole and press Y! Your character will shuffle the dirt and the hole will close :)
I know, its so tempting, especially when buildings go under construction and won't be open for the day. but at the same time, seeing the finished building gives me something to look forward to the next time I play.
I gave up and started mildly time traveling because I don’t have time to be able to play every day and it sucks when I’d hit a dead end in the game like half an hour into playing while I wait for things to be built or different types of bugs/fish/etc to spawn
Annie K same here, when I played New Leaf I played when I had the chance, I couldn’t play everyday so I mildly time traveled so I can continue. And well I time traveled to remove the villagers I disliked lol
My tip that I have post on reddit: Plant 1 weed adjacent to a fruit tree. This acts an indicator to you; when you shake the fruit loose - you can distinguish from the regular non-fruit ones when you wait for the fruit to grow back.
the vaulting pole one 👏🏻👏🏻 I havent progressed too much in the game and I was rlly scared the pole would somehow break and id have no choice but to call the rescue service
If you find a hornet nest in a tree, you can run away from them and enter a building or tent- any one- and when you leave the hornets will be gone. Saves you 500 bells for medicine.
and if you do get stung, you can talk to one of your villagers and they should give you a recipe for medicine, it only requires a hornets nest and three weeds.
You can build fences after setting up the 3 houses (for your 3rd, 4th and 5th new villagers) and adding all the required furniture to them. You get this quest from Tom Nook after inviting 3 villagers on mystery islands.

I like that you play without time travel, but I understand everyone who’s doing it. It’s just better to do it this way for me and that’s why I keep looking for videos that treat the game “slow” 😜👍
everyone enjoys the game at their own pace :) I'd rather be able to put hours upon hours on the game a day rather than maybe 3 or so a day max waiting for resets.

I have tried multiple times to plant 99k bells as a tree.
I don’t remember exactly how much I initially put in.
thats so weird! I planted 61.000 and it came out as 61.000 x3 so I don't know what determines the outcome...
A few days ago I got more than 10k from a tree. But then it didn't happen again.
I planted a 39k one the other day and got 3x39k back so...
First Animal Crossing game where using the toilet actually means something.
Hyper Sonic tbh, comfy seat
another tip, (sorry if its been mentioned a lot already) you can find two pieces of furniture per day by shaking trees on your island (and on the nook miles islands as well but I think you can only find one piece per island). however before you go shaking all your trees, equip a net so if a wasps nest falls out you'll be ready to catch the wasps. oh and also, when you go to a nook miles island, be sure to keep an eye out for a dig spot, theres usually one per island and they contain a fossil. be sure to check the beach area as well for a washed up diy recipe. these don't appear on every island though.
It would be much of a QoL feature if we could directly use resources from our home storage when we are doing DIY/crafting in our own home, this way we don't have to always be caring a few inventory spaces of materials around.
I'm not a fan of the crafting. I don't carry any of the clay, iron, weeds. I do carry a diy station with me but storage fills up fast.
THIS. I don't understand what the point of having a home inventory is if you can't just use it while crafting inside the house. It's so annoying to go into the inventory and take what you need. It would be easier to just leave it on the floor.
YES!!!

The Amiibo Festival game dosnt deserve to be in the shot.
@@alexsxvz
There are a few reasons.
*(and only after Smash Ultimate did the Isabelle amiibo have a great value.)
•I am an Animal Crossing fan, I purchased the game on Clearance for $5, and felt ripped off. *(again only later the amiibo packed in began to show value by content in other games.)
TL:DR Amiibo Festival is the first major stain on the Animal Crossing franchise, and is best forgotten entirely. It will never see a Switch port, and that is a good thing.
*very subtle*

I wanted this bear nowhere near my island so I stayed FAR away from him. After I was happily done building my houses, I looked at the SOLD sign on the house I put the most effort in....
Needless to say it looks like Nate is coming after all. I couldn’t be more upset

You can complain to Isabelle when she arrives at your island to complain about them. YES, the vaulting pole, and Ladder will never break.
Mac Omegaly I’ve broken many shovels from just digging. Flimsy ones and upgraded ones too
I've haven't broken a ladder or Vaulting Pole
@@rainbowcupcakeish
Odd...

@@Aaakeith that seems to mostly be guess work because my very first day I got over 10k. After a while someone will figure out the percentage chance like with previous games but too many people's games don't follow that pattern

If you're not holding a net when the wasps fall, run away quickly until you are a reasonable distance away, and then pull up your inventory to get your net out. I’m getting my nintendo switch this saturday and I’m SO excited!!!
Hold "A" to sneak with the net.
(took me a while to discover somehow)

Regarding rocks:
Dig your holes, display your furniture, or (better yet) place your fences at the corners. For instance, while standing at the the diagonal top-left of your rock, dig a hole/place an obstacle upward and leftward of your position. The corner prevents you from moving at all, where doing it at a side still makes you slide back a bit with each hit.
In the money tree, it only goes up to 10,00 bells. If you plant 99,000 bells, it still only gives you 10,000 bell bags

About making tarantula islands:
You have to go to an island that supports beetles and other bugs.

My tip that I have post on reddit:
Plant 1 weed adjacent to a fruit tree. This acts an indicator to you; when you shake the fruit loose - you can distinguish from the regular non-fruit ones when you wait for the fruit to grow back.
fruit trees also have a slightly different color than regular trees, so unless your color blind, this shouldn't be an issue.
