Honestly I’ve never done that once in a year of owning it.
The lock switch is key, I love it! I had to disable all the buttons on the R that I would always accidentally hit while filming.
Love my R6 MarkII amazing for wedding photography and it’s fantastic for traveling with the family!
What pocket friendly lenses??

I think the video/photo switch is pretty nice! It is always a pain on the original R6 to switch between the two. Can’t wait for a review

Fun fact, that lock-power switch dates back to the 20D and was last seen on the 50D and 5D mk. II. Since then, Canon has used different lock switches including a "hold to unlock" button on some models.

I hope the hot shoe is more durable than the R5 and the R6. My R6 hot is loose and flash will not fire. I hope Canon put the screws on the outside of the camera this time. It cost too much to get it fixed.

How well is it doing in low light? I have the 90D and just had the opportunity to shoot on a sony a7ii and I am shocked on how much worse my 90D does in low light.

😂R6 mkii is budget when compared to the R5 and R3 I got mine here in the UK for a chunk off by ordering through a specialist company and not from a high street seller, plus it came with a 3 year UK warranty not 2 years as offered on the high street. I suggest you shop around 😁👍

with proper setting, R5 has the fastest photo video switch in the entire industry to be honest. Thanks for not having dedicated physical switch. It has been awesome.

@@samuelyeung03 TRUE. I’m well aware. . . But my camera is old AF -CIRCA 2017. I try my hardest not to buy tech until i need it. I need the auto focus bump and 4k. i guess ‘level up my production quality’ is what i should have said. my content can only level up by well actual good content. lol

@@samuelyeung03 too invested in canon. Sony would have probably been better but I really didn’t feel like changing systems… but I still had to buy an adapter to to use all my EF glass. What Sony would you have picked instead of the R6MKII?
@@iamjasonthompson personal bought Fujifilm x-h2 for it's light weight lens system and I don't need fast auto focus.
If you are video centric, I think a7m4 or even a7m3 is already over-killed. For video, sharpness isn't important, I would rather saving money for lenses.

Waiting for the R5 II. If it doesn’t move me J’ll stick with my R5. Right now I’m all about glass. Got L zooms from 8 fisheye-70-200. Add 600 and 800 primes.

Got mine on Monday and it's just ridiculously good! Did raws and the high ISO and dynamic range is KILLER! About 1/3 stop better than the A7IV. The AF just HITS.

Where is your comparison between both cameras?
You are coping. This camera uses a 12 bit system of resolving dynamic range. Its usable dynamic range stops without noise is 10.2 while the A7IV has 12 usable stops. This cameras advantage is no crop in 4k 60. But it loses in dynamic range, codecs, low light performance and sony SLOG 3 is more versatile while grading because of its gamma curve. Stop lying to others
So I've had the camera for a year, still haven't received a cheque from Canon. Tool... Got to love the 12 year old boys that troll these UA-cam channels.@@JF..
Check out Alex Barrera's channel. He compares the R6 II and A7IV and Fuji Xt5. The R6 II has less noise and about 1/3 stop better dynamic range.
Also, James Reader did a comparison (full one) with the R6 II, A7IV, and S5II and the R6 II was the winner. Dynamic range in his real world tests were almost all the same. Noise was better on the Canon. The Canon had better ergos, and won with much faster photos, and it was the only one with full frame 4K60.
Codecs on the R6 II are as good if not better than the A7IV with high bitrate IPB, and IPB light (which I always use). Slog 3 has a bit more dynamic range on paper, but again in the real world you won't notice it. Clog3 has better colours and is easier to grade.
I spent a year researching these cameras before buying and the R6 II was the clear winner ... so I bought it.

I was in that boat... got the R6 II. It's a better camera in almost every way (better AF, better battery life, better 4K60, no record limits, faster photos, less noise, images can upscale to 45MP that look better than the R5 when needed using software (though rarely need more than 24 MP). The only thing I wish it had was 4k 120.

Hey, if you like a camera system which curbs your lens' options...Canon is the company for you.
Just use adapters until Canon can gouge you with future lenses. Wonderful investment.
I got all EF lenses for my R6 II. They focus as fast or faster than native RF lenses, for way less money... and are just as sharp. It's awesome! Can't do that with Sony or Nikon. And no need to buy "future lenses" (PS Sony GM lenses are as/more expensive than the RF lenses).

Adding another data throughput highway between the lens and the body will NOT keep up with a native lens/body setup.
Canon has set up a gouging market for their upcoming glass...one of their historical patterns...closing off options...while they spin yup the price on their upcoming glass.
Canon certainly is not going to allow it's customers to stay put with EF glass.
Don't kid yourself...every adapter slows things down a bit...it's just physics.

I haven’t noticed it yet and I’ve been on two corporate shoots with my R6ii so far, handheld run and gun. Shot wide and haven’t seen any wobble like i immediately can see on my xf605

Too bad Canon RF lenses aren't cheap, I really wanted to stay with Canon and get the r6 mkii but choosing the Sony a7iv with a Sigma lense was more cost effective.
Use ef mount lenses some work even better than they did on the ef cameras
Bingo! I got the R6 II and Sigma Art lenses along with the 70-200 2.8 IS III EF... PERFECT AF... as good or better than native RF equivalents. My Sigma Art 50 1.4 is about 2x faster than the RF50 lenses (both the 1.8 and 1.2) and just as sharp as the 1.2... for 1/3 the price. @@nightdragon3742

@@SamFigueroa I think I said it wrong. The problem with the custom settings is that it's pretty much auto. No control of the shutter, aperture and Iso.
With the launch of the new Canon R6 Mk2, the price of the R6 will drop and the Canon 5D mk2 will have a more affordable price for those with little money, only then will I be able to buy the Canon 1100D (Rebel T3)

You can customize it to lock various dials, which control things like ISO, shutter speed, aperture, white balance, etc.

Just used this camera with Canon RF 100 mm - 500 mm lens and it performed amazingly during 5 day safari in Kenya. Extremely sharp images with autofocus on even full zoom. 24 megapixels is plenty

Sony A7 IV has backside illumination, has higher dynamic range ratings, 2 base ISO (100 & 400), & wide cheaper variety of lenses from 3rd Party brands.
I think at that price point, it's the camera to beat.
