Just hoping one of these days they make a game like Mordhau or Chivalry 2 with offline split screen co-op or vs. á la Star Wars Battlefront, Left 4 Dead, etc.

I personally think mordhau looks more enjoyable than chivalry. Chivalry has horrible spawns and always is in favor of one team, and the combat of chivalry can be pretty bad sometimes.
I think Mordhau is more skill-based, which leads to more satisfying combat but also puts off most players that don't want to commit so hard to one game. So basically you get a short period of time when a lot of people are playing and it's really fun and then eventually most people fall off and its only high level players. Chiv 2 is more casual-friendly, has been on console longer and is on game pass so I think it will have a longer lifespan overall
@@plaguepandemic5651 chivalry 2 is almost dead on console. I have trouble finding full lobbies and it takes a bit to find them.

On Xbox, can you play with bots without internet? I travel a lot
$40, No Crossplay with PC, and not avaliable on either Gamepass or PS Plus. Chivalry 2 is also just an objectively more fun game and appeals to a more broader audience so gg.
Also chivalry 2 was not on game pass at the launch
No crossplay with PC is a plus if you want to have fun as a new player lol
@bigboi5962 As an owner of both Chiv 2 and Mordhau on PS5, I strongly agree. Learning the game with other new Mordhau console players has been really fun. Opposed to Chiv 2 where crossplay multiplayer is a long series of getting shit on by veteran PC players and repeat, until you either leave or get good enough to hold your own. To start at a level playing field on Morhau console has tbh made the experience much more enjoyable. Having a blast.

@@lorenzovilla2385 Yeah, you can turn Crossplay off, but then finding a game takes much longer. I'm pretty sure you can't crossplay to console only either, it's either crossplay with PC and Xbox or just play with PS5 players, which is cack tbh. Console only on Mordhau makes it fair.
The amount of laughs i had in Mordhau and the memes are priceless cant wait to try it out on console 👍

Had a game last night, virtually the entire lobby stopped fighting and gathered around a couple of bards shredding on the Lute. We all stood round cheering and messing about like it was a concert. That is until a player decided to kill one of the bards, then the entire lobby started emoting insults and chasing him, repeatedly killing him, was funny, Mordhau is a blast.

2 questions.
First can you play this game without an internet connection? As chivalry 2 was trash because you needed a constant insternet connection even when i wanted to play offline matches.
Secondly does this game have a siege mode?

You can play local matches by yourself (all game modes) with/without bots. If you want to play with just your friends, you’ll have to create your own private server (which I’m not sure if you can do on console yet). Alternatively you can tell them which server you’re in / make a party in game and join a server together.
The game features two main large gamemodes. The main one that has a linear progression is invasion, and the other one is more of a dominion mode called frontline.
Other gamemodes include brawls, deathmatch (duel servers are the most common deathmatch ones. You should flourish/spin your weapon using the emote and wait for the other player to do it back before you fight). Additionally there’s a new gamemode called “swordgame” which is essentially gun game.
One more thing worth mentioning is that you’ll unlock weapons / armours for purchase as you level up. You use the gold earned from matches for this. Outside of some voicepacks and dlc armours, everything is earned through gameplay. There is no currency purchasing.
I love it. They just need to add a update that fixes the sporactic freezing in-game. Often times the screen will freeze & then the game will continue 4-5 seconds later, often times with me dead at the hands of someone who’s screen didn’t freeze.

You can play instruments, but without the use of lutemod (no modding on console) you can’t really play any tunes.
@@sungodra1226 thats what I was afraid of, hopefully they add support for it at some point because the bards are such a part of the experience

You don't want crossplay with PC, trust me. Control schemes between keyboard+mouse and controller are so different, people on consoles would have a huge disadvantage if they met PC players.
There is crossplay between all consoles though: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X/S.

I played it on pc at release and never got into it and then for honor came out which is yet to have any competition for its combat and graphics
every ubisoft title, no matter the genre, kinda sucks (especially the newer/competitive multiplayer ones)

You can customise your character in mordhau, mordhau overall is better than chivalry 2 , chivalry 2 literally stole a lot of mechanics from mordhau, the console version of the game is not ready, But on pc it's a fully fledged game, also the game is 6 years old, the arrival of mordhau on consoles is truly late

The bots in singleplayer are indeed a lot heavier on the performance than real players
if they add crossplay all your fun would turn to hate so good thing they keep it only console

Mordhau is mainly better to play on PC while Chivalry 2 is perfect for playing on console on a couch.
Too bad it’s only first person. I hate 1st person games. The only first person games I enjoy are call of duty and battlefield. Apex legends mobile had 3rd person and I preferred that over the console pc version

Doesn't look like my thing at all, but I guess there's an audience for these types of games... Idk, without a compelling reason to keep playing, other than just killing time, I don't see the draw of these multiplayer focused combat.
The footage here looks exactly as what I'd imagine (spawn in, kill a couple guys, then you yourself get killed within 1 min, rinse / repeat)
That's a boring ass mind set, you need to actually play it and if you enjoy it... you'll see the continuity. Same goes for every multiplayer game, may it be customization, competitive, skill, playing with mates, goals or just overall enjoyment. It's a very satisfying game to play and it's quite immersive, plus I love the depth of the combat and competitive team play.
Mind you, this is coming from a PC player... the game looks quite horrible on console lol
@@River1411 nah, I'll pass. 1000s of other good games exist that I haven't really delved into to waste time on junk that I know I won't like. I don't spend 16 hours a day playing video games.
