We love hearing from all of you!
Everybody going to Cleetus n Cars Indy buy something from Kevin so he can afford the diesel to get back home!
Now, if we can just keep the rain away
@@snakeboy1991 I agree but just an afternoon shower .. im sure they are prepared
Definitely count me in on some of his merchandise...probably drop 100 atleast lol
I can’t even imagine what Cleetus had to pay for three transporters to ship all the cars to Indy and back.
Awesome content... the safety burnout was perfect, exhaust is doing its job beautifully
Finally some better end of video music.😆 Vice Grib Chevelle is a ripper!!
Wow the smoke blows cool thank you for the video
that sucker really wakes up when all 8 are hitting
A guy needs to get him a "Lone Wolf 5000". I bet ol' Derek may have a spare one laying around.
I knew it was going to be good, but I was not prepared for that burnout. It was more violent than I thought it was going to be. Also last night I was listening to the Dale jr. Download and he had Rick Mears on there. 1978 Rick Mears helmet unbuckled during the Indy 500 and he held it down with his hand until there was a caution 2 laps later. They used to build people different
Please do some work on the 300z. Can't wait to see one of my favorite cars of all time rolling down the road.
What a absolute animal that car is ..love it..
Burn Out looks great.Ethyl getting old but she still has what it takes
You the man Kevin!
Bolt a set of slicks on that bad boy and see what it will do in a quarter. That would be interesting.🇺🇸🛠🇺🇸 just for shits and giggles I’m sure Derek won’t mind🤣
Did anybody catch what the power increase was without the carb hat?
Why did you set both the intake and the exhaust lash at 0.012? Doesn't the exhaust get more than the intake normally due to heat expansion?
Need to get your self a salad bowl like they have on Engine Masters.
Kevin how much hp did it pick up on motor with out the elbo vrs the elbo ???
45rwhp, lol
@@KSRPerformanceFabrication that’s insane gain just over that elbo.
Thats how you have to start "Independence" every time. "BRING THE THUNDER"
Sorry but Jackstand is going to be bringing the thunder. Now Cleet/Jackstand now owns Killer Bee 🚕💨💨🌩
@@lorrystagg6578 it was a quote from the car's owner ya dipstick lol
Independence brought the thunder and KSR fed her onions.
Jackstand Jimmy has that covered wit the Killa Bee...
We the people 🇺🇸💯
Thanks Kevin and Drew! This car means a lot to many of us and we wanna see Derek succeed.
Independence has always smoked the tires, but this is on another level.
That 2-3 shift and peel out was awsome!
I bet a guy is going to be happy about the results.
Great job, guys!
I think you're having more fun with Independence then you do with those expensive cars. The smile when you do something with her is brighter
The exhaust is doing it’s job throwing the smoke! Cool to see!
Great Job.. KSR Rules.. Derek is really lucky to have you for a tuner.....You REALLY made that engine sing.. Really Hope to see this car at another Drive & Drag event someday....
I love how the exhaust pushes the smoke out from underneath the car now. Keep up the great work and God Bless you guys and your families. Stay safe out there. 🔥💪💯👍👍🙏🙏
Kevin needs a lone wolf 9000.
I thought the same thing
Ha! I just ordered the same model.
Kevin , Now we know you've seen Dereks videos, "Bring the Thunder" ❤
Bro... your Wyle E Coyote..
SUPER GENIUS 👌 THANK YOU for the education...
You can't truly appreciate this car unless you've followed the story from the beginning on VGG. Kevin and KSR changed Derek's game!
Thinking back to the video of Derek walking down that alley when he first saw it...and he was shocked. 😁
@@G_Machine_Joe That was such a cool video to watch when it came out, and now look at her. Independence is something else. More rust than car, and makes enough power to shift a city block. Glorious.
Man, what a difference. The new exhaust really helped with the smoke spread. That looked and sounded awesome. I can't wait to see the next burnout event that Darek takes her to.
Derek's going to be hollering "MOSES SANDLES! I mean, I gotta believe it. I'm lookin' right at it".
Love the sound of the engine idling and full power. 👌
three happy ladies, lmao drew
Dyno pulls without a steering wheel is dangerous, what if a curve came up?
you just slide your shoe on the ground like youre ridin a bicycle
You gotta lean into the corners like a train does
I love when I sit down in my KSR "Everything Needs A TURBO" Shirt open my laptop and there's a new KSR video; especially when it involves 2 of my favorite channels
Honestly, that exhaust makes a BIG differance!! IDK why everyone else doesn't set theirs up like this. Amazing work Kevin!!
Raw fuel dumping on flaming tires could be a problem.
I've seen two other people set their burn out rig pipes up like this in the last month now. Gunna be a smoke show👍
Stoked on this. Its been a battle with the car as it never quite got up to dereks hopes i think. Now its go time. Kevin and his team have it figured out!
31:17 - The two color smoke looks extra heavy / thick between the buildings, (added wow factor). This power-train combo., plus your finding of some extra horse power, created an impressive tire smoking show.
Holy smokes, that safety burnout was success! Chevelle left a decent signature on that surface! Cheers from Finland, keep up the great work!
That Chevelle is called Independence. You can watch the entire rescue and build up of it on Vice Grip Garage UA-cam channel under the Playlist of Independence Chevelle. If you're not already subscribed to that channel, you should definitely check it out!
@@bigsexymuthashutyomouth2546 hey thanks for reply, I´m one of those lucky fellers who have discovered Dereks channel! The story of Independence is great, and it is also the reason I found this great channel of Kevin and his team. Cheers!
Every video I find myself going: "Ha, did not know that. Storing that little bit in the brain bank". Am I ever going to use said knowledge or KSR wisdom? Don't know. Not to many American muscle cars around here in The Netherlands hahaha. But if it ever does become useful, at least I know. Thanks for being an awesome teacher Kevin, really helps to get an insight and understanding of something I know very little about.
You need to get an airboat. Or better yet, a "swamp" buggy.
KSR and a coffee! nice
I like the way you explain what you are doing.
Great job KSR. VGG Independence running and sounding good
That specialty exhaust really makes the smoke billow out. It went from smoke coming straight out from the back of the car to fanning it out. Better effect for Independence and the crowd will love it. Now the question is will the crowd be able to see the car with that effect as he spins around?
It's amazing to me that the poor little 10 bolt is still alive and seems to be working flawlessly
She’s had a rough life!!
Back in the day we raced a 69 nova full steel body 4000 lbs. We ran stock 12 and 10 bolts. We found the 10 bolts to be stronger and lasted longer. Car ran mid 9’s carrying the wheels to almost 60’. We painted lines on the axles and would inspect them every few passes.
@@KSRPerformanceFabrication what was the hp difference between the hat and no hat?
@@wallysworkin823 i always weld the axle tubes in when i build a 10 bolt
I like how the new exhaust setup seems to keep the smoke lower to ground, for longer, and pushing it more away from the car.
While at the same time, making it look more dense. Niiice!
The call of the North American horse power eagle... WhooHooo. Thank Kevin
I love how all my favorite channels are collaborating it's awesome!
I'm very curious how your overflow/recirculation tank works out? Please keep us posted in an upcoming video? Great content by the way brother...🤓
I love watching a skilled craftsman find and fix the little things! That why you “Win With KSR”!!!
Love this VGG!!!!
Great work, sounds like it will kick ass at the track. I hope Independence makes the long road trip and wins some races on its next adventure.
Drew is top quality
It's funny when you look at the letters on the tires as they go around they go different directions at different speeds.
That little hat on carb is a huge restriction on a na motor. But force induction will be different especially on ethanol.
Be safe , good work on the head phones for ear protection.
That is an odd phenomenon isn't it. Optical illusion :)
Just wow Kevin you are a mad scientist under the bonnet independence is tuned in now man I love that car it just screams FREEDOM! .......BRING THE THUNDER!!!!!!
I mean since you're working on Derek's car you pretty much don't have a choice but to say "BRING THE THUNDER" upon firing lol.. great video kevin!!
i remember the first time i saw this car on youtube it was being purchased and repaired in a hotel parking lot and driven across country with goggles lmfao wow who would have thought that 10 years later we would be watching it at cleetus and cars burn comp glad to see it never got body repair and paint the patina is the soul of this chevell and the rust its character more indo chevell please and u should make a new hiflow hat design or change the intake to a tunnel ram port injection and a intercooler
nice pulls on the 6.5 cylinder engine. they always work better with 8 cylinders firing full time 🤣🤣🤣🤣
maybe the camera made it easy, but I could hear lame ducks.
That's what I call Bringing the Thunder!!! Great job !
Kevin you will probably have a $1500 diesel bill to go to Indy.. Good Luck.
Kevin, that bonnet is designed to be at 6 o-clock on that carb. It will not perform ideally as it is.
That thing is rowdy. Can't believe the 10 bolt hasn't grenaded yet, lol
I see that Independence is sporting her new front blinker lenses finally. Looks great! Great job to all of you!
They've been on there for a while now..
I donated them. Sent them to KSR right before Sick Week.
Good eye!
@@MCC70SS454 That's really cool!
Kevin, brother, you desperately need a bigger television to display your dyno results so you don't have to get out of the car every time. I would send you a TV
We had one mounted on the lift, but it got broken a couple weeks ago. We haven’t had time to install the new one on the Dyno yet.
We were guessing the horsepower up here in Washington State.. is it.. 420? (let us know when it is)
I'm still amazed that rear end is in one piece with all that motor
I had the same trouble with spark plug boots on my big block and found ceramic wire ends and that fixed it!
WOW!!!!!! Bring on the Thunder!!!!!!!
Great Job Kevin & Crew!!!!
Back on the Dyno excellent!!
Thanks for the new video! I enjoy each one. The more the better!
Love the "Bring the Tunder!" on startup
After indy its oldsmobile time!
Watching this as I'm getting ready to make the trip down to Indy. Getting pumped... Then the outro music hits... Perfection
Definitely a master of your craft Kevin. I've never yet seen you settle for "just good enough". If I had anything close to a race car, I'd make the trip and pay you whatever you asked to make it KSR approved and know it's done with perfection. The "BRING THE THUNDER!!" Was awesome. 👍
Is there anything you don't know how to do? Your working knowledge is quite impressive
Somebody needs to swing by O'Reilly's and get a lonewolfmakeithappener 9000, per the VGG commercial
Bring the thunder always gets me haha 😄
Murica! KSR now with added headbanger music on the Outtro :-)
That was a None too shabby Test burnout Kev, Derek WILL be pleased with all the We the People Power!
I know Big Brother is making us Benzine Burners mix in Ethanol (for drinking) on the street. I'd love to see it on Methanol (for Racing). ( An old Grey Beard Racer I used to run with said, "Methanol is for Racing, Ethanol is for drinking after racing.")
Don't worry Kevin we are having problems with parts also. So glad see Derek's car finally up and running. Nice burn out 😂 Aussie Fan 🤟🇦🇺🤣
I'd really like to see what independence runs in the 1/4 mile now. Burnouts are cool but so hard on engines.
Heat is the main issue with burnouts. Thats why Kevin added the extra expansion tank. Not as much load on the engine as drag racing since the tires are always spinning. But it's a natural "send it" vibe while doing a burnout to keep it close to/on the chip, which doesn't help engine life.
Just fucking WOW! Nothing else to say!!! Great Job! Kevin and the crew!
Holy crap.! I just learned how to adjust valve lash.! It all makes sense now. 😀🤘 Thanks Kevin.
Kev Derricks going be very happy with your work & the exhaust pipes the smoke out much better now too ! I'm from indiana going miss the ppv plus there is going be storms sat & sunday but please enjoy your time away from all the florida humidity !
Holy Fffff......... Insane smoke. Very well done guys!
In last video I left a comment thinking it had a blower supercharger on it. Oops. Seen too many LS’s with them I guess.
man that thing looked good doing the burnout. thanks Kev. can't wait to see that thing on another drag and drive
Man I bet your neighbors just luuuuuuv you. I'd have no prob. being your neighbor but you know how some people are. Lolol. Keepemcoming
Questions?
1) Assuming that the after market fuel injection system can accept two O2 inputs, isn't it better to install an O2 sensor on both exhausts on any V engine with dual exhaust?
2) Is there a better torque convertor configuration for burn outs as compared to drag racing?
Nice work. That was AWSOME!!!! KSR and VGG so good.....
Struggling to hear your speech in the dyno room again Kevin sorry,,maybe turn your fans off when talking...
Amazing content, keep up the good work.
If that's an MSD blaster II coil, should they not be mounted in the vertical position? I read that they are oil filled and when they are on their side they can get an air pocket and cause the coils to over heat and possibly burn up.
Kevin that was a smokin 779 smile.
Congratulations and good racing in the 800.
A guy had a little wetness in his eyeballs when he heard those numbers and even more when he saw that beautiful burnout. The exhaust appears to be doing as intended.
I was almost fine till I read this then went straight to tears...
This car has been through a lot I am so pumped for Derek
If he doesn't get a tire pop this time, it won't be because you didn't try your best! "Once you pop, you gotta stop!"
That car has come a long way from the way it was when he drove it home.
Kevin, have you tested with wrapping the header tubes with titanium/Kevlar ?
Quite a few little quirks, but usually no match for you. Looks like a ripper.
You guys are just plain magicians when it comes to motor work!! Love your channel!!
I remember David Freiburger talking about used to work for a spark plug company and he came up with making a spark plug boot out of the same ceramic that the spark plug is made out of and apparently they still do that so you might want to think about that?
We have nothing in 🇬🇧 that sounds anyway near are cool as that. Freaking awesome dude 👍 I want a ride!!
She sounding right now Kev🔥🔥🤘🤘👍👍🇺🇲🇺🇲🦅🦅
