- Millet is a gluten-free grain that’s rich in antioxidants, soluble fiber, and protein. In particular, it may regulate blood sugar levels and cholesterol. In this video, I have demonstrated on how to make the South Indian dish Idli using the Foxtail Millet, which is considered very good for people with Diabetics and High Cholesterol related issues. Positive Millets are the most effective millets.
Types of Positive Millets ( Fiber content : 8 - 12.5%)
1. Foxtail Millet (Thina in Malayalam)
2. Kodo Millet (Koovaragu in Malayalam)
3. Barnyard Millet (Kavadapullu in Malayalam)
4. Little Millet (Chama in Malayalam)
5. Browntop Millet (Not known)

Yes you can store as powder so that you can make puttu.
Only Ione thing to remember is to wash and soak millet 6/8 hrs before grinding .
Once soaked then drain water and dry roast before grinding.

I wish to know if you use wet grinder or mixer for preparing the batter. Batter grinded in mixer is found to be not that smooth .

Seems your mixer grinder is not heave duty one. When you buy a mixer grinder, always check the watts. My grinder is 1000 watts. That will grind everything smooth pastel. Hope this will help you😊

I am in Ernakulam. While foxtail m little millets are available here, I find it difficult to procure brown top, kodo, proso . Do u know of any stores in Ernakulam, where I can procure it?
