Why on earth would a policeman feel the need to have his face hidden in a video taken in a public place? And what business didn he have asking intrusive questions to a member of the public who was doing nothing wrong.
@albertrichardson6160 that's who the phone call was; back to HQ. CP: did you get it? HQ: yeah. Running him now. CP: Anything? HQ: yeah. We got him. Let it go and don't raise suspicion about the picture.
You made a fantastic point about policing by consent. You told him the wording about none compulsay identification. By omitting this phrase, he changed from a police officer into a state enforcer. By choice. You did a very welcome thing by making him aware of it in my view.
I loved the way you asked one copper a general question about police taking photos using their phone and then used his response to question the other one. Excellent tactic 👌
and do you think that would satisfy them? it will just lead to another question such as "why is it recreational? , " what are you going to you do with it? " and so on and so on and remember, cops never just have a 'conversation'
I suppose we SHOULD BE GRATEFUL that they arrived on bikes and not, as they usually do, in a large powerful vehicle using Blues and Twos for a NON EMERGENCY CALL thereby putting everyone's lives in DANGER.
Yes, we see it all the time all over the country but it’s especially the case in the City of London, the only place where businesses get to vote at local elections.
If it's not a crime, then what are the Police doing there? They even knew that when called so why did they even attend? and the photo on the phone was seriously out of order, especially when they had already admitted there was no crime so he didn't need any photo, let alone a higher quality one.
13:30 definitely a dodgy copper, body language speaks volumes with this one.! Constable CP327 seemed a very reasonable copper who was willing to listen and de-escalate this situation very quickly ;-)
Brilliant officer (left), worryingly arrogant and recently trained officer(right). The newbies are letting the video world that these things are not just confined to a few years back. THEY ARE CURRENT!

Here in Scotland no security guard would be so arrogant to cause a nuisance to people in a public street simply because they’re filming in a public place. It must be unique to London where this sort of nonsense just wouldn’t happen up here
How can these people be so thick in regard to GDPR? They are being filmed everywhere they go AND the building has see through glass for goodness sake! 🙄😁 good one pal 👍

They were possibly told a few porkies to get the police there quickly. Just why two police would turn up if the initial report was ‘there’s someone with a camera’.
Wow! What a quick response time for a man legally taking pics on a public st. Why is nobody telling the call handlers not to send urgent response to these calls? I like the fact you got the cad number, all auditors should get this when police are called, so it can be checked against what was said on the call, then compared to the video footage of what actually happened.
It’s apparent from comments that if you’ve been burgled, assaulted or anything actually, to get police attendance quickly, tell the operator there’s a firearm involved, or maybe a cameraman.
Look forward to the video showing the subject access requests. There is a massive gap for that to be shown in the UK as they do in the US which further stamps the authority the people have AND makes it way more intersting seeing the plod learning their lessons
This really infuriates me, in the conversation if you replace filming with walking your dog it soon becomes clear how ridiculous this is. "It came over the radio there is a man walking his dog so we responded immediately", "why is it you are walking your dog?", "can we take your details, can I take a photo of you?" Some of my friends went to London for shopping, they actually saw some nasty things, the police didn’t show up, but here a man whit a camera, and boom 💥 there !!!
Police forces in the UK, including the British Transport Police, South Wales Police, and Leicestershire Police, use body-worn cameras with live facial recognition. The cameras can compare people within range to a watchlist of wanted individuals. The UK government has committed £17.5 million to develop a system that will double the use of facial recognition technology in the next year AND ARE RIGHTS AND MOVEMENT ARE GETTING CRUSHED
He didn't give you a legal reason for taking you photo. He explained that it's a better picture but not the reason for the better picture. Another police idiot!!!!
You have no legal obligation to be photographed and filmed EVEN after arrest. They only have legal standing on fingerprints and dna. Always refuse the camera.
Brilliant interaction & tbf to the coppers they were very professional BUT they didn't need to carry on fishing for information when there was no crime committed !..If they ALL acted that way respect would be far more forthcoming !

They have started to fix the cycling emotorbike issues in the city. Not enough, but a start.
SO the police got a call stating that you were recording the building and they already know that its not against the law so why even bother to turn up ? They are 'law' enforcement who need only turn up for crimes and nothing else, certainly not for anything civil.
If they take your photo you need to do more than cover up with a mask unless it covers all of your face. You need a snood and a ski mask for example. If it sees your eyes they can identify you. If they can see your mouth the same. Even if you cover up fully that still may not be enough, they can identify you through gait.

Definitely a wrong one
There is no crime but 2 police turn up because a corporation called them.
Sadly money talks
That's the real two tier policing.
He took your picture with his mobile to send it in to HQ to run you through the facial recognition system! Naughty constable!!
Wondering if the data can be requested from his phone for who/where it was sent and the call/txt data also??
Done
Great video as usual love your considerable knowledge of the law very often more knowledgeable than some of the police you encounter!
There’s 22 minutes ( or thereabouts) of my time wasted….. with someone who thinks he knows it all.

Well executed audit, Scorpion. We can all see which of those 2 officers are potentially going to end up rotten to the core.
