Police and security guards are all the same. They can not comprehend the fact that policies and feelings are not the law, that they do not trump the law. Their ignorance of the law is universal. Security guards specially can not comprehend that their authority does not encompass the publicly accessible public property areas. And it is an unbalanced mind that puts huge windows on a building so that everyone and their pet gerbils can easily see inside and watch everything that is happening inside and then start to soil their depends the moment someone with a camera shows up and starts recording what they can see through those same windows. They need to learn to not project themselves and their mindset onto others.
