My stab in the dark guess for the Archon will is that she'll probably buff you for losing or gaining HP just like the new 4p but she won't be able to drain or heal characters. The character has to drain or lose their HP by themself to get the buffs. This is probably why Lyney and Lynette randomly have self drain and self heal and more future Fontaine units will probably have it too, so that they can easily trigger the buffs that require you to gain or lose hp to build stacks.

This is a good question; I just got a Skyward Harp finally but I need to decide whether it'll go on Lyney, or if I steal Yoi's TP and stick Harp on Fischl.
Kinda? IIRC bonus dmg is not an easy stat to reach heavy diminishing returns because 1) it's not that common and 2) it buffs both aggravate and non-aggravate damage, and even with stringless + electro goblet + skill dmg set you'll be getting 154.6% bonus skill dmg, which is high, but not extreme (Raiden for example still has more bonus burst damage on a lot of her teams). It's possible that 5 star crit mainstat bows like Harp (which was slightly worse than R5 Stringless before) and TPulse will be able to jump Stringless in weapon rankings, but I don't expect much else to change there and Stringless will likely remain the best 4 star option.
@@Noctis2525 Lyney's bow is niche af. I'd definitely just stick with the TP. You'll probably have 2 stacks vs. 3 most times, but it's got great base atk and is a great crit stat stick...there's legit no reason to pull for Lyney's bow. It's not even really "Universal" like Yelan's bow where you just get more HP and free bonus dmg for being close to enemies. You have a crit DMG bow and crit RATE bow. You literally don't have to pull for any weapons dude. Maybe elegy if it's on a based weapon banner but I wouldn't really do that but u do u.
I think kuki is actually really good at enabling the flower of life set since she has very consistent healing on her skill for up to 15 seconds (so basically the entire onfield time for the set user). You can build her with a lot of EM so her heals won't fill you up before the end of your rotation. Just take some damage with the set holder first and then on their turn to be onfield, they have kuki to heal them up slowly, maintaining the set bonus and giving them survivability at the same time. My current hybrid EM build kuki heals for about 1000 health every 3 seconds, so i think with some engineering, she can heal for a bit less while also doing decent damage through reactions in some team. In short, Kuki just gets better and better with every region iktr
Of course there are still nuances with this playstyle since getting hit isn't the most desirable thing ever (especially taking a lot of damage from that hit which is the best case scenario for the set's uptime). However, as Zajef mentioned in the video, if you can make it work, 33% crit rate is absolutely insane. Also, i think that among the healers we have right now, Kuki is the best one to enable this playstyle. Yaoyao also work since her skill heals for very little amount at a time, but the uptime is a bit less, and her heal is a but more stationary, so she places only at number 2 in my opinion. It's very interesting to see that this set opens up a niche for small, consistent healing which is quite nice
extremely excited for Freminet and i think his gameplay and kit design will overall make up for any lacklustre damage he may have if a character feels cool as hell to play, even if they're not competitive, you'll have a damn fun time with them regardless!!
@@edensnagisa honestly, shatter being a reaction that basically everyone forgets even exists, its gonna be interesting to see how people mess around with the playstyle!!
@@pavel5129 as far as we know, take it with a grain of salt, she constantly drains hp from our chars to provide massive buffs. That drain is not current hp (like Hu Tao and Kuki) but max, and it can kill you, so it will take so e management to work. Depending on her application, icd etc she could well be as broken as Nahida. I'm getting my guaranteed Kokomi that I have been saving forever and waiting for her afterwards. I doubt they would ever release a bad archon.
Lyney’s A4 shows Hoyoverse learned from their past mistakes. Looking at Ganyu’s kit, one thing is clear, it was never designed to be used for Melt. Melt Ganyu is great because of an oversight from Mihoyo’s part. Now, by designing passives that give buffs that work only when the character is used like they wanted it to be used, they are making sure this no longer happens. Ganyu, if she was designed recently, would probably have lower multipliers on her Charged Attacks and a passive like this: when enemies are affected by Cryo, Charged Attack damage increases by 60%. Additionally, enemeis affected by Cryo take 50% increased damage from Ganyu’s Charged Attacks when within the area of Celestial Shower.
Even if you had them, Ganyu’s Melt team is good, and based on the encounter it can even be preferable. It might be good because of an oversight from Mihoyo’s part, but this doesn’t matter.
@@aethernity8270 I mean Melt Ganyu is generally better than Freeze atm, Freeze Ganyu is generally only good with Venti vs enemies Venti sucks up which isn't common atm. Also, Mona is far better in Freeze Ganyu than Kokomi is.
the free fishing sword sounds really good for c6 xq,, bc at c6 and currently with fav, he doesn’t really need that much er anyways and having slightly higher base atk would mean he’d do more dmg + also freeing up fav sword for other chars
I swear finally someone agrees with me on this one, I always feel a little disappointed in SacSword's low atk, and his ER requirements are non existent most of the time, so I always felt tempted to put some higher atk weapon on him like a Skyward blade. Let's hope this new weapon serves our * current * hydro archon
I mean currently festering desire isn't great on him so I don't expect this to be either. Buffing his elemental skill's crit rate does very little if anything in practice since most of his damage is on his burst. If you want to run a non fav/sac weapon on him the only options that are worthwhile are the 5 star crit swords most of the time. If you have enough er to not need much in a team Lions roar is more damage and if you want the er fav sword is just better.

It looks like the hydro archon set is released starting on 4.0 like sumeru. Be a nice domain to farm if you got other characters built. I hope it's as fast and efficient as deepwood/gilded is
I like skill based characters so these artifacts are promising, also if you dont run a shield and run kuki instead and just not dodge so much you will take damage and be constantly gaining hp and she goes down when she uses her skill too, not that she is used for her personal damage but its healing over time that moves with you. Might be a bit weird but could be viable with her as a teammate

Lyney and Lyneytte should've been one unit, and completely different, as like the headlining ones from Fontaine they really shouldn't have botched them up like this
Attack % craftable weapons are underwhelming even with their high atk bonuses. At the end of the day, having low CR/CD with high attack isn't an option, atk rolls aren't exactly that hard to get, and often aren't even welcome in the first place.
I mean atk rolls have the exact same likelihood to appear as crit rolls, atk% rolls are actually less likely be rolled than either crit stat. It doesn't matter if atk isn't the optimal stat if it's 10+ rolls of atk compared to a lesser amount of crit. The sword probably won't see use over good users of black sword of wolf fang but it will see use over other 4 star options.
@@twigz3214 I really doubt it, none of the existing weapons require healing to gain their respective bonuses, so these new buffs seem really niche and situational, unless of course they decide to flood the abyss with rifthounds with several million hp, which they pretty much might at this point.
@@vladdyru I mean It's better than other 4 star non-bp options for Ayato and Keqing either way (potentially others as well), the 4 star dps swords are lacking outside of bp. The sword isn't super op of course but it's better than the alternatives. If you have bp or 5 star dps swords of course it won't see use.
@@twigz3214 I would argue that Isshin and Amenoma would probably come out on top, considering that they don't require healing to proc their passives. Besides, I think by this point almost everyone has a copy of Blackcliff or Lion's Roar, which aren't that hard to obtain. To conclude, I'm not saying that these new weapons are completely useless, they are simply too niche and not worth spending billets on.

@@freshlymemed5680 i couldn't care less about the story, but usually with this type of updates, we get some changes to the system like reactions and stuff, that what made it fresh for the last 2 years at least, i love this game dearly and i obviously want it to never lose it charm
the crit artifact might be usable on a specific spread team something like using a really slow hydro applicator as a utility like barbara to trigger atleast 1 bloom eating a bloom damabe and healing it would get you 2 stacks if it works as its says
Couple thoughts: The Battle Pass Catalyst has some real potential on crit Kokomi The craftable Polearm looks like an interesting option for burst Zhongli since if you build him for damage without fav he usually has energy problems. This could help with that.
For Lyney I think that for most players Zhongli, Bennett and Xiangling will be the best team mates. He already gets a ton of DMG% from other sources and It doesn't matter how much more dmg you'd do with Kazuha if you're dead. (Granted some people can manage to go without a shielder while doing CA but a lot of us are on Mobile or Console). Not everyone is going to have Dehya and I think people are forgetting that her interruption resistance only lasts for 9s with a 20 second Cool Down, so Lyney will still get swatted around like a ping pong ball half the time. His main issue though imo is that if you already have Kazuha, Bennett and XL then you just need Childe and you have International, which not only likely does more DMG but is less difficult to play (imo) and has a strong counter to different elemental shields like the Baptist friend in our current Abyss has.
i cant wait to go to Fontaine unlock the domains then play my xiangling hyperbloom against the new enemies with no pneuma combo so they dont stun then i die in my bennett field because they get mega ultra cock balls buff when you use pnuema focalors bathwater against them and not navia taylor swift eras tour against them

@@hankoiba9032 not really? Emblem is good on many chars besides Raiden, same as Gilded. Shimenawa is a bit more niche, still usable, the same goes for Deepwood
@@impostorsyndrome1350emblem and deepwood are broken for the archon that was his point, not solely on them. The new one, if the leaks are true, will be mandatory on every crit team that can fit her.
That second artifact set says when current HP changes. Meaning it can go down yes but it says nothing about it not working if it goes back up.. just saying, something to watch. The text just says. "When current HP changes"
For the ousia/pneuma mechanic, I think it’s probably won’t matter too much in abyss because of the 4.0 abyss. Normally they would want to push the 5* and lyney is the only one in the banner has this mechanic, but the abyss line up doesn’t support him to utilize this mechanic at all. To give a short explaination of my take, you have to attack the enemies with the *opposite* type of them for this mechanic to work. Abyss f12 has ousia enemies on one side and pneuma on the other. Lyney is pneuma yet the side has ousia enemies also has the crab boss with a giga big pyro resistance (I remember someone said in its enhanced state its resistance go up to 140% or something?). There might also be the case that they just doesn’t care about lyney and make an abyss bad for him too lol, but even in that case, it’d mean that they didn’t care that much about this ousia/pneuma mechanic when design the abyss. So yeah, it seems like this mechanic is not that impactful anyway
Eh... I doubt it... The leaks said she drains FROM teammates to deal more damage. That should mean she would play the role of the dps. So unless she's an off-field dps, hutao won't be able to function in that team. Hutao's best team, double hydro +kazuha already have really good hydro application and have ramping up damage buff cause of yelan. So hutao isn't really in the desperate need of a hydro+buffer cause it's not gonna make much of a difference from the current ones available.
@zakomimi4185 Plus having the hydro archon draining Hutao’s HP on top of her own HP draining and lower than 50% Hp requirements might end up killing her more times than none, if not run with a healer. And to add, Bennet with Hutao is a pain bc her charge attacks mis position her way too much to stay in Bennet’s circle reliably. If you add Corrosion from the Wolves that’s too much HP drainage for Bennet to keep up.
Hmm.... If Lyney actually increase his base ATK by 100% in mono Pyro team, doesn't it worse when you have Bennett in your team increasing Pyro damage? bc Bennett also give a lot ATK.
Albedo got hyper buffed with basically a new artifact set and basically a new BiS. With the new weapon and new artifact set u can actually get away with going def, geo damage, def effectively giving him the def he had before with husk but with a 60% skill damage buff. And it at r5 of the new wep that's another 36% skill damage (and ulti damage) equaling 96% skill damage (and 36% ulti damage). The new wep also gives a LOT of crit rate 27.6% crit rate at level 90 and an extra 8% if you stack the passive equaling 35.6% crit rate. These feel huge for albedo

Excited for Lyney. Usually prefer a team of different elements but he’s so stylish so I’ll try for him!
it's been years, design really doesn't make up for kit anymore, just shooting yourself in the foot every single time
I’m really excited for the story, hydro archon and Neuvillette :) plus I feel like the diving mechanic will be fun based on the leaks so far
With Fischl's new best set, does this reduce the viability of The Stringless due to diminishing returns on skill damage percent?
We'd def want atk sands, mb not an issue if she snapshots an attack buff? Not sure how aggravate might affect worth of dmg% vs em
Unless you have a crit bow, probably not
I'm waiting for fontaine. Mainly lynette. I don't care if she is gonna be bad I NEED LYNETTE

@@rishterm Which set?
Why
Isn't Lynette going to be free?
Lovely content as always. Was bummed I wasnt able to catch the streams but always thankful for the recap vids!
Among all the new things, I'm most excited about the fact that I can strong box Emblem and Tenacity lol
❤lol same
Having Fjords on Xiangling and Catch on Raiden means you can more effectively Raiden National and I'm here for it.
extremely excited for Freminet and i think his gameplay and kit design will overall make up for any lacklustre damage he may have
if a character feels cool as hell to play, even if they're not competitive, you'll have a damn fun time with them regardless!!
yeah! he feels like he focuses on shatterbloom which is a pretty cool unique team. even just shatter on its own is still interesting.
@@edensnagisa honestly, shatter being a reaction that basically everyone forgets even exists, its gonna be interesting to see how people mess around with the playstyle!!

Mihoyou may not be power creeping characters
but we're power creeping artifact sets
Traveler - "Oh no, we suck again!"
The amount of farming the new set, if the archon kit is real, will be insane. Pretty much a upgrade on every crit team that can fit her
@@rafael_lana what is her kits?
I use ganyu is melt teams because I don't have kokomi,Mona
Even if you had them, Ganyu’s Melt team is good, and based on the encounter it can even be preferable.
It might be good because of an oversight from Mihoyo’s part, but this doesn’t matter.
@@aethernity8270 I mean Melt Ganyu is generally better than Freeze atm, Freeze Ganyu is generally only good with Venti vs enemies Venti sucks up which isn't common atm. Also, Mona is far better in Freeze Ganyu than Kokomi is.
@@twigz3214 sadly don't have either of them 💀
the free fishing sword sounds really good for c6 xq,, bc at c6 and currently with fav, he doesn’t really need that much er anyways and having slightly higher base atk would mean he’d do more dmg + also freeing up fav sword for other chars
and the fav can go to another char which is great
I swear finally someone agrees with me on this one, I always feel a little disappointed in SacSword's low atk, and his ER requirements are non existent most of the time, so I always felt tempted to put some higher atk weapon on him like a Skyward blade.
If you have enough er to not need much in a team Lions roar is more damage and if you want the er fav sword is just better.
from what I gathered the archon needs "correction"
Dude I thought it was some cute "justice/judgement" meme but I had no idea it was related to some sicko freak JPN dude who posted rape comments. Literal cringe ofc from the Genshin community commandeering that. I was legit like what the fuck when I learned what that was ACTUALLY in reference to. Actual rape jokes O.o.
you should go outside
It looks like the hydro archon set is released starting on 4.0 like sumeru. Be a nice domain to farm if you got other characters built. I hope it's as fast and efficient as deepwood/gilded is
I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO
I like skill based characters so these artifacts are promising, also if you dont run a shield and run kuki instead and just not dodge so much you will take damage and be constantly gaining hp and she goes down when she uses her skill too, not that she is used for her personal damage but its healing over time that moves with you. Might be a bit weird but could be viable with her as a teammate
Honestly so excited for these new characters, hoping to do Lyney, Bennett, Dehya and Lynette :)
Being played in mono pyro is like the lowest bar for any character, literally every character can go in a team with bennett XL Kazuha and do fine, the fact that Lyney is a mono pyro unit is pretty dissapointing considering how we still don't have burning, burgeon, or overload based pyro units
Especially overload, because this reaction is ancient
4.0 is gonna be so exciting, I can't wait
Zajeff's pronunciation of Fontaine changed like 4 times throughout the video...
its like the pho of phone and ten
its his first language tho- could be cuz he switches between english and french and that impacts the pronunciation of the french word idk
random thought: how about a lyney, bennett, xiangling, and zhongli with archaic petra? would this be not be better than the dehya variant?
Dehya variant can either run bennett xiangling or bennett kazuha, it depends which one is better or worse
@@d3m3nt3d_t3acup_ dehya bennett xiangling issue includes lack of grouping, res shred, external buff

I'm pretty excited for Fontaine with what we know so far. I know everything is still under the mercy of "Subject To Change", but the changes after this recording were some little character buffs to my understanding, so it's still looking promising.
The event weapon will be great for fighting shielded enemies on whom we can't proc fav or sac.
Finally 4 piece set for Fischl, not 2x electro and 2x blah blah blah.
Also, looking forward for Lyney and Freminet.
New Elemental Skill set with Heizou :D
Heizou enjoyer w
Yeah could be interesting for some one-shot teams, where you stack his E, apply all the buffs, then swap back to him and E with the 60% dmg bonus. Interesting. I wish I had Heizo.
with this trend of copy paste with a little bit different mechanic, i think its time we get a new spiral abyss type
Lyney and Lyneytte should've been one unit, and completely different, as like the headlining ones from Fontaine they really shouldn't have botched them up like this
Freeze Traveler Team let’s gooooooooo
Can’t wait for Fremient! Ready to Main :)
I COULD see myself slapping new 5* bow onto Yelan an start zooming around
The way when zajeff said twice and they put up a twice logo on screen... MY DAY IS COMPLETE
Thanks for such a detailed review!
so genshin really went from whole encyclopedias to "buffs dmg"
Attack % craftable weapons are underwhelming even with their high atk bonuses. At the end of the day, having low CR/CD with high attack isn't an option, atk rolls aren't exactly that hard to get, and often aren't even welcome in the first place.
Did you say attack rolls aren't hard to get?
Let me show you my wanderer and Xiao
Kaeya heals with his e and his burst snapshots. Maybe Finale of the Deep will be a great weapon for him (if it allows overheals). So E-Q and boom easily procced. Also wanna test that artifact set for Kaeya too, only issue is the cd for it is 5sec and Kaeya’s e is 6sec so he won’t be able to stack it…
If you enjoy main DPS Kaeya like I do.
They had to do something more than that, it actually closer to a one of the usual casual updates with new areas and characters rather than a major x.0 update
You realize were getting story content and areas for the next 3 patches straight at most right?
@@freshlymemed5680 i couldn't care less about the story, but usually with this type of updates, we get some changes to the system like reactions and stuff, that what made it fresh for the last 2 years at least, i love this game dearly and i obviously want it to never lose it charm
@@hankoiba9032genshin players when they actually have to play the game

something like using a really slow hydro applicator as a utility like barbara to trigger atleast 1 bloom
eating a bloom damabe and healing it would get you 2 stacks if it works as its says
Don't know if it would be worth the loss of the team slot
3:35 the word is “Universal”
Couple thoughts:
The Battle Pass Catalyst has some real potential on crit Kokomi
The craftable Polearm looks like an interesting option for burst Zhongli since if you build him for damage without fav he usually has energy problems. This could help with that.
Crit kokomi isn’t gonna be optimal because of how many other stats you need to sacrifice for that extra 100 cr
Flower of Life (shown around 5:00) I'd give a Widsith + CD-Circlet Barbara. Assuming HP change means both directions (down and up)
For Lyney I think that for most players Zhongli, Bennett and Xiangling will be the best team mates.
How many and What are DMG% source Lyney can get?
dehya's circle if i'm correct is also really small.
im so happy they finally buffed fischl. she is so bad even with dendro
zajeff really likes cooldown reduction mechanics i see.
Missed you zajoof
i cant wait to go to Fontaine unlock the domains then play my xiangling hyperbloom against the new enemies with no pneuma combo so they dont stun then i die in my bennett field because they get mega ultra cock balls buff when you use pnuema focalors bathwater against them and not navia taylor swift eras tour against them
And here I was waiting for a Pyro DPS that wasn't niche or had limiting gameplay like Hu Tao...and they provide one with even more niche and limitations. Sheeesh. I'm going to have to wait till Natlan to get some Pyro love.

The new one, if the leaks are true, will be mandatory on every crit team that can fit her.
That second artifact set says when current HP changes. Meaning it can go down yes but it says nothing about it not working if it goes back up.. just saying, something to watch. The text just says. "When current HP changes"
Gonna be a good set on a lof characters and teams that like crit rate
2:30 sounds like they tried to make a set to make Dehya decent and forgot other characters, who arent 3*s, exist.
If the hydro archon leaks are true and also has good hydro application the crit artifact set would be an absolute godly buff to hu tao teams
Fr fr
I think they designed her specifically not to work with Hu Tao, since her drain can kill you. But a lot of characters could.
@@rafael_lanaYou use Hu Tao with Zhongli anyway, it doesn't matter if Hu Tao has 2k HP lol.
Hmm.... If Lyney actually increase his base ATK by 100% in mono Pyro team, doesn't it worse when you have Bennett in your team increasing Pyro damage? bc Bennett also give a lot ATK.
If I get a lot def pieces and geo dmg bonus cups in this domain for the Fischl set, it's going straight on my Albedo.
From what we know, the crit rate passive of the 4p can be triggered by furina's hp drain, which would make the release of the set make a lot of sense
I plan on swapping over my rando infusion main from Keqing to Lynette. She seems like a really fun driver for that. Im really excited for the change after playing cryo and pyro Keqing for a year and a half.
