      Warning: the content below breaks the illusion a bit.
      Notice how she said Shrek was pretending when he screamed at peasants?
      This indicates that the dataset she was trained on included articles, scripts and etc, related to Shrek.
      Basically, she knew what the movie was about beforehand.
      What's more impressive is how she can differentiate between the scenes.

Light from stars reaches human eye not instantly, but after period of time, depending the distance to that star (from 5 to thousands of years). 2. @@VoyagerEugen Philosophically speaking, the stars have inspired people for thousands of years. Us looking up wondering what they are has been the origin of tons of myths and stories that helped shape humanity into what it is today. Stories are far more than just light and history, stories are the very fabric of civilization. Sharing stories is what has allowed us to be inspired, to have heroes, morality, culture, the story we tell ourselves and share with the people around us is more of our reality than the actual physical stage on which we play out these stories. That's what the stars represent in a philosophical sense, the wast unknown where only the imagination can truly see.

    Fun fact; Dreamworks did not expect this movie to do well and anytime someone at the studio screwed up they got reassigned to work on this movie, they called it getting Shreked.
    They spent all of their care and attention on Prince of Egypt, and now that movie is largely forgotten about while Shrek will live on forever in meme culture.

      @daniel4647 Місяць тому +17

      @@evylrune They obviously thought it was going to sell, they hired Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy, so they put lots of money in it. They probably just assumed it wasn't going to be as popular as Prince of Egypt. So I'm thinking it was more like a slight downgrade to be put on Shrek, not like a "go into the basement and polish the silverware" kind of punishment. Prince of Egypt is more of a serious movie, and Shrek is like a big parody joke, so it might have been more about prestige too, what they'd rather have on their resume going forward, not knowing it was going to be as huge as it became. Objectively Prince of Egypt is a better movie in most ways, but that doesn't really matter when Shrek is a cult classic, can't beat those as they're more of a phenomenon that can't be replicated.

    • @DreadGir
      @DreadGir Місяць тому +7

      @@daniel4647 Not only that but Shrek was in this ugly new fangled thing that Toy Story made popular; 3D animation. Prince of Egypt was in 2D which at the time was considered a big deal, because of the whole Disney Renaissance. Dreamworks was trying to become the Sega to Disney's Nintendo. So I assume to yoink animators off of the 'illustrious' process of drawing a bunch of pictures to go tweak 3D models was seen as a slap in the face.
      Prince of Egypt is pretty good actually, by the way. It's one of the few stories that takes the whole Christian mythos and treats it like an epic story rather than some real life event that you have to treat with the utmost reverence. Definitely give it a watch if you like classic Disney stuff, it's just as good.

      @daniel4647 Місяць тому +5

      @@NightlyWatch In AI it's a common strategy to use sentiment analysis from NLTK (Natural Language Toolkit) or others. This can give language models additional information under the hood. You could easily use this to animate a character, language model output just goes trough sentiment analysis which spits out a key words like "happy" or "sad" or whatever that is sent to Unity and used to triggers an animation to be played. Then just mix it with random idle animations like blinking, looking side to side, bopping up and down, etc. Or you could just add commands to the system prompt of the AI that it could use to could trigger the animations itself, maybe less reliable but definitely possible, there are even AI's that can control a desktop using this technique, and it's how they play games like Minecraft too which Neuro already does. Or it could just triggers an animation when it says certain keyword. Vedal sends everything to Unity as Neuro's subtitles are part of her character which runs in Unity, so having Unity watch for key words such as *wink* and have it play the wink animation would be really easy. If you just do a combination of two or all of these you should get a pretty good AI controlled character.

      If you haven't seen multimodal models interpreting a scene through sheer analysis then you should look up videos about GPT 4 and other multi modal "AGI". It's not like she's reacting to this real time, vedal probably had to put the whole movie through an AI model first and just synced the output with neuro's speech/or LLM. But yes, it's very possible for AI to interpret movie visuals. Maybe that's why vedal said neuro's running costs are $1k or so a month. He probably rents GPU farms or a service for neuro's other functions

    • @chriskt

      Current AI absolutely CANNOT do what Neuro is doing in real-time. Even if it was given the movie script, it absolutely cannot provide this level of communication without fine tuned prompting! (If it did, it would be better than Gemini and ChatGPT combined, and this guy would be on the news)
      Most likely, what's happening here is a second vtuber animating Neuro, and saying stuff that gets passed through an AI Text-To-Speech tool. Actually it's probably just Vedal himself coz his vtuber thing is a turtle, which lets him use his body to animate Neuro. The latter would require some serious skill to not mess up, which is why I'm positive it's a second vtuber.
