    I hope this video helped those who needed it, it’s not a hard service to perform. I didn’t show on camera, but always lube the seals before installing so they don’t tear.

    Within the last 2 weeks I just replaced the diffs, re-lubed, and put all new driveline bearings in our maxx and hoss. Our rustler is on the new side so I havent done it yet. You learn alot more about your cars when you do something like this yourself. Ive also heard you say you like the rustler the most and I agree. They are all great cars but the rustler on 3s, sledgehammers, and the extreme kit it is so much fun and lively.

      I’ve always said the Rustler is a beast, love it. Thank you for the comments

    The Rustler has a very simple differential, much like the Sledge. The Maxx isn’t that bad also.

    Great video dude,
    Just 1 small comment, @09:00 you say you wanna clean it all so that there is nog grease anymore. i think i would be better to just put a drop of 10.000 in there so the rubber seal has some lube and it wont burn on the metal while rotating and getting al crumbly.
    Just a thought, for the rest i completely love this vid. Keep up the good work

      Good catch, I missed that. I always lube the rubber seals so they don’t tear. Thank you for watching

      No worries, I’m glad you know the correct way to rebuild a diff. Most people don’t take the time to learn this stuff.

    I take off all the seals and drop the housing and gears into the ultrasonic for 10 min to get all residual fluid and debris out then rebuild with fully cleaned parts.

    First time builder here. I bought the 4x4 Stampede kit. It seems both my differentials has quite a high resistance when turning by hand. I disassembled and reassembled them both, tried not to overtighten the screws, but the resistance when turning still feels too high. The gear also feels somewhat grindy. How much resistance is normal?
    Edit: Might be due to the 30k oil. I still had to losen the screws more than i'd like or the resistance would feel to high and grindy'ish.

    hi great video was wondering what gear ratio you use with those sledgehammers ???

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  Рік тому

      11/54, stick ratio. Works great, could go down to a 9/54 if you want.

    If you want to do a deep cleaning what would you recommend using to clean the oil off to use a different weight?

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  5 місяців тому

      WD-40 does a great job breaking down the oil and grease. Then rinse off and air blow it dry, I use an air compressor. COWRC makes a great ultrasonic cleaner.

      Not Qtip as it will leave little strands of cotton everywhere I can't believe he used them.

    Are you using stock shocks, if not what do you run on your rustler?

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  6 місяців тому

      The shocks are GTR from Traxxas. Ultra shock don’t cut it for anything but off road, light jumps, and maybe course racing.

  • @RickyHC
    @RickyHC 4 місяці тому +1

    Why are you using 10 k oil on the rear en 20k on the front

    • @redbanditracing
      @redbanditracing  4 місяці тому

      It changes how the car corners when turning. Thinner oil will loosen the car up, thicker oil will do the opposite

    • @RickyHC
      @RickyHC 4 місяці тому

      Okay because the standard is 30k weight in the front en in the rear diff grease right@@redbanditracing
