    At 64 I have similar experiences as you demonstrate. Mine was a 2008 Rzr but I had the airbox that sucked fine dirt into my intake. As for expense? MORE than my 2006 GMC dually crew cab plus 1997 Lance Legend Fully loaded camper combined! $500 here, $800 there, less than 1300 miles, most expensive toy I ever owned. A toy is what it is. Did I enjoy it. Sure I did. I called it my personal low budget desert runner!
    Because of Polaris, I learned over time Crestliner, a multi purpose boat I thought I wanted to get into (?) NO FRIGGIN way was I going to commit to a bank loan on that EVER. I managed a 2012 JK until two weeks after extended warranty expired, computers went out. Leaving me thousands of dollars in the hole, as Jeep had no Certified Pentistar computers to repair replace. So? I took it in the shorts and sold it back to my dealer discovering later they never got it repaired scrapped it. Took the loss. Never ever resold. Now theres a law suit over 2012 JK’s.
    This second, I don’t own jack squat in boy toys. NO RV either. I now book trips other people are responsible to assure my outdoor experiences are wonderful. I only have to show up, get onboard, the rest is total enjoyment for me without all the cost, repairs, no useless [buying] clothing cold or foul weather clothing needed, boots even. I buy nadda. Once you learn how to rent an excursion, study the outfit offering the fun, get on a plane ✈️ fly there bam! Enjoy. No ice chest needed.
    Guide services are Marvelous. BTW.

    Honestly you helped me make the right decision, I think. I wouldn’t ride a lot like others and I would like to put time elsewhere than upgrading, maintaining and fixing things. ATV it is.

    Just bought a Yamaha yxz love it, well made and great build quality, I had 2 900 Polaris and didn’t think they were so great. Quite a few recalls and things like bushings uncomfortable interior, bad seats, but at the time the power was good I guess. I think that’s one of their only strong points

    I have a 2018 RZR XP1000 4 seat, 2019 RZR XP1000 2 seat and a 2019 RZR RS1, So far no mechanical issues with any of them. I made the mistake and took the 4 seat to the dealer for its first service and got raped for $330, all they did was a oil change. I went on Amazon and bought grease guns and tools needed to service it myself. I take off the belt cover after every ride and clean the belt, clutches and air filter, change the front diff oil myself and the gearbox and engine oil. no problems whatsoever. if you maintain them they are pretty reliable side-by-side's. They are money pits though, there is an unlimited amount of accessories you can buy for these things.

    Off reading is building it to break it so ultimately you can fix it that.is what makes it fun.

  • @ve3xtr
    @ve3xtr 4 роки тому +3

    I'm getting mixed messages here. It held up after so and so miles BUT I've had issues. That's a contradiction. Not to blame the guy in the video but some people are accustomed to buying vehicles that are not reliable and expecting to fix them and still say, "it's a good vehicle". How can it be good if it's always breaking down? I have a 2015 Honda Pioneer 700.....ZERO problems. I had a 2008 Honda Rancher 420 for over 10 years, I had 1 problem, the voltage regulator. I had a 2011 Honda Rancher 420 which I had 8 years and had ZERO PROBLEMS. Polaris is a notch up from the Chinese machines. And maintaining it has nothing to do with its longevity. It's engineering and building a product with cheap parts that will fail prematurely. All these companies do what's called 'accelerated life testing'. They know when a part will fail thus keeping manufacturing costs down and keeping the stealerships happy. Read Consumer Affairs about Polaris track record.

    Exactly why I wouldn't buy a Polaris. THEY LOOK FOR EVERY EXCUSE NOT TO HONOUR THE WARRANTY. Sad but I have to laugh how they won't honor the 'extended' warranty.

      I bought a used one. Took it to my local dealer, and they had no problem taking care of recalls for me. Some other dealers around me are straight up ripoff though.

    I have had one for 3 years and I have not spent a DIME on it for ANYTHING. Stock tires, stock shocks, stock springs, stock bushings, STOCK, STOCK, STOCK and I have the warranty and have it serviced when required at my DEALER, I drop it off after a ride and a week or two later the next time I want to ride it I pick it up, and have had ZERO problems. I hose it down with water after every ride, DONE. BTW, I have had a GRIZZLY for 5 years and it is stock. I haven't even replaced the stock tires for FIVE YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!! I ride for around 80 hours every summer.

    I've watched Matt's Off-road Recovery unit pull a dozen of these things off the dunes and rocks of Utah near Hurricane. Don't think I would care to invest in one, thank you! A jeep is a better investment, although these critters appear to be rather nimble when they're working...

    • @drennenprosser2511

      I'm going to disagree. You just throw money at Jeep's. I have a 2012 RZR 800 with 9k miles and it is running like a champ. I have replaced the spark plugs three times costing me around $100.

    have a 900xc, 900S, and a 1000S. all pretty easy to work on. Plastic painted panels, front plastic bumper, plastic bed are really expensive to replace, get a front bumper! Grease your wheel bearings/bushings, use actual Polaris front diff/rear diff lube, plan on the carrier bearing to fail, and for the love of god don't use Turf mode. Pulling that transmission is not fun when turf mode grenades itself.

    • @NukePooch1
      @NukePooch1 4 роки тому +1

    This guy took 8.5 min to complain about his poor buying habits and lack of time and 30 sec saying he'd buy it again.
    Buddy, why do you have 4 winches? I have 2 ATV's and 2 winches, submerge them, muddy them up, one is a warm one is a champion. Whatever you're doing to need 4, stop it lol.
    If you bought 4 sets of tires for one sxs, you have a buying problem. Half the stuff you complained about buying, you don't need. Sell all the junk and just enjoy the toy.

  • @TheDarkGTAPlayer

    Okay, yeah if you don't keep maintenance records you might as well throw every warranty you have in the trash. Warranties for any vehicle are only valid if you have records of maintenance and follow the maintenance intervals exactly. For example at a dealership or logged in the factory maintenance log book.
    Idk your gripe seems kind of tacky to me.

    Ok this guy just made this sport sound like absolute garbage lol its not that bad. You really just need to maintain the vehicle like any car you would buy. Maybe get some aftermarket parts here and there but its really not that horrible. I will also he has waaaaaaayyyyy more gear than I would EVER use. However he did say he overlands the thing where I mostly day ride so there are differences in stuff you would need and want. The thing is, where you come to spending cash, it is because you love the spirt so much, you want to do this. Then go do this to do this better. Then get this for that. It is not necessary but it will eat you away if you do let it. Most machines now days are ready for anything from the showroom floor. It just comes down to personal preference at the end of the day
