    I saw a video recently that showed a unit that connects to the ECU loom and you can change the mixture settings. I think you can also punch in the altitude and it makes the necessary changes. Should get rid of your power problem.

    Pro Tip:
    The 900 S engine is the same case as the 1000 XP engine, and you can swap out the engine internals with 1000 XP parts and you have a 1000 engine in a 900 trail. You'll need a clutch for a 1000 crank, but all the mounting bolts, and transmission angles are the same and the cvt lines up the same, so you just swap to a 1000 cvt belt and primary clutch. Then you can send your ECU to a tuner and they can reflash it to think it's a 1000 XP and put a 1000 tune on it, and then you have a 1000 XP motor in a 900 S/Trail.
    The front diff is weaker than the 1000 XP but you can swap that too, same size and bolt pattern, but then that means running bigger front axles, so just swap to axles for a 1000 S or 1000 XP, east lake axles are like $90 a piece, good axle.
    So if you get one of these on the cheap used, for about 5 grand you can do all that conversion.
    The steering rack in a 1000 XP and 900 S is the same, just different tie rods.
    Shocks are different and the xp is wider and has trailing arms, but upgrade your 900 S to banditt shocks and with the power train upgrade, you'll have a lot of pros over the XP. The xp is nice, but the 60" width has a lot of advantages on east coast trails, the bigger machines have limited riding areas.
    I did this convert to a 900 trail, but have been piecing it together from others who upgraded or sold their machines and had spare parts. I've got half of what I need for the S convert already and spent less than $600 to get it. I've got $3600 in the motor swap. I need to send my ecu out, that's $500 total with tuner included being sent back to me. And I need to find a front diff. And I'll be dropping about $1600 in Banditt shocks. But I bought the machine for $9000 used in 2017.
    I just build it out a little more over time. When finished it will be a 1000 S with XP Front Diff, 1000 S axles and I'll be pushing more HP due to tune and QSC Rev X clutch upgrades. Then eventually I'll probably send the trans to be rebuilt and geared for higher top speeds.
    Yeah that's a lot of money, but it's 2020, so if you can find a 2015 900 S for say $7000 or cheaper, you can upgrade it to the power of a 1000 XP for less than 5 grand and probably be better than a stock 2017-2018 1000 XP in terms of power.
    Imo 2015 was a good year, 2017 has a crap bushing design. And a lot of the newer parts like wheel bearings etc from the 2017-2020 models, fit the 2015 wheel hubs, they've been using the same hubs for 5+ years.

    The only problem with this machine is that altitude problem, you see the 2015 Can Am X ds Turbo has a stock built in solution.

    Still figured polaris would of made a change in the industry about led headlights on all new models......

    The part about the 900s being fast Acceleration in 1000 XP is not true my buddies got the 900 s and my 1000xp is a lot fast off the line and top speed

      The 900 is around 80 MPH.
