    This machine is very similar to the original razor 800 from back in 2009. Before the razors really grew in size

    Nice catch on an interesting new model Alex. I like it a lot. Here in SW Missouri there are a lot of tight and overgrown trails that it would work well on.

    Excellent job Alex. Very thorough review. Bigger is not always better and this machine proves that point.

    I have had a 570, 800 and 900 50 inch trail rzr. All were capable but the 900 did everything easier. Most important on any of them is to get the upgraded shocks like fox or walker evans. They make a huge difference on your driving experience.

    As someone who upgraded from a 2019 Sportsman 570 to a 2022 Rzr Trail I love the trail. A lot safer now that my 7 y.o. son joins me, gets me everywhere we've gone here in NY at ease.

    I had a Rzr 570 and that thing was actually a ton of fun on tight trails. Was sufficient for tight trails I bet the bigger power plant is definitely plenty.

    Definitely would be fun on the tight trails. I have a RZR S4, and occasionally it can be a bit cumbersome (though it’s mostly a blast!)

    I have this trail model and a can am X3 XMR RR 72". I LOVE my little rzr. fits on ATV trails and is a surprisingly capable machine. Lots of power but it is easy to roll. I've rolled mine twice

    Best part about the trail version. When you go to 50 inch limited trails and the dcnr really means 50 inch and they give you 52 inches to fit through, you don't see many sxs on those trails but the rzr trails you do.

  • @Vulnox
    @Vulnox 2 роки тому +1

    I really like this. Much like how a Jeep will always be better on trails than a Raptor due to size, something like this will get you into a lot more places and have less chance of getting stuck than the giant 4 person SxS. If it does get stuck, you aren’t trying to push the equivalent of a car. For actual trail riding, this seems ideal. Of course biggest issue is if you are trying to take the family. But it’s a nice option for those that want something capable and cost effective.

    I got the 2020 RZR 900 trail Fox edition with the ride command and have just been in love with the machine! Named her Reba! The best part about the 50” is leaving the big boys to play around on the forest service roads while I’m on winding trails through tree hallways to mountain peaks and glacial lakes. Never had to question the amount of power or whether or not I needed a turbo to compensate for something else…😁. Got 2500+ miles and it’s been super dependable. You don’t have to worry about burning up belts near as much with these because the power to weight ratio is pretty damn impressive. Two men can easily flip it. One thing I’m wondering is why can’t I run the same tire all the way around? The rear are smaller and fatter. For what I do, where I go, it would be much more reliable to have the same size tire all the way around.

      Why can't you run same tire all around ? I did on my old wildcat trail . And plan to do the same on my 22rzr trail as soon as I burn the factory tread off . Only issue I ever had on wildcat trail was at full turn I would get rub on the swaybay from one of the lugs . Ran it 4 3 yrs like that never did anything but wear off the paint in a 3/4 inch patch on swaybar .

    • @ezrabisson3610
      @ezrabisson3610 2 роки тому

      No not really you have to really work hard to tip em over . We have 5 in our crew and only had ti roll 3 of them back on rubber over the yrs . Love the 50 inch stuff. I honestly liked my wildcat trail better because it was not drive by wire .
      But I have found the best trails all over the midwest are the 50inch and under . Zero question . To the point that if we are going to gated aria places we don't ask the boys in the crew with the bigger toys to come and end up getting grounded to the less technical family trails

    I own one. It is NOT a 50" machine. It measures around 53" straight from Polaris at its widest point. Out here in Utah we have a lot of 50" trails. They regulate these trails with a gate that is usually 54" . . . sometimes more, sometimes less. The extra 2" or 3" is usually not a big issue but I'm saddened that Polaris will not belly-up to the truth. I assure you when anyone, other than Polaris, really measures this machine at its widest point, they will find that it is NOT a 50" machine if you want to get technical.

      If you ask an engineer they will tell you the tires don't count in the factory measurement. The Trail 50 is 50" outer rim to outer rim. Since there are so many different tires that measure differently the wheel rims are the measurement of width. I have a 2019 Trail 50 and it measured 52 1/2" when it was new.

      The problem is the over zealous forest ranger with a tape measure or the atv rider that feels it’s his responsibility to be the enforcer when he sees you squeezing through a gate.

    The RZR Trail 900 is dumb and I mean that in the best possible way. It's not a good machine for new and inexperienced operators. That's a ton of power for a 50 inch wide track and I love that it exists because they are incredibly fun to rip on if you know what you are doing. It's cool to see the Ride Command system is available in it, as well.
    Can Am makes the Maverick Trail 1000 which has the same power I likebtheir v-twin better and I think Can Am's clutch and CVT are a bit better. I also prefer the ergos inside the Maverick. You sit lower and it feels a bit more planted than the RZR which inspires more confidence in a narrower track machine.
    Easier said than done right now with all the shortages, but try and look at both and see which one suits you. Both of these are lower cost options to the $20k+ RZRs and Mavericks that obviously offer higher performance and better suspension, but these smaller trail models are plenty of machine for most people and easier to store and transport.
