Just another video on how I replaced the front brake pads & rotors on a 2014 Mini Cooper.
This really wasn't a difficult job once we had the correct parts. This vehicle was manufactured in March of 2014, the manual in the glove box says 2014, the title says 2014, and the Vin decoder online says that it was a 2014 Model. The local parts stores had a hard time finding the correct sensors for this vehicle because they said it's probably not a 2014 model. We were able to finally find the ones we needed by looking up the parts for a 2015...
Tools needed:
13mm wrench and/or socket
18mm wrench and/or socket
6mm allen wrench or hex key
8mm socket
diagonal pliers or tool to remove the plastic snap on the sensor cover
10mm socket
large flatblade screwdriver
torque wrench
caliper compression tool or C-clamp
Brake grease
Wire brush
Brake cleaner
Torque specs that I found online:
19 ft. lbs for the small allen bolt that attaches the rotor
81 ft. lbs for the larger caliper bracket bolts
23 ft. lbs for the caliper slide pin bolts
Here is the video showing how I replaced the rear brake pads & rotors on this same vehicle:

Thanks Dan for the knowledge
One of the best videos I’ve seen on UA-cam tutorial for this make and model , I own a cooper 2019 model and The OEM pads are made of a very weak material, I only get around 10-15k miles out of the pads , that’s how bmw mini make their money 😂
Hi there. Thanks for putting this video out there.
The part where u don’t open the master cylinder reservoir, does it apply to Cooper s also?
Very nice video. Good lighting, well explained, your hands and arms weren't in the way, gave the specs. Etc... Can you do a 2nd video on the rear brakes?
Thank you, but sorry, my neighbor no longer has this vehicle.
Take care,
-Dan
Nice clear video no unnecessary waffle thanks. Mine is Cooper 2010 I have same issue with parts as it was built on changeover. Just a cpl of quick questions… did you use new Caliper bracket bolts and/ or guide pin bolts? My Haynes manual says to and it cost me 40 GBP for 8 Caliper bracket bolts! I was thinking of putting lo title on the old guide pin bolts and reusing them, I have done that many times over the tears on different cars.
Great question, No, I didn't get new caliper bracket bolts. I put the old ones back in and had no troubles at all.

Is the master cylinder the same as the Brake fluid container? were you add brake fluid
Hi Leonel,
The master cylinder is just underneath the master cylinder reservoir (where you add the brake fluid.) I sometimes refer to the reservoir as the master cylinder because it's usually right on top of it, or attached to the top of the master cylinder.

@@DantheFixitMan Help!
Is this procedure the same on a 2019 countryman S?
It's probably very similar to the 2019, but I would make sure you get the correct specs etc. for that year and model.
Best of luck to you.
Thanks for watching!

@DantheFixitMan I just reviewed another video for the 2019 countryman S. It's the same procedure.
Nice Job.
