Hey guys that's a Quadrajet Carb, That tube in the center fill it with gas, That go's right into the bowls, That will keep it running till the fuel pump start's working.
Your tools are almost as organized as mine!
i keep the important ones on the passenger seat, and everything else on the floorboards...

a mechanic friend spent 200 on just a wrench set so sure, could be a 300 dollar ratchet. would not surprise me. unrelated its funny how you go from drill instructor to flower farming. reminds me of Bob Ross sorta.

Ok how many fans saying just fill carb through vent. It's very hard to get syphon going through top of fuel can. Good job though not giving up
I don't know if such a thing exists but a little solar powered fan with a magnetic base would be handy to keep ya cool while working in the heat under the bonnet.

Hank and Wiley if you haven't figured it out. Maybe you could have jerry-rigged a hose from Hank's gas can. That already have it down flow. Through the hose to the carb. For a constant gas flow. Good luck

I was getting my truck worked on in ponca city Oklahoma at fleet pride which used to be Harlan's diesel repair and I saw a mack engine sitting outside on a stand and I thought I bet you two could get it started lol Your doing it all wrong.Go to a junk yard and and pick the ones that aren't in the truck.....

Hank save Wally from having to suck on hose. Get a primer bulb, they are mostly used in boats. Will make your life a lot easeier to get fuel from a gas can.
I have a Leatherman P2 Multitool ended up getting it free and they go for $130 dollars on their website. I ended up finding it laying on the ground next to the street at our local post office next to some dead fish. Someone dumped some dead fish on the ground and must have dropped the Leatherman P2 Multitool in the process. I must say the multitool smelled really bad I ended up soaking it in dish soap and bleech for for 20 mins. I like the multitool I use it quite often around the house.

Ya'll need to invest in a couple a squirt bottles to feed the carb bowl on these save poor ol wiley from tastin gas for a week. just fill up the carb thru the vent tube easy as pie. That rv for sale?

I've seen dealership sell the exact one for $15000 no problem. They walk off the lot themselves.
Matter of fact you can probably go find one right now online for sale. If it's in decent shape, they're asking at least $8k for it. And some people have paid close to $20k if it has a diesel engine.
Believe it or not, these motorhomes have metal cage and metal roof trusses.
If it doesn't have too much
damage inside, that's a good gas motorhome. Pace Arrow is a fine motorhome and Fleetwood was a very good brand back then, #1.
It's just not very extravagant or over the top as far as materials go. But it's built right.
i would say a big No to putting water, on a fuel fire, and would use foam or CO2 instead of.
My 1996 needed a crank senor replaced and a melted plug wire, no heat shield put on with new tuneup ugh runs like a heavy Chevy now , senor eas in distributor, old school 454 Chevy big block

In a carburetor on a gas engine does not suck you have to have a fuel pump.
I worked for a Ford dealer in service dept as a lot porter some RVs had the 7.5 460 in some they were fun to park

Spray some ethier on that it'll put the fire out. On a carbureted engine pour a little gas down into the carburetor in order to prime it you don't normally need ether on a gasoline engine. 10-4 good buddy you got your ears on?

If you have a small fire like that again just a damp rag with water will put it out.

If you are going to be doing gas engines get an old riding mower tank that you can hang above the engine.

And the only ones that overheat are the 454s
Ford doesn't have a problem with overheating.
Also fyi, any engine is going to get hotter climbing hills. Even diesel engines get hotter climbing hills. That's why they have gauge for transmission temperature.
