At her heaviest Laura Micetich AKA “The Iron Giantess” weighed 320lbs. Laura’s weight spiralled out of control due to her unhealthy relationship with food, including binging on doughnuts for breakfast. Fed up with her size, she decided to look into getting a gastric sleeve procedure - which required her to lose some weight beforehand. After mastering a home UA-cam workout, she joined the college gym and fell in love with bodybuilding, losing over 100lbs in a year naturally without getting the surgery. Laura now weighs 180lbs and as one of LA’s top fitness coaches, with a number of high-profile clients, has finally come to embrace the childhood nickname she hated - the Iron Giantess.

“You fail over and over and over again, until you realize you’re not failing, you’re growing!”
I’ll hang onto this quote.
My favorites quote indeed! Failure is best lesson in life because you’ll appreciate the blessings at the end.
Me too
don't compare your middle to some ones end. as some one who has no self confidence or self worth i fight to remember this.
“You fail over and over until you tell yourself, it’s not failure, it’s growing.”
I love love love that mentality! I am still struggling with this all-or-nothing, perfectionist thinking and it’s disastrous because I keep thinking of “mess ups” with my diet, exercise, and sleep as failure. That’s not true.
I’m so grateful her video story came across my notifications. She’s a beautiful and determined woman and truly an inspiration. I’m no longer going to wait for a “good day” to get back on track: my good day starts NOW.
You either succeed, or you learn
YOU GO💪🏻 I have also started 3weeks back at the gym for my transformation and actually started my diet control in April 2020 so yes it took me time coz no gyms were open due to corona but I was doing my bits but I didn't realised I lost 27kgs till now and I was 120kg girl , I'm still in the process ..sometimes I make progress.. sometimes I don't , I self analysis where did I went wrong and try to correct it . Power to you💪🏻 Keep going through ups and downs .
Don't be disheartened just remember you have not reached the goal ❤️ "You are not just working out hard but You're preparing to unleash the best version of yourself" - quote from my gym , this quote gives me power ❤️ thought you might too feel it☺️
That's awesome! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
@@Hereforthekettle i love that quote!! Thank you so much and you’re such an inspiration to make it this far! You’re absolutely right we just have to keep going. Good luck and I wish you peace and joy on your lifelong journey of healthy living! Cheers!💗💗🌸🌺
YES YES YES!!
What am authentic story that isn’t exaggerated. She is very relatable and the end part reminds of my education journey, it has been tough but I’m stronger.
🙏
She is like a real-life amazon. She would be perfect as Wonderwoman!
She already is Wonder Woman!
She's better than wonder-woman
Gale Gadot has that position and their is NO ONE better for it.
But amazons are considered to be strong and judging by her workouts she doesn't know how to train to become strong, she just did a lot of cardio and others stuff, I assume some things good some mistakes that in the end lead her to loose weight, which is good for her but nothing to do with her becoming strong or an "expert" in this.
@@jotr.9786 ? 6 90 min weight training workouts per week and only 2-3 20 min cardio sessions. I'd say she didn't just do a lot of cardio, and definitely knows how to train to become strong...both mentally and physically. One doesn't have that kind of transformation without strength of mindset and body.
"I stopped thinking that a tiny screw-up meant I'd absolutely failed" - needed to hear this 💗 I'm always so hard on myself and I just can't stop it. I don't even believe in myself anymore, I don't trust that I can achieve whatever I want to achieve😔
@Shay Bae thankyou for this!! :)
I believe you can achieve whatever it is youre trying to reach. Think about your end result to help push you through, remember why youre doing what youre doing. You got this!
Yes you can! But remember to give yourself some grace at the beginning, middle, or end of your day!💗
Sabrina, I understand you. It is hard to stop being so hard on ourselves, this is also a journey. If you have the opportunity go to therapy, a good psychologist can help you with that.
And remember to plan ahead, but live one day at a time. Some days you can give 100% others you can only give 10%, and this is fine.
You can also try yoga and meditation, it also helps a lot.
I send you a big hug and I hope you feel better in time.
@@melanieg760 thankyou :)
Amazing transformation!! I remember starting my own about a year ago. I bought a diet plan from Dietarizzee and started doing some exercises at home. My brother was making fun of me, thinking I will give up. But day after day, meal after meal, I managed to do it. I lost 75 lbs thanks to my diet and dedication and I´m feeling a lot happier now. I can finally tie my shoelaces without holding my breath.😀
That’s awesome that you’ve come so far!! Sad that your brother couldn’t support you, but at least you learned that you have everything within YOURSELF to completely transform your life. Congrats on your transformation and I wish you the best for everything else you set out to do in your life. 🏋🏾♂️
Keep up the good work homie!! Your name is River, that means… you can’t be stopped!
@@call_me_cooper haha good stuff, thanks
Congratulations! 🎊🎉 75 lbs is a huge accomplishment and really just the beginning of a host of amazing things that you are going to accomplish.
So you didn't need to.workout?

Anxiety, depression, and being overweight are really tough! Congrats to you !!! You are stunningly beautiful and we need more Latinas in this field! Thank you for being an incredible inspiration to those that need that extra push and inspiration to keep moving forward! Mil gracias y luces muy bella!
I find it interesting I was watching this video and then reading through the comments and not once did I think oh this is a Latina woman. I simply thought oh this is a woman who used to be obese and is now very fit. Congratulations to her. I’m only commenting because it just shows the differences and how we all view things.
@@firefeethok_tui2355 It may seem strange but when you are part of an underrepresented community and you see someone in your community doing awesome things it touches you.
@@gabbicassell7704 i can see that. But So many people dont view or see her as a minority. just see her as a woman who did a really difficult and cool think. So I guess a lesson for us all, we are our own worst enemy and we all make assumptions about other peoples views toward us that may not be true. We likely attribute the attitude of others towards ourselves, the same as our own attitiudes are towards ourselves.
@@firefeethok_tui2355 I understand what you're saying but... you should try and understand what others are saying as well. I too appreciate the video more because she's a Latina. To see her go through her struggles and to succeed... it makes it feel all the more possible for other Latinas. She's an inspiration as a person, as a woman, and as a Latina.
Is she Latina? Her last name is Micetich and she is from Canada, I can’t find anything about her being Latina. Her last name could be a married name or inherited from her father with her mother being Latina, can’t find anything on that either. She could also be of mixed asian decent, or mixed Samoan decent. Either way, when I first saw her I didn’t see her as any race, I saw her as a strong woman and a strong human being.
„It‘s not failing - it‘s just growing“ ♥️
I love that her face still looks full. She was pretty before, gorgeous afterwards

Lol u blind? She obviously uses botox and fillers or hyaloronic acid. Hence the slightly swollen face. Geeez I hate when people can't see obvious procedures.
That’s normal when you’re young. The facial fat starts to gradually lessen in your 30s hence the more gaunt look when you lose weight in your 30s and upward.
@GodEmbodiment I didn't say that she's ugly. I was speaking facts what she did to her face. Noob!
She not only lost the weight but she bulked up too...
All within a year damnnnnnnnnn girlllll
Ikr, she looks way stronger now despite going from very overweight to normal BMI
I read her bio. She lost the weight, 100lbs, in a year by 2016, but gained the muscle over about 5 years now. By 2017 it said she'd dropped from the 320 to 115 lbs. Read about her here if others are interested www.greatestphysiques.com/female-physiques/laura-micetich/
“You just fail over and over and over, until you decide it’s not failing, it’s just growing.” That actually made me cry. I needed to hear that, and I’m going to keep that in mind every day thru my own journey with losing weight and weight lifting! You’re amazing!!
Ugh. My heart. She stole it. Shes so gorgeous I can't even
I love her. I've been following her a while. She changed my mind on tummy tucks and surgery after you've worked hard to get in shape.
She’s gorgeous and inspiring, definitely staying focused to achieve my goal even more now
Wow I’m so sad this was only 5 and a half minutes, I really loved listening to her story. She is so genuine and beautiful
Oh man, what you said in the end about others thinking there’s something superhuman about it and that not being true is SOOO true. I also struggled with weight loss for years, thinking it would never happen or that I was lacking something until it FINALLY did last year. It’s just up to us to never give up on our dreams and find what works best for us to make those dreams come true. Thank you for telling your inspiring story; I hope it helps others in their weight loss journeys!
she got almost the same data as me but for me its like i was at about 320 too and now i am at 231. For me it changed or i realised when i didnt fit in a free fall tower at an adventure park. Im gonna go there tomorrow again, after one year... i hope ill fit now
I can relate more than you know.
Congratulations hun! You will fit, I just know it! Keep going sister! 💪🏻❤️💪🏻
You’re so brave for even wanting to go on those drop towers. Congrats!
The most impressive thing is she did not have loose skin from heavy weight lost.
Because she did a lot of weightlifting and not just cardio
She did and she had surgery. It's on her IG
She did but it was after she had done all that she could do.
Yes because of the heavy weight!!! I was the same as she!!! Lovely stop and hard work 😓 I was on gym 6 days and Sunday always rest !!! You loose weight faster
She had to have had surgery. Skin doesn’t just disappear no matter what you lift, that’s just a fact
She’s so incredible. I am so proud of anyone who overcomes the intense struggles of their ED.
She’s such a sweet girl and I love her positive attitude. What an inspiration. 💙
"You never fail, you just grow" - this has really struck something within me. I've always felt the same about being able to things straight away & wouldn't try new things incase I failed. Now I'm going to remember her wise words and try the things I've been afraid to. Thank you. ❤

In 1 year, that’s insane. She’s very strong willed, she deserves to be proud
This video is the type of thing I LOVE to watch. It’s NOT an easy journey and I appreciate that she pointed that out in the way that she did. She’s genuine and her emotions were authentic. Congrats to you and all your ongoing accomplishments. 💖
So inspiring! As somone who always felt that I had to excel at everything right away, this touched me deeply. It was the most surprising revelation to me when I found out in my late twenties that it's ok to make mistakes at the beginning of something new, that people train to get better and that you shouldn't expect to be able to do everything immediately. I still have that perfectionist in me and I work hard to silence that voice a little but at least my brain now knows better.
I would love to have her as my trainer. She's so strong physically and mentally but vulnerable at the same time. I need to work on that. I'm so scared that just like her I have used food as comfort and pretending to be strong when in reality I'm crumbling inside.
I would love another video with more of her routine and especially her diet. Great job Laura, you are magnificent.
This has got to be the most humble weight loss journey vid I've seen. My gosh! You are just beautiful & relatable! Thx for sharing! The struggle is real, but I'm not failing, I'm growing: Get up, Grace yourself, Go on! 💕

I love what you said about failing in the gym. I think that’s one reason that I’ve loved the weight room for decades. Failure breeds success. Thank you for sharing your story.
She’s stunning. Incredible transformation
I wish I had motivation to exercise without stopping.
Just make it part of your lifestyle by integrating it into your daily routine. Once you build it as a habit you won't be able to stop because you won't want to.
Trust me, I used to be a couch potato and now I feel like crap if I don't do any exercise for even just a day.
I started working out in 1980, and now at 70, I work out everyday. Days off r cardio yoga. Was in two really bad accidents, and docs said if I hadn't been so fit would have ended up in nursing home
@@barbarajohnson3876 good to know it pays off!
I'm 29 and couldn't imagine not doing vinyasa yoga nearly every day, cardio 3 times a week and weight lifting twice a week. Fittest I've ever been lol.
My mother is 65 and used to be very active in her youth with karate, horse riding and walking everywhere. She still walks all the time even though now she has bursitis of the hip and fibro, but I've finally persuaded her to buy a mat and a couple yoga blocks so she can do some over 60s yoga videos. Hopefully it will help her to hold on to the strength she has now for as long as possible.
