I installed one of these in my 2005 Ford. I usually find the cheapest fuel prices at small stations in town. Saves a lot of money and you don't have to always stop at truck stops. Usually lasts me about three travel days.
The little ball in the brass valve on the T is not a roll over valve. It is designed to stop the flow of the fuel from the AUX tank when the trucks tank is full. Otherwise on some vented systems it would run out the filler cap on truck tank. If you were to roll over all the fuel will leak out the filler cap on the AUX tank because that is the built in vent for the tank. I added another vent line to under the bed so if the fuel gets hot and runs over it wont vent into the bed of the truck.

Greg that line on top of your filler neck line is actually your tank vent line your def lines are in the wire loom

Before all you old guys start crying, "But I have to pee every hour anyways", the aux tank is a money saver so you can shop for fuel and buy it when you want it, not just when you need it. I run fuel apps and 2 accounts and can save $80+ on a fill up because I run a 91g Aux tank too.

I agree that the ratchet strap is probably more secure, but if you’re subject to DOT regulations at least put some bolts in the holes on the tabs so it looks mounted.
I’ve had pretty good luck finding auxiliary and transfer tanks used for less than half the price of new ones.

I looked at these tanks but decided to spend a little more on a TransferFlow Trax 4 - fill the tank and forget about it.

Oh one more thing. Put an inline filter tween the reserve tank and main line tee.

Especially with the aluminum tank ,attracts moisture ,a water separator filter unit .

Hopefully you cleaned the rubber shavings from the saw out of the hose before you added the connection. That application is made for a hose cutter. A saw should not be used. I appreciate you showing the install though. I always wondered how those worked. The extra fuel capacity is good peace of mind when traveling to the unknown. Thanks

Ok , minor detail that i believe is important, the fuel tap from the tank ,needs to be close to the truck bulk head ,where it is now is vulnerable to veing knocked (even if you have used this way for years )there will be a first time ,and maybe a upgraded valve ,ball valve ,big red handle easy to use and stronger.
The hose routing could be tided up some what ,tucked in the corner out of harms way .
Another tip that you might look at is using marine application fittings, rigging hose and panel grommets, gives a nice finish and protection for the fuel lines ,only a suggestion.
Another point is that you dod not protect the drilled holes for rust ,paint or rust inhibitor, lanolin spray ,fluid film ,you are in the rust belt ?and probably near coastal sea water spray !
Digging deep ,i would even install a strong cross bar to protect the fuel tank for that one ib a million time the fifth wheel cines un hitched and the RV comes powering forward,i presume the short bed would allow the contact to happen?
Im keen to see the double hitch for the RV,one might be worried that the frame isnt up to it ,based on industry failings !
Cheers ,and i do get the quick n easy install, just like to see things sone ro a standard.

Appreciate the input, sir. I didn't show sealing up the two holes with silicone as I ran out of time, but yes very crucial up north, also, the 55 gallon tank comes pre-drilled and tapped for the shut off valve so unfortunately I didn't have a say in where to put it, appreciate your input, brother.

Hi guys, while filming in-between cuts I actually switched the blade over to my insulation cutter which is a long solid razor blade, it cuts clean and doesn't have any 'teeth', I didn't get to edit that part. I've had buddies who've used a bi-metal blade to cut their filler neck and had no problem. Long and short of it, if you do end up using a finer 'tooth' styled blade, the particulate is so small and minimal and would not make it past a fuel filter.

Remaining an adult, remaining an adult, remaining an adult,………….
Ok on a more serious and “adult” note have you done a video on what tool you think are important to bring with you on an Rv pulling trip? If not I’d love to see some of the tools you either have used or think are important to have out on the road.
I’m new to pulling an Rv and I’ve got AAA buy but being the man I am I can’t help but be prepared for things out in the road.

@@sstoner911When you add the aux tank....45 extra gallons of fuel....the spare tire from the camper...hitch....pin weight and 2 adults avg wgt...the total is close to 3800 pounds. Now actual pin will be higher with batteries...LP gas...clothes etc in the bedroom...the full weight of the truck fuel and DEF...as well as everything that might be added to the front compartments and truck bed. The final weight will be at or above the trucks max.

@@waltfriedrich7631 I would bet you $ 500 hes under his payload with the 5vr he has and the pin weight - which includes the king pin - that's not separate. I have a 50 gallon aux tank and when I hit the scales with my 5ver, which is 16K loaded, I am stull under my payload. Your trailer with LP and batteries, spare tire, refrigerator , toilet are not part of payload..that's towing CAPACITY. Payload is only including the weight in the truck and the weight either from pin weight on a goose neck or 5ver or the tounge weight of a bumper pull. I think you have towing capacity and payload confused. But either way he is fine.
