- In this video I'll show you a tip I learned for wire wrapping a deep faceted gemstone. I have a large 60 carat faceted quartz with a really deep cullet and I wanted to do a wire wrap on it so I could show case it. I came across a blog by Caral Ladine and she had the perfect solution! I've admired her work ever since.
Carol has since passed away in 2011.

Please do a tutorial on this style of wrap! I have so many faceted stones, and I’ve been trying to find a way to wrap them so that they don’t rock back and forth, and this is the only design I’ve seen that is aesthetically pleasing while working with the depth of the faceted stone!! I would be so excited to be able to learn from your work! Beautiful job on that stunning gem!

What an amazing gem. My neighbor just gave me a huge faceted stone she wants me to make something with. I don't have much experience with facets.. I'm at a lost and this is amazing.

Exactly what I was looking for! I cut faceted gem stones and am cutting a rather large blue topaz for a pendent. I had no idea how I was going to mount it, now I do, although I have limited experience wire wrapping I'll give it a go. Thank you!

I love it. Just got into wire wrapped jewelry during this stay home thing and it's so fun. This is very elegant looking. Love how you did the prong settings and very clever way to keep the back of stone protected and still be able to see through it. Is that silver wire? It's so shiny still flawless from 2008! I can't stand how my coated copper wire looks when I make something and the pliers sometimes slip and reveals the copper underneath or on the cut ends. Just ruins the look. Wished my pieces were as perfect as yours. Practice makes perfect right.
Aww thanks! Yes! Practice makes perfect for sure! You are so right about coated wire. They nick easy and you can’t polish it. I use coated wire for my cheaper items to keep cost down but I really like sterling silver and bare copper for my special pieces. You can oxidize them and polish them up! I used sterling in this pendant.

No videos. I learned back in 2005 and searched the internet. Found pictures but had to figure it out in my own.

Bait? If I wanted to look at Pendants, then I would just go to some store. Maybe other people wanna just hang out and listen to you talk. I am not sure why.I am not on board so much as other people are, but I am just going to try to find a way to block this video channel so that I don't have to see it over and over again When
I do a search. And then I won't make any Distracting comments. I don't want to disturb whatever enjoyment other people are getting out of these videos. CLEARLY I dont have as much time to fiddle around as others do. Maybe I need to perfect my search techniques when I am looking for tutorials. I'm gonna work on that and find a wire artist who gives verbal tutorials.
