No one cared, because the story and acting were top notch. CGI when you have no talent is just a crutch to disguise the fact that you have no talent.
I imagine this movie has the latest and greatest CGI possible. Unfortunately, they neglected to write a story that people cared about or characters and maybe the actors behind them that people liked. If you can't get the basics down, the rest is fluff.

Funny how House of Dragon has strong females leads, a diverse cast and gay characters yet its HBO's most watched show. I would holler "tax write off," but I don't think Disney has ever done that for a film. No matter if that said film is bad or not. If they did, Disney would have done it with Snow White already. I have never seen the Deadpool movies, but now I kind of feel obligated to watch them. I'll probably watch the first one tonight to prep for Deadpool and Wolverine. I hope there good.

They completely finished this film 3 times. 3 complete rewrites including reshoots.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Dogshit probably didn't have this many reshoots and they completely lost their ass on that film. This will be a glorious bomb and Jizzney STILL won't take the hint.

I guarantee most of the money was spent on CGI changes and poor writing. The best action films rely on practical effects, a great cast, and a good plot. Disney hasn't had that winning formula in years.

I think even more. 850-900 mil is just to break even from cinema theaters. Most likely there will be another 100-200 mil+ for marketing and ads.
$400 mil budget + $150 mil marketing you're looking at 550 mil at least. Movie theaters take half so they need to do about 1.1b to break even.

Food service costs a lot on location. Back in the day for the show "The Rockford Files", they said the show never turned a profit. James Garner had to sue them to get his cut per the contract. They played games like "Renting" the iconic Pontiac Firebird every time they needed to show it to bump up the "Expenses". And of course you had to have more than one, just in case. Normal people would have the scripts for a bunch of episodes and would know months in advance where the car needed to be seen. You'd shoot a lot of "Car" for a week straight to get a lot of it out of the way and insert clips when stitching episodes together. They'd do the opposite.
Disney's going to spend over half a billion dollars on this movie when marketing is included...

Because they are being funded to push an agenda on kids and their kids when they have them. Repetition is the best propaganda. The reported budget for the Acolyte is much larger than the figure being reported. That is the original budget minus reshoots and delays etc. The actual amount is likely closer to $250 - $275 Million when all is said and done. That figure does not include the marketing costs either!

There has to be money laundering going on. Every Disney project balloons in budget but it never shows on screen.
I believe that half the time it is money laundering but a lot is overpaying no name actors and directors as well as creating/destroying sets/props/costumes because they write these scripts on the fly it feels like. They also will toss them on a whim to make something completely different.
