It's a silly looking suit. But that kind of fits Gunn's brand. His work is very comedic. If you're expecting a more serious Superman like the ones with Henry Cavil you're going to be disappointed.

People also need to understand that while comics ook accuracy is needed in some instances ,it doesn't mean directly from comics is always a good thing...there's a reason why snyder had to go the direction he did with man of steel to translate the character to live audiences...hardcore fans might love the comic book come to life campy cartoon nature of this but general audiences wont always eat it up...And I agree issues with Gunn is something many seem to overlook including 'this side of the political aisle' that tends ot be sensitive to stuff like this hence why many dont like ezra miller (even though he has obvious mental issues on top of what he was doing) and Gunn is on the low should be questioned about stuff that seem even more extreme....I do think copyright should exists and have some reasonability to it but yeah the constant extension of it due to hollywood companies (esp. disney) is annoying.

1. Fans want Henry Cavill’s Superman back
2. People hate the new suit

4. People are not going to the movie theatres anymore, the pandemic was a huge blow for movie theatres

Anyone noticed that many people already gave their opinion on the new Superman movie that will come out in 2025, a movie that isn't finished yet, we never watched and there's not even a single trailer for, still James Gunn, the actors in this movie, absolutely noone working on this project came out to attack the fans for saying their opinion about it
However we watched many other projects from start to end, didn't like it and gave our honest opinion about it but the directors and some untalented actresses attacked the fans for not liking their projects for example Brie Larson, Tatiana Maslany and that one who made the diss track attacking the fans
Unfortunately that’s the way things are. The internet has turned average people into experts on everything. I miss the days when people would reserve judgement until after the movie trailers came out. Now movies are considered a flop the moment the project is announced.
The outfit isn't my favourite, but I'll still give it a chance to watch. Superman is one of my favourite heroes. Ever since my dad told me bedtime stories, instead of the cat in the hat, he would tell me stories of Superman. My father is a collector of Marvel and DC, I learned it all from him. I want to give it a chance, but I am so scared they are going to ruin this like everything else I love.
I'm tired of giving Hollywood a chance on anything these days. They don't respect the fans nor the lore. All they want to do is use the franchise for personal money gain instead of creating passionate projects that respect these beloved characters.

It doesn’t even look like an S anymore! It looks like a line through a shield. The bulkiness and the wrinkles in the suit makes it look like what Superman wears to bed, his pajamas. 😂
Superman's suit has always been corny but I am very glad they are embracing the corny. Superman is an awesome corny super hero that is what makes him fun stop trying to make him Batman.
I hate the collar they gave Superman and the belt loops on the trunks look stupid and it just reminds me of a '90s alternate kids cartoon toy like all the different little outfits they used to make for Superman back in the 90s for the Animated Series
Why have the guy work out and get big and then put him in a suit that in some places, bunches up and looks baggy and in others it looks rubbery, and in others looks like felt with rubber glued onto it, which I guess means they're going to try to tell us his mother made it... I don't know if it would have made a big difference, but this is a great example of why you always get out ahead of set photos with really well produced shots of the new suit because this thing is getting torched online. but they chose not to do that. Once again, they've put something out that looks like crap... As CosplayChris said: if you just make the suit so it fits right in the first place, you don't have to spend as much to clean it up in post

As an actual reader of the superman comics unlike many of these commenters, i will say i dig this suit. It being loose is my main complaint, but like other movies they can use cgi a bit to fit him, which could fix or ruin the look. Plus, if you know how movies are made you know they have different outfits for different uses.
And guess what, the movie is not out for another damn year, so im not gonna immediately boycott this movie just based on a few set images. While Christopher Reeve will always be my favorite superman, and Henry Cavill did a great job, I will wait for the trailers and the movie to come out before I judge the actor.

I don't really care much now, to be honest. DC had their chance to jump onboard the superhero movie craze with the first DCEU, and they royally screwed the pooch on that. Plus, superhero movies are kinda on their way out at this point, much like Westerns by the time the 80s rolled around.

I dont like the trunks, i feel DC needs to abolish that. It was cool at one point now its not a good look for any of the heroes. I feel like most of the DC heroes that had trunks, their suits look better without. I like the suit, just dont like the trunks. The actor is has put in serious work in the gym, but you cant really tell because of how baggy the suit is. Im gonna see this film because i believe it may breath new life into the DC films again. This movie needs to do well for the future of DC and superhero movies. Same with Deadpool and Wolverine, that move needs to do extremely well because that will decide the fate of the MCU i feel like.

lolololz...Mr terrific design or costuming is similar but the live action actor isnt looking as big or jacked...he seems to have a more petitie looking face...but I guess as long the character is the right race and gender and wear what looks liek the comics thats good enough casting for peopel these days...folks r excited that supes is white, lololz....this is all a psych game, they ruin movies so much by doing such nonsene so that when they do subpar stuff peopel think it's top tier...I too hate the trucks...it makes no sense in modern live action.

@@Plasma_trinity Except he's keeping his own hot garbage and isn't fully rebooting the universe. Either redo everything, or don't redo anything. Cavill was the best thing the DCEU had going for it. He put seats in the theaters because it was evident that he not only perfectly fit the character, but cared about doing it justice. It's not Cavill's fault Snyder was a hack that can't write or direct. Keeping Ezra Miller and John Cena in their roles after firing everyone else doesn't exactly spark confidence.
