If this was illuminate why would it be in the third of the map with bugs? Is it implied the planet itself is moving? Like it came out of the meridian black hole? Would be a weird/funny way to dramatically reintroduce them.
Meh....with the current state of the game I'd rather squids not make a return. If players cried about bugs being too hard and got them nerfed to oblivion, the illuminate will be a total joke this time around.
I mean, it's been taking over planets permanently, that's a big something. I'm sure it'll be played up later when the threat to Earth becomes more dire. As Super Earth is certainly freaking out over it, but is downplaying it as no big deal in order to prevent panic.
They’re playing the long con to develop it further and I don’t blame them. It seems we’ll most likely get automaton stuff for a little bit again, maybe illuminates? They can’t afford to really push away the bugs like they did the bots a few months ago, which is why the bot front seems stagnated.

Theory: This is illuminate related but it’ll be like an introduction of them. The Illuminate won’t stay there right on the bug front but we will have our first battle/MO with them their and then they’ll appear in the part of the map we suspected.
Besides a warbond and a update that fixes the DSS, I wouldn’t expect anything new for at least another 3-5 months. Would be cool to replay the first 3 months again with the latest fixes. 🥀

My theory, illuminate will emerge from the black hole, shoot this planet out of it into the orbit of klen dath 2, and either bugs or illuminate will launch an invasion on mars, and then into super earth
In my opinion it’s way too close to super earth to be a first contact site or a homeworld of the illuminate. Also, there’s nothing about this implying the illuminate other than the color and the use of the word „illuminating” which is still… just a word. If you take that as confirmation, I don’t know what to tell you at this point
