I remember a video I saw a year ago where an Automaton went "Fuck you" to the player. Something tells me they're pissed off at us, like uber pissed off
I’m a level 150. I have more bot than bug kills. Here’s some tips I’ve learned: Diligence counter sniper. Bring it. Get good with it. Where the bullet hits vs where the scope says it will matches *when you’re at the correct range*. Reduce sensitivity on the joystick (if you’re on console) in zoom mode. If you shoot closer than 200m while scoped for 200m, you’ll need to compensate. I typically shoot one notch below the crosshair. You can nail skinny’s quick and prevent bot drops. Always shoot the ones looking at the other bots, then shoot the ones not looking at anything. If you’re far enough away they won’t suspect a thing.
Tip 2 Gunships are such a problem, and such a massively game ending problem, they have to be dealt with immediately. 5 total hits with an auto cannon or 2 perfect hits on a single engine does it. You have to hit them fast and hard, 5 shots then reload, 5 shots then reload, and you can knock out an entire patrol before the last 2 can react. Keep an eye out on the tiny explosions on the gun ship as that indicates rockets have been fired. Avoid laying prone as it makes your angle of fire harder and it makes it easier to get blown up. Try crouching instead and go for recoil reduction armor. Laser cannon is a good second, don’t bring it to hot planets. Heavy machine gun sentry is excellent as it has armor and excellent damage and penetration, but bubble shield is recommended. Autocannon is a great all around weapon that can harass bot positions and not allow them to focus
Tip 3 Bots work on a quick draw mechanic. If a bot gets locked in and starts firing, and hits you, your aim will be thrown off and it will be tough to recover. Hitting and STUNNING first is essential. Disrupt a group of bots’ aim with a sentry that diverts their attention, an explosive like grenade pistol, or a hard hitter like auto cannon.
Tip 4 Feet are weak. If you’re fighting a heavy devastators with a shield, you can slip under the shield and destroy the foot, causing instant death. Diligence counter sniper can nail 4 hits in quick succession from a prone position on the thigh or foot of any devastators to cause instant death. This is useful when a face shot isn’t ideal. Rocket devastators are frustratingly durable so a leg shot makes them a non issue.
Tip 5 When encountering an unavoidable group of bots, line them up in such a way that the rocket devastators are hidden behind front line fighters such as heavy devastators. Aggro the rocket devastators so they send rockets into the back of heavy devastators. If you avoid sloped hills, the rocket devastators will continue to disrupt their team and allow you to clear them out. Pick your engagements and use harass and move techniques to screw with their formations.
Tip 6 Factory striders are helpless without their front guns. Remove those easy with a laser cannon, or auto cannon. This will make their belly completely vulnerable for an easy kill.
Personal head cannon: the berserkers sound like humans in pain. They could be human brains brought back to life through the use of fascist machinery. It would make sense as to why they're so ready to bumrush the helldivers. People tend to become a lot more aggressive and feral when their brain is outright tweaking. And since they're the brains of their enemy, they wouldn't waste time nor resources on giving them proper body's. They'd just patch them up with old devestator frames and send them out into kill boxes.
That’s one of the theories that I’ve heard.. and seeing how many bodies that the automaton bases have that are headless.. it does stand to reason that potentially, a good portion of the automatons we face, may have once been super earth citizens that have been forcefully converted into metal bodies.. and rushed out to face our fellow helldivers.. maybe some are lost divers, not killed in action as we had presumed, but captured, despite how badass a single helldiver is.. Better to fall at the hands of a helldiver, than to suffer causing atrocities by Automaton programming..
Berserkers say for “super earth” and even “devare the berserkers” but a trooper once said I love you to me. Or at least thats what I heard into it in 2 AM
yeah it's crazy, I swear they must have some kind of humanity, I ambushed a patrol once and I swore I heard one of them say "Jesus Christ" followed up with something I couldn't make out but sounded like "He has a gun" but I can't find anything that sounds like that online. Must've just been playing for too long.
I want them to (eventually) add the Warlord and Butcher from Helldivers 1. Warlord because it just sounds badass. Butcher because I want the new people of Helldivers 2 to experience being chased by abominations that laugh like a maniac. 😈 No, but for real, they're terrifying. Especially Warlords.
They either speak somewhat Russian or somewhat German. The only words I can make out are: "Helldiver" "Helldiver scum" "Super Earth" "Burn" "Suka" You're a legend for compiling this. I find enemy vo so interesting because its so easy to miss in games
To all the people who haven’t played hd1 the cyborgs actually do speak English so since these are more distorted and mechanized as another comment said they do technically speak English
You can hear them say "ALARM!" when alerting their friends, and it makes sense in lore since they used to be humans who declared independence from Super Earth
The weird part is that some of the lines sound a lot like Russian and do make sense in that language, as can be seen in other comments. So it’s possible that all the lines are a mix of languages. But some lines are definitely either reused or are callbacks to HD1.
Maybe the calm voice is the suit he is wearing? It could have an on board AI that is communicating with him (and he reacts like soldier telling the thing to shut up and let him fight)
Because it's clear that the voices are mixed, including the sounds when they are fighting and when they are at rest. Unlike the bugs, which have a clear lack of organization, I don't think they spend their time shouting at each other all the time.
It's funny; about a week ago I was doing a mission on one of the Automaton planets and it was to extract civilians. There were bots nearby (unsure as to what model they were) but they didn't appear too interested in what my squad and I was doing. However, with them just chilling and my squad also leaving them alone, they were making your typical robot sounds but these were different; it sounded as though they were "singing" an anthem. It had flow, hook, and even looped at least once. I was listening in curiosity as the civilians ran to the extraction and wondered whatever it was the bots were actually saying.
it's not english, i dug around in the helldivers 1 files so i could get some audio for something i was making and i've found they speak very little english the least they say is "helldiver scum" and the like
You know, out of all the robots, the devastators and hulks are the ones that have the creepiest voices, apart from the berserkers and the troopers, the devastators and hulks sound like they are the most broken ones, since they seem to glitch out in some voice lines. If your wondering how to actually know what they are saying, just look up another video about the cyborg voice lines from helldivers 1 and compare them to the automatons, there mostly the same.
Remember Helldivers, when you hear this sound, (17:36/17:51/17:54/18:04) always thank your Helldiver buddies. If not, thank Democracy for blessing your Super Destroyer Ship with weapons and strategems that were used to take out this four legged beast.

I love how the berzerker is a garbled mess aside from "berserker!" and a "fuck!"
It sounds like they also say "APOCALYYYYPSE!!" and "ILL SKIN THEM!!!"
They also sometimes scream KURWA OUT
i mean what else do they need to say
The name "berserker" doesn't exactly imply sanity or intelligence
Just unending violence

Well the berserker Yes it is good in design, but the factory is a store :v xd

1:10 "SUPER EARTH SCUM!"
1:43 Either I'm imagining it, or I heard "Retreat, cease fire!"(Отходим, прекратить огонь) in Russian? If it wasn't my imagination, then it's quite possible that there are other languages in the phrases.(Or maybe I just went crazy)
Next quote - "Za Kyberstan!" (За Киберстан / For Cyberstan)
And 0:09 - "Gori v Adu" (Гори в Аду / Burn in Hell)

@@arquitensproduction8001so you're saying they took a page from Destiny 2's book and how they handled Rasputin? XD
One thing I love is how fucking _angry_ they sound. They might be robots, but they make it very clear how much they utterly _loathe_ Super Earth and everything it stands for.
4:46 Heard this in game once and I swear it sounded like it was saying "FOR SUPER EARTH"
Omg it did
So, either they're like parrots and repeat what they hear OR they're made out of us
Doesn’t it say its name, “Berserker”?
Or maybe "KILL SUPER EARTH". Either that or automatons are putting helldivers brains inside berserkers and they think they are still fighting for their home 😢
@@TruthKeepersOfficialHD2I also hear some of the Helldiver pain voice lines in there for the Berserkers, which makes sense since they'd be closest to hear them and repeat them back.

"YOU CANNOT RUN, CYKA BLYAT"
I heard "YOU CANNOT RUN, КУРВА БЛЯТЬ."
Similar, but the automaton is calling the Helldiver a whore. "Курва"
I mean, some people think some of what they're saying is in Russian, so maybe?
I’d say it’s saying something along the lines of what Internetuser320 said. Though the Russian part would likely be “FUCKING BITCH,” as crude as it is.

Oh yeah. Its what they used for inspiration. Basically the final form of cyborg was the Warlord. Almost no human left in it.

It looks really scary until you see it get tossed like a baseball by a MechWarrior Atlas.
They sound like Scrap metal
So the language of Binary would basically be like Morse Code but who's sounds could be rapidly recombined to mimic other languages as well; technically i assume such robotic beings could have the memory capacity to know all human languages along with Binary as their primary spoken language.
A few people have pointed out that it seems like Automatons mimic the speech of Helldivers as a form of psychological warfare. They probably also do speak in some binary-language hybrid, but there definitely are some recognizable English phrases in there... mostly when wishing death and destruction on Helldivers, lmao
I like how the gunship falling sound is a lot longer than you'd normally hear just in case you shoot it when its over a cliff and it has a much longer fall than normal

I want official voice filters for these so badly. Itd be so much fun to mess with
I’m a level 150. I have more bot than bug kills. Here’s some tips I’ve learned:
Diligence counter sniper.
Tip 2
Gunships are such a problem, and such a massively game ending problem, they have to be dealt with immediately.
Tip 3
Bots work on a quick draw mechanic.
Tip 4
Feet are weak.
Tip 5
When encountering an unavoidable group of bots, line them up in such a way that the rocket devastators are hidden behind front line fighters such as heavy devastators. Aggro the rocket devastators so they send rockets into the back of heavy devastators.
If you avoid sloped hills, the rocket devastators will continue to disrupt their team and allow you to clear them out.
Pick your engagements and use harass and move techniques to screw with their formations.
Tip 6
Factory striders are helpless without their front guns. Remove those easy with a laser cannon, or auto cannon. This will make their belly completely vulnerable for an easy kill.
3:50 bumblebee?
4:02 "LOOK AT IT *Laughs*"
Oh honey, they're ALL bodies brought back to life.

You're a legend for compiling this. I find enemy vo so interesting because its so easy to miss in games
I get decepticon vibe from devastators I love it so much
I like to think they were named after Devastator himself.
@@zaniatnik i've dug around in the helldivers 1 files and i've found that they only speak very light english, and only when mocking you
Why does the Devastator sound so calm then speaks in some goblin brute voice
Split personality ahh automaton
Probably cause it's being shot at.
1 moment it's asmr and the next it's a robot orc
Maybe the calm voice is the suit he is wearing? It could have an on board AI that is communicating with him (and he reacts like soldier telling the thing to shut up and let him fight)
Because it's clear that the voices are mixed, including the sounds when they are fighting and when they are at rest. Unlike the bugs, which have a clear lack of organization, I don't think they spend their time shouting at each other all the time.
13:33 why does it remind me of the drones from ultrakill?

It's funny; about a week ago I was doing a mission on one of the Automaton planets and it was to extract civilians. There were bots nearby (unsure as to what model they were) but they didn't appear too interested in what my squad and I was doing. However, with them just chilling and my squad also leaving them alone, they were making your typical robot sounds but these were different; it sounded as though they were "singing" an anthem. It had flow, hook, and even looped at least once. I was listening in curiosity as the civilians ran to the extraction and wondered whatever it was the bots were actually saying.
Yeah, the bots do like a matching chant, there's a video called "Automaton Marching Cadence" that has the full loop
