will this project be a mod on curse forge when its finished? because id love to do thoose with the spider youve made an amazing thing and i personaly love it
The procedural animation makes these creatures look alive and menacing. I would love to see an adventure map that used these spiders as a predator or a mount.
The Aperture Science Arachnid Bot comes in 100s of different designer colors, ready to be shipped and sent to your doorstep to protect the things that matter most. _The Aperture Science Arachnid Bot Device is not responsible for any invoked fearful responses, mis-placed poultry, implosions, or tampered cakes that may occur._
I gotta say, I just love the vibes of the test world you use The shaders, the crickets, the landscape, it all gives such secluded and cozy vibes. As if you were far off from any living civilisation, in the untouched wilderness, only some remnants of a long fallen civilisation left, all overtaken by nature again.
Ikr? It has so much life and character and atmosphere to it, while also being so beautifully simple, truly clean. Giving something that certain touch is so difficult to pull of, i'm not sure whether his spiders or his maps intrigue me more lol
If you can sample the block each leg steps on, then you can find the walking sound for that block and give the spider dynamic walking sounds! Fantastically impressed with what you’ve done so far!
Oh, fuck, imagine a mod using this, and the spider constantly stalks you with the cloak on. Every so often, you'd hear the soft thunks of it on wood or stone, or the sound of it on grass.
The default white body one somehow looks cute to me now. I think it’s from the natural humanization projection of the defined head and “face” (the inset camera/sensor on the front). This effect gets even stronger with the exaggerated bouncing, it almost feels “over enthusiastic”
Even though this only adds a single mob, the complexity alone makes it unironically one of the best minecraft mods to ever exist. If it's a mod, that is.
Minecraft would make a sick post-apocalyptic ruined sci-fi world game with these. Imagine ruined factories and laboratories scattered throughout the world with these things and other technological terrors lurking about.
I wonder if it would be possible to even act stealthy, like trying to avoid differently colored blocks, keeping out of sight of the player until they get close, snaking outside of light (maybe even destroying it) Probably would also be quite difficult to make the legs attack the player.
I think what would make it truly unholy is that it slowly flies trailing its tentacles behind it, and upon seeing a target it slowly drifts overhead and then a single tentacle strikes like a spear at it.
@@Syntex366 no no, the seeker drone doesn't attack, it just patrols through the woods, its white spotlight on its head turning bright red when it sees the player and letting out an ominous noise. It then follows, keeping track of you as best it can while all the spiders home in on your location to attack.
I absolutely love the colossal spiders. There is just something absolutely surreal to have an entity that can conform to its environment that is so massive compared to the player. I can't wait to see how far you take this and I'm looking forward to all the future progress updates you post!
Damn, this is so impressive. I'm inspired to dabble different programming projects myself. I like the extent you took to bring your ideas to life, this is dedication. Thank you for inspiring me.
It looks cute now :D I feel like removing two tone blocks like terracotta or the crafting blocks might help it blend in a little better with the camouflage function, but it almost creates a sort of shimmer effect that's pretty cool as well
I just really appreciate the presentation of these videos. The spider being disassembled to show all of the entities being displayed, for instance; very nice touches to an already great video!
This is so great! The only kind of problem I see is that the little spider is making too much noise for its size, but else it is really nice looking, GG!
Oh, man, that looks so cool. It moves so realistically and physically. A couple years ago, I wouldn't have thought it would be possible to do that.. Awesome job
Interesting....❤❤❤ Can you make it able to enter a sort of stealth mode when a 'Target' is detected where the bot lower it's body and maybe make less noisy sound when walking, and when near a 'Target' the bot lunges in a short speed burst. Also seing how it interact with water maybe you can made a version that can dive when in deep water like a diving bell spider or maybe instead walk on water like water striders No pressure though, Love your works ❤❤❤

It's always very interesting and fun to watch your videos. I love the calm explanations of what things you tried and how you did everything. I also really love the clips of you just messing about with extreme values and the clips of the wonky prototypes.
this series made me realize that minecraft is almost the perfect game for procedural animations since it's a sandbox it's very hard to make a mob feel smart or threatening without breaking the "mobs don't break blocks" rule mojang has (creepers and endermen don't count ig), most of them can be rendered entirely harmless by dropping them in a 2 block deep hole or pillaring up past their reach. this isn't a mistake or an oversight of course, minecraft isn't about PvE. But still, ik mobs would be a really unique challange
Loving the series! Could you recreate some of the creatures from Rain World? They all move procedurally and are fairly simple. I think it would really fit it!
the designs remind me of aperture science/portal so much... i'd love to see a sentry turret like this maybe even glados could look really creepy too with all the angular bending
Every time I think you've perfected this, you release another video increasing the quality of it tenfold. I feel like next time I check in, you'll have given it dynamic locational damage physics or something. Also, I love Quaternion Rotation Prototype. He's trying his best.
I absolutley love this project! Im super hyped to be running from some of these in a creepy factory!
