What is a good power source to hook the electric choke to is the ground off the side of the choke on a wire to the the engine block or intake or from something else I'm having is its surging it's on an 84 Dodge Colt the carburetor is off on a 89 v50 truck which is Mitsubishi Mitsubishi looking for a little information on it you're the closest one I found anywhere near what's the Weber carb and you happen to know where any Dodge Kotor that body style I need a donor car or like this one the donor car depending on the shape of the body

The electric choke grounds thru the body of the carburetor, no wire needed. 12volt Ignition on power could be from the accessory or cigarette lighter fuse, it’s a Weber carb, when is it surging? If it’s surging at 3-4K RPMs under load then its running out of fuel, which usually means the float is set too low or the fuel filter is clogged. Check local junkyards and FB marketplace for any dodge Chrysler or Mitsubishi 84-87 for parts

when you say crank throttle open at 2.12..do you mean hold it wide open when adjusting choke flap tension please?

Nope, just crack it open so you can make sure the fast idle cam is on the highest step. You can hold it wide open to do it if you want, but partly open will do

The speed screw on mine slid down the side of the cam. Found the retaining nut in the cam bit up the threads and came loose causing idle speed to be lower than needed

Very informative video👍👍 , I bought a new weber 38 with electric choke for a G13BA 1.3 litre suzuki engine . I noticed that once I cold start the car she idles very poorly almost stalling . However over a short duration I notice the choke flap slowly opens completely , so i know the ele tric choke is functioning well . I think I need to check the position of the 1st n the 2nd stage cam that you were demonstrating .

Also the choke tension could be your issue, try rotating the choke coil to make it tighter (stays on longer)
