Maybe we can choose which species we fight for (Inkling/Octarian) and splat each other. Remember, in the 2 main games (Excluding Octo Expansion), our Inkling was led to believe that the octarians were the bad guys, but the Octo Expansion lets us see the opposite. Or, going back to the sanitation in Octo Expansion, maybe we're sanitized octolings trying to escape Commander Tartar's control.
Its not like they can, the sanitized octoling are not controled, theres nothing left on them, just a void that need to be fulfilled with a proposite or order

@@raichugirl7154 that was a misstranslation of the fans if i remember well, theres an interview were one of the devs explain that df1sh suffered of anxiety an she couldnt make music, she was blocked by her emotions and while she wandered around octovalley she ended up on the metro, then she discovered about sanitization and like a message from heaven she knew what she need to do

I have an Idea. Maybe captain cuttlefish is telling you a story of the great turf war and it does a flashback thing like in shows or in movies when someone is telling a story and you get to play as cuttlefish during the great turf war. I think that would be cool

i think it would be cooler if he was telling the story of one of the biggest inkling heroes (and you choose what they look like) during the war, you cant forget customisation is one of the biggest parts of this game
The thought of this makes me giddy. I’d love to see major cutscenes and a huge backstory of cuttlefish. It’s also be cool if we had cool designs that look old. Like a wooden splatershot or something.
I’ve also thought about a completely new story about the dark ink. When someone touches it, they get possessed. I think it would be cool for splatsville to get invaded and then all of the agents and idols and community of splatsville to come together and stop the dark ink.

mine idea basically consist on an open world adventure where you travel through various alternate realities, where certain things did or didn't happen, and we need to stop them from colliding into a perfect world, ruled by... Callie & Marie?

And many others!

I would love to see a an adventure mode take place during the Great turf War kinda like the thumbnail and were playing as an inkling soldier
I was thinking of a childhood Game called „the Blob“ and how some of the mechanics could be adepted in a splatoon adventure Mode. Doing tasks like painting stuff defeating different enemys and progressing through Segments all of that in a Big Level with an opend Thems like a Harbor where you plattform over Containers Ships and cranes and avoiding traps.
The context could be either freeing different Parts from Inkopolis as cuddelfish from the octarians. Or be Part of a new Story that has somthing to do with the negativ side of Order because of the Final splatfest resault in the second Game

It'd be cool if they did an open world they could add to the respawning lore, we've already had sections where there's no respawn kettle and if you lose you just die, maybe there's sections where an alert pops up on screen saying you aren't close enough to an active kettle. That way it could be somewhere early on when you enter a new section of the map that you have to get to to respawn and feel safe in that area. They could also easily double as super jump points.
The great turf war could be the dlc because jud is missing in splatoon 3 and the grizzco items were time travel related because of back to the future making it a valid idea.
As amazing as this sounds, it’ll tie into our heroes telling stories of the battle, especially how the events of the Great Turf War have affected the course of cephaling history. Or who knows, another exploratory game would be to explore not only the Octarian domes, but also help in building the surface villages (the first since being exiled from Inkadia).
So many possibilities yet nintendo just gives us another Hero mode

Here me out here out here - if a game set during the great turf war does what pokemon legends arceus did let's us meet the ancestors of some of the characters? I mean captain cuttlefish and Sheldons grandfather will be there so why can't other relatives be there?
I think a great name for a great turf war game would be called Splatoon 0: Where it Began
I’ve been thinking about this for years
I kind of like this idea maybe like there could be missions like the commander who will give the character, captain, cold fish, and the team of great big Splatoon, which you can all play as multiplayer and single player and in order to get into a adjective or start the exact if you have to either get to the area of the objective if it’s a important one it will show a golden arrow with a army hat on. It will be a green and purple ink covering it with the Splatoon flag and the octTerrian flag on both sides and when you complete the objective, the Splatoon flag, and the green ink will cover the entire manhole and on the open map, there will be some enemies with same missions that you can take care of and get eggs and fish bucks and whenever there’s a Bosch kettle, the manhole cover will be drink antic be covered in the purple ink and have the octTerrian flag in the middle of it with the final bars being of course, DJ Octavio
I had this idea too but my idea is the final splatfest in Past/Future/Present having Past meaning we go to the great Turf War, Future meaning we go to a brand new city and a new enemy named Captain Cthulhu and finally the Present would be explaining what happens to idols and everyone and who the true enemies of Splatoon is. All the ideas would be a free world where you can explore around.
I'd love seeing both the possibility of exploring the whole splatoon planet, on top of the Great Turf War, though 1 thing I'd love to see would be a mix of Open world, and time travel not to the Great Turf War, but to the Future that would be absolutely dystopic due to some of the "present time wanted criminals" that, until they are taken down, would have massive and massive paradox areas of misery.
My idea sounds a bit wacky, but it could also be interesting to see in the adventure open-world option that you could build any weapons, upgrade them, and assemble the end-game final weapon, only to be used against you for most of it until you "make the BBEG" drop it"
Imagine that if it were set in the great turf war and instead of the turf wars we do in multiplayer we did missions or something and they changed it to something more like TF2

Hm, a Splatoon Spin-off Game, huh? Yeah, that would be interesting and considering the format that the Main Series has went with and probably still going to go with, that might be the best way to have a chance at exploring the Story, the Lore, more thoroughly.
If it does become a thing, I will look forward to see what it will be about and how it will be like,

i think when they said it would be the finnaly, they meant the next game wouldnt have the squid beak splatoon involved and octavio would be done. i think the great turf war sounds like a dlc for splatoon 3 but then again the ideas you have for it seem big so it could be its own game.

What would be cool is if this had 4 player co-op missions. Don't really like the idea of a prequel story mode. I would personally want the great turf war to be against the Salmonids.
I think it would be cool if there was a four player adventure mode like there’s an option to play by yourself or with 3 other players
I would love this type of game, except we would be very limited with weapons, almost none that exist today. But I guess they could expand on that and create completely differe t ones, but, yeah, open world, lore focused singleplayer game, heck yea.
I would like to see ancestors of different characters, kinda like what they did for Pokémon Legends: Arceus
I feel a way it could work is like breath of the wild where it’s a huge world but there is a story and little domains you can do for more health and upgrades

while this is a fun idea, an open-world adventure game just doesnt feel like splatoon. i wouldnt be opposed to it, but it just wouldn't feel the same.

They need to have a single player that can have other people join you like Pokémon scarlet and violet
