Fun splatoon Lore! The brand that crated the squeezer, foil actually made the flingza roller too! It’s weapons are known for being multi purpose hence why flingza has the long and short mode and why squeezer has the painting and killing mode
The death of Squiffer’s aggressive kit and Bamboozler’s favorite ability have allowed Goo Tuber to feel substantially better, mostly by shoving other weapons off of a cliff.
Given the only possible reference kits for the new squiffer would be autobomb+crabtank, mines+trizooka, or some combination of those are you ready for Nogami to say "fuck you squiffer mains" and then give it toxic mist+tacticooler because he hates us and doesn't want us to have any secondary damage for as long as possible
Noticing a trend here: 1) The Splat weapons definitely became more viable jack of all trades 2) Every "bad" weapon is generally just awkward, not overtly awful 3) "We gave it Autobomb to gimp the kit's syngery" is the new "we gave it Tenta Missiles to gimp the kit's synergy", probably
Meanwhile, Tenta Missiles itself is now "We gave this weapon the most busted special in the game, please actually use it" - we now live in a world where Goo Tuber is relevant.
Despite being kinda terrible, undercover brella is still some of the most fun I've had in the game. It's a ridiculous weapon that gets you some really funny kills
I always get the highest point in normal game when compared to the other 7 players while using undercover brella, I have no idea how it's a bad weapon. Maybe my teammates are really garbage
ink armor may not be a special anymore, but torpedo shouldve been the sub for vanilla ub, and then maybe wave or tacticooler for special (or ink vac for the heck of it)
Congrats on making it to the trending page! I've been playing since Splatoon 1, and I don't have the depth of knowledge that you do, so this video is great!
The brella shield issue really has been absolutely crazy for me. I've had so many situations where my brella is up and... people just shoot through it? Trying to use brella feels like a 50/50 gamble on whether the game just deletes your shield or not.
@@kevinchen5167 i mean it’s important to be critical of the problems that are still a part of a game, of course there is a line where it just sounds like whining but it’s important to bring it up now rather than later
@@SicklySeraph That's definitely true and I totally agree with a lot of the points being brought up. I'm more annoyed about the people making complete assumptions and claiming it as fact. There are practically always things like heavily liked comments complaining that it'll end up being a shooter meta again or that specials are complete garbage under every video.
@@kevinchen5167 I'm sorta guilty of that, but not for the same reason. I'm fine with the specials and the weapons, its just that turf war isnt very fun when being bombarded by people that are already in a high level bracket when youre just starting out. It feels less casual than in splatoon 2 and it just feels stressful rather than fun at times, but thats more of a "at launch" problem that can be fixed later on because its only been 11 days.
One of my “main” weapons in Splatoon 2 was the Undercover Sorella Brella. So seeing what happened with the entire class of weapons in 3 makes me incredibly sad. I’m REALLY hoping they fix the glitches with them and that future kits will make up for the Brella’s renditions in Splatoon 3.
I used it for a while, then realized I HEAVILY preferred the Kensa Undercover Brella & literally never played using anything else. Although as much as it can be weird to use, I like the kit the base Undercover has in 3 because Reefslider is SUPER FUN. I even got a quad-kill with it before! I really am hoping for new Undercover Brella kits sometime soon though. Can't wait to see what they come up with.
Ja same. Hope that the future kit from Bathtub Schwapper and 3R Schwapper will be better (I love these Weapons so much but these Kit are suck). The Kit for the N Zap is okay but it could be better.
Tbh im kind of annoyed that they got rid of dualie squelchers tenta missle and point sensor combo. it felt perfect when you could see your enemy at all times. Now it feels like the custom dualie squelchers.
@@archflamingo9156 its just a better looking splattershot, a reskin. its not complete bonkers like it is in hero mode. (but it is one of my mains because splattershot is such a great weapon)
As a Bamboozler main when damage up didn't exist in 2, I'm really glad that damage up was removed to improve the game health, but autobomb really brings down the kit. My ideal kit for a future Bamboozler would be fizzy bomb for chip damage, and wave breaker to reveal locations and for the chip damage it provides for one shots. Although knowing my luck, we'll get something like ink mine and zip caster.
That actually sounds like a decent combo, ink mine could be used to stand your ground a mark enemies, while zipcaster could be used to picks then return
@@ancientautumn9987 honestly a terrible idea. Reef slider and stamp might as well be removed from the game if that happens and everyone will be spamming missiles again.
I wish there were more Inkbrush types. Maybe an Inkbrush that does big damage when it bumps into people, or a Long Fling Range Inkbrush, or an Inkbrush that is multipurpose, like the Squeezer or Flingza
I had the idea that a third inkbrush could be based off of a calligraphy brush with slightly slower speed than the regular Inkbrush but with a very tight turning circle and it's swipes would fling ink in a thinner V shape rather than the wide fan shape of the Inkbrush/Octobrush.
there should be a brush type weapon based on a toothbrush instead of swinging it side to side like other brushes, you lunge it forward so the ink gets flung kinda like a slosher, but you can run with it like any other brush too
As an Undervover brella main, yes. But it’s ability to ink turf EXTREMELY evenly and well (beating out the aerospray) is just awesome. It’s mines are not the best but are still good for giving chip damage and preventing flanks. Behind enemy turf you can be stubborn as a damn termite with well placed and well timed mines and sliders. But still, yes. Honestly being aware of the under covers weaknesses just makes me love it more, they say the best don’t fear second best, they fear the worst. Undercover, bamboozker, clash, and aersospray is a devastating team comp. Goddamn team of stubborn termites with a chip on their shoulder, everything to prove, with nothing to lose.
I fell in love with the Undercover Brella n Splatoon 2 for its amazing painting ability like you said. (Although it was the Sorella for a bit, & then I exclusively used Kensa as my permanent main. I actually never did get the OG) I unironically really do not enjoy how the Splat Brella & Tenta Brella shoot, so the Undercover Brella was PERFECT for me.
main here too. ive found that it is the perfect weapon to just annoy and destract the enemy. the amount of times ive won by just being annoying is amazing
Late on this, but also an Undercover Brella main here since I got to start playing in Splatty 2. Undercover Brella was literally the first weapon I bought in Splatty 3 with my gold license, and while I was dominating earlier on as I've ranked up and face more competent people I've fell off hard with it. Sloshers are my enemy and the glitched wall-piercing with Sloshing Machine ruins me. The worst part is, the other weapons I mained in Splatty 2 were also the Aerospray and Clash Blaster! So I'm pretty screwed all around. I'm still winning games, and I still turf really well and can punish rollers especially with an Ink Mine, roll block, and shot to the face, but as I fight people who know how to be mobile I'm dashed to pieces.
Undercover Brellas are simply superior, just with the shield was a little bit wider. I used one of my gold Sheldon licences on it, was told it was the worst weapon in the game, then got a 5 win streak with it and fell in love. It's that, the Stamper Splatana, and the REEF-Lux, my perfect trio
I'm so happy to see that E-Liter and Range Blaster are no longer hilariously awful. It warms my heart to hear you have a lot of good to say about the "worst" weapons.
tbf, im a bit late to this. i do want to say though, that i really love e-liter. i started off maining splat roller and after that aerospray mc, thinking i was just bad with snipers, but my god, e-liter is so fun. i watched my sibling in some of its games (its an e-liter main) and it completely DESTROYED the enemy team. gave me motivation to try it again, haha ^^ now after practicing a while with e-liter, i normally get quite some kills, which is surprising to say the least
I love how balanced this game is, it feels almost wrong to call them the worst weapons even though very few of them are actually bad. Also I loved the background music
What I like about this game's balance is that generally, if you can make a weapon work, you can get away with using it. Yes, some are better than others as is the case with every game, but it's a nice feeling.
it’s quite frankly absurd that nautilus as a main weapon carries it’s kit so hard that even while having point sensor it’s more effective than a mini with burst bomb
Nautilus is cracked. As much as I'd adore a Nautilus kit with Burst Bombs or something, it's probably for the best that it's stuck with Point Sensor. The special is complete garbage for it though, almost zero synergy with the rest of the kit. I could see a Nautilus kit with Tacticooler getting a lot of use. Its only real flaw compared to the Heavy Splatling, kit aside, is its abysmal strafing speed. Buffing that on top of improved mobility and faster respawns enables it to be way more aggressive. And for a sub weapon, it would work REALLY well with Curling Bombs, assuming Burst Bombs are too overpowered with it. Splash Wall might also be nice, although I think Curling Bombs win out overall because of the Nautilus's focus on choosing whether it wants to be a frontliner or a backliner at any given moment.
What's insane is how I main the aerospray and it is the best weapon for me to use. I always come out on top of the list every game I play. Interesting to see how different people view the weapons available to them!
I know, it’s crazy! I honestly got self conscious with all the aero spray hate though so I changed to splattershot after this video, and it’s mainly the same. I honestly miss the chargeable bombs and fast moving special because it really fit my offensive play style. I’m thinking of going back just because it worked so well for me, but I honestly wish people wouldn’t be so quick to judge us!
As an Inkbrush main for life at this point, it feels so good that the kit synergizes this well. I feel the Killer Wail's biggest strength is the ability to give yourself back up for a fight. The Inkbrush rarely gets kills on its own without good stealth or team assistance. But the wail basically means fights are more manageable.
Man, you're the reason why I've gotten at least a little better at the game. You make engaging guides with sparkles of humor all the while having good visual info to go along with what you say. Thank you :)
Phenomenal video as per usual, I'd love to see you talk about the "weirder" weapons that at first don't seem good but once you try them out for a while they actually begin to shine. (Also maybe comprehensive guide on abilities and what's good on what weapon/classes)
Look how far you’ve come. Over 200000 combined followers on all platforms, and this vid alone has almost a million views. We’re all behind you chara. Thanks for all you’ve done for this community.
I really dislike how all of the less gimmicky weapons are never seen because of all the basic weapons being so amazing. I just want to swing a splatana around and have fun, not abide by the shooter meta
@@sejsuper4660 Sloshing Machine is one of the strongest weapons, plus this is en entire video that largely talks about strong non-shooter weapons. you can DEFINITELY do well with non shooters lmao
It's a shame ultra stamp is bad for mini. I'd actually argue that even if it was only functionable like how it was in 2 it would be a pretty good weapon with its main strength being rainmaker but we'll just have to wait and see. Also poor brellas 😥
I agree. I really liked ultra stamp in 2 but it's killbox is so broken and it offers so little protection even from the front that it's a complete joke right now. I hope they fix/buff it soon.
I think that it's viable if you throw the hammer, but you have to really get the angles right. I really feel as though it should get way buffed, as a mini main myself.
Something interesting about the reefslider that I've learned is that it can actually help you paint quicker, rather than just be used as an offensive move. If covers quite a bit of area and your ink refills immediately, so it's decent even if you aren't trying to attack with it.
Honestly zipcaster feels like it has huge potential as a mobility tool. You could potentially easily sneak behind the enemies and get them and then immediately jump back
I love playing dapple dualies but I am so so so desperate for a kit that has a bomb. it sucks that literally the ONLY way you have to paint the floor is your main weapon which has one of the very worst ranges in the game. I'd almost rather the dapples and aerospray trade kits because I think each would suit the other better.
yeah honestly as a dapples main if this weapon had burst or something it would make the weapon so much better. At least splat 2 vdapples had suction rush but now it just has literally nothing
I found Dapples to be really good as a good support weapon. Setting up beakons and charging up for Tacticooler for your teammates is my strategy and it was pretty effective in the Splatfest
Introducing yourself as a top player is so good because new people coming to the channel will instantly understand why you're different than others and why what you're about to say will have to be taken seriously. AMAZING VID!!!
i really like the way you explain the pros and cons/strengths and weaknesses of each weapon, even for the ones ranked worst. the rankings felt really fair and i learned a lot! thanks to this video i went and practiced more with weapons i would have never played with outside of maaaybe turf war lol - this was a really informative video chara! ❤
This is my first Splatoon game and this list was mad helpful in learning about the other weapon classes. I've been living and having mad fun with inkbrush but wanted to branch out a bit
as a splat 2 S- Rank undercover brella main...this broke my heart...I knew something felt very off about the performance in this game, and your analysis hits the nail on the head perfectly. I was feeling exactly those issues but couldn't put them into words. Oh well..guess it's time to move on to Tenta Brella since they removed my full special charge splash down build as well. :( it's like i'm relearning the game
I mean vunder was also trash in 2, it had basically the same stats and even an almost identical kit to 3. it was only kunder and to a lesser extent sunder that was at all good in 2
As someone who had Splatbrella as their favorite weapon in Splatoon 2, seeing how almost all Brellas are bad now makes me really sad. Thankfully, I have found other weapons in Splatoon 3 that I enjoy using and got at least decent at like Ink Brush and Slosher. The funny part about the Ink Brush for me is that I have never used Ink Brush in ranked/anarchy battles before Splatoon 3 as I only used it in turf wars in earlier games. Rn, I'm just too stubborn to use any of the shooter weapons cause the shooter dominance in Splatoon 2 is still fresh of my mind.
I wish the Splatbrella's were better too, heck, in the story mode they oneshot a lot of stuff, so switching over to pvp made me suprised at how bad they were. They are essentially ink shotguns with a shield. Which sounds insanely fun. Alas, they don't work as well.
I wonder if the devs are open to actually changing kits for balancing. They seemed to be experimenting with different specials for weapons in the trailers, so maybe weapons that are held back by their kits still have hope.
I hope they do something with Wiper. I love the quick kills that Torpedo has with it, but Ultra Stamp just SUCKS as a special. If it wants to be super close and aggressive, maybe Reefslider would help. Tri Strike would also help wall out areas so that the Wiper has some long range capability.
@@obsidiangrimoire Problem with new kits is that both the sub and special have to be different. So if the original already has one of them good, they lose it in favor of the other. New kits don't guarantee being good anyway.
@@dasoupsoup That's what I'm saying though, to my knowledge they've never changed a weapon's kit, only introduced entirely new kits. I don't see that suddenly changing.
I've been playing Beakon Dapples since Splat 2 and it feels like a kit that relies on its teammates a ton. It's a hyper aggro weapon with its low range and quick rolls but also has a support kit with beakons and Tacticooler. With that combo it feels like you snowball well; you never truly loose mid if you're consistently able to jump back in when you lose one or two without worrying about jumping right into a fight. And Tacticooler means teammates come back even faster to jump to your beakons. I feel like the design is that you don't want to move in unless your team is already up but they almost always *are* if you've got good beakon placement and Tacticooler uptime. You can even run a little Sub Power to make their jumps faster. Is it a great kit for such a short range weapon to get in? No, not at all. And I think it super struggles especially on its own. But I think it can work in the right scenarios. Maybe not in a competitive team setting without really working around it but it's got an interesting playstyle if used well.
Undercover Brella main here, and I'll forever be mad about the treatment it got out the gate. We nailed it with the Kensa Variant, they could have just kept it almost the exact same with the vanilla for 3, albeit swapping Armor for Crab Tank, or any other defensive special, even the Reefslider as is lets it be a fine disrupter and allows you to become the center of attention for a while so your team can push an objective. But no, they opted to KEEP the mine, so when it HAS to use the Reef Slider to get away or further in to try and make some kind of play, it has nothing to work with after the facts other than it's shield (which was probably spent getting into Sliding position anyways, in which it can only come back into discussion if the slide kills someone who walked into it) and it's piddly paddly pitter patter damage stats. If they really want this to be a slayer weapon and not a lightweight tank (which it really should obviously just be the latter), then I hope we either get some number buffs that can allow that to happen, or we just get a weapon kit on a different variant that just flat out compliments a slaying playstyle more than 'Slide, Stride, Die'. At least then the balance teams can accurately determine what they want to do with this weapon. Assuming they don't want to do what made the weapon good on it's closing voyage by actually keeping it as the lightweight tank it clearly can excel at being. Oh well, at least they absolutely killed it with the Sloshing Machine on the first outing this time around.
I think they just really love the idea of all base Undercover kits having Mine because it's "sneaky". I'm really not sure any more thought went into it than that, or at the very least they're insistent on the "sneaky" theme to the weapon's detriment.
@@alexanderkosten7611 I would be absolutely fine with that theming gimmick for the vanilla variant if there were any specials that allowed you to conform to such a theme and/or playstyle (like if it were to, say, have a backstab mechanic which rewards you for good flanks and outplays by dealing more damage to the backs of enemies just to name an example), but stuff like the Reefslider and Splashdown (Two VERY hard to justify specials put onto the UCB) go actively against this with their loud, flashy, defenseless activations DEMANDING that you be the center of attention. At the very least you have to somewhat keep your eyes peeled and ears ready for a good flanking Zipcaster. And even something like the Wave Breaker then would be a better idea for the theme because it stops you from being the center of attention for just long enough to possibly take someone down. My bottom line I guess is that Splatoon's a loud as hell game and designing a shotgun weapon around stealth that barely exists to begin with is just the worst, and it makes me sad.
As a stubborn Carbon Roller main coming from 2 to 3... I have to agree with its place. Autobomb is surprisingly more useful than I thought and Zipcaster is really fun on the right map and circumstance, but the lack of Burst Bomb hurts more than I could have ever known. I still use it the most out of habit (at least Ninja Squid is still good lol), but I'm praying on the Deco to save me like it did in 2.
I am also hoping for a burst bomb too on the deco version in the future. Carbon Roller was my favorite Roller in Splatoon. The Carbon Roller Deco in Splatoon 2 I was worried it wouldn't have burst bombs but it felt harder to use and get kills with. Splatoon 3's Carbon Roller feels like you don't have to be as close as in Splatoon 2, but I still prefer burst bombs for easier kills.
I love the Carbon roller. However I am a auto bomb appreciator, so I like how the carbon kept its auto bombs. Idk why people say it lost burst when it never had it. For all those burst people you'll have to wait for when they add back the deco
@@SonicVK yeah it the auto bombs are pretty neat. But tbh I use zip caster more as a way to instanly fill my tank and push. So when the inc runs out i get send back ro safty
I am also a stubborn Carbon main, and I do love the undeserved kills I get from autos! However, Zipcaster isn't really my thing unfortunately. Would be neat to get like a Retro line or something with like Burst/Trizooka (1), Carbon/Storm (2), something for Deco in 1, or Burst/something for Deco in 2.
As a tri-stringer main, I think you made valid points on it’s abilities. I still quite like it, but I hope it gets a new sub or buffs in the future. I’m glad you didn’t trash it like I’ve seen some do.
Here’s your reminder that you can still main the “bad” weapons in this video! I main aerospray and average about 8-10 kills per game, even if I lose. If you can get close enough to the enemy, accuracy doesn’t matter!
Same here! I fully understand how bad it’s accuracy is but if I get close up or take people by surprise it’s great! tbh I love that it’s combined with reefslider too, give you a lil oomf when u need it
As a Clash Main I have always seen The Clash blaster as a bit of a skill defining wall. Those who tend to struggle, get annoyed by and hate fighting it tend to be on the lower end of the scale where those who can handle it easily or aren't afraid of it are the players on the higher end of the skill hierarchy. this doesn't mean the Clash is some amazing weapon it just means it's the first boss on the road to getting better.
Tbh I more get annoyed because I use heavy while clash blasters (and blasters in general) have no fear getting close to my high dps. They will come at me to just trade even if that means going so far behind my backline without inking at all. 9/10 times I kill them but they're like a scout that just keeps trying to take me out until I die.
Yea, the Clash isn't useless, there's just better. I find it mildly annoying to see, but I know a few ways to handle it (with my weapon selection of brella, mostly outboxing it or flanking) . . . guess that means I'm okay lol
@@MineNAdventurer Blaster player here. Can confirm, if there is a backline on the other team I will go to the ends of the earth to harass them with indirects. Fear us.
I used to despise using Splatlings when I started out in 2, especially the hydra. I was more interested in offence than defence so the slow mobility instantly made me dislike it, and the kits on both the normal and custom hydra didn’t make me want to use them at all. However I tried using hydra in 3 for a change since I wasn’t really feeling any of the other weapons that were available to me and it basically became my new main overnight. Instead of averaging out to 2-3 kills per match I’m averaging out to 8-9 which is such a big improvement for someone who’s wanting to try and get into competitive play. I would prefer if the hydra had a different sub than autobomb but other than that I just adore this weapon so much
as someone else who also got into splatlings recently: using ink resistance up and run speed up makes splatlings a LOT better and more manageable, however i find hydra splatlings go further when you consider them like chargers. ive switched between mini and heavy in 2 but im considering hydra this game as well
@@neonskylite2242 I'm on the same boat as you, as I have been almost exclusively been using the Heavy Splatling since the testfire. I use the Mini here and there in certain modes (mainly Clam Blitz, and Rainmaker). I haven't given the Hydtra too much of a chance due to how slow it is compared to the other two. I knew it's kit is amazing ever since I first saw it, so it's going to take a bit of practice to get used to it.
As a coward who is really mostly suited for backline and support, Hydra splatling is my main for 2 and 3. Heavy Splatling is VERY fun though and I highly recommend you play it first then play Hydra if you havent ever played splatlings before Especially on splatzones.
Hydrant is really fun if you can see the surroundings properly. During the charge, hide in the shield and check the surrounding situation, and if there is an ally trying to evacuate from the enemy's surprise attack, paint the path of the ally or block the enemy's path with a barrage. If there is an enemy that you don't notice here, it will be the beehive as it is. Take away or damage the enemy's foots while fighting with allies, There are quite a lot of things I can do.
I've been playing Splatoon since 2015 and I had no idea about "combos" or how important it was about having good kits that fit the weapons, I just used whatever was fun to me. Definitely learned alot in this vid lmao.
THANK YOU FOR GIVING HYDRA LOVE!! I'm a hydra main and when I saw that it got booyah bomb instead of splashdown. It was ecstatic because I have more control while keeping a distance! I hope the next kit for hydra is ink mine because I like to stay in one spot and if someone is coming near, it will trigger. For special, its either trizooka or triple inkstrike because control and distance
im so glad you marked hydra as the best splatling. ive been playing it nonstop and it just finally feels so good to play. i agree with all of these except i think id put machine above normal sloshed
Funny, my experience with the Brellas is swapped. I have been really enjoying the Undercover Brella, in pubs its fun for pushing and applying pressure, and if I feel like I'm going to lose a fight I bait my opponent back to a landmine. I push to midfield and try to stop opponents from getting past me, acting a distraction. Meanwhile with the normal Brella and TentaBrella, I don't know if it's net code or bugs but they just don't seem to kill like Splatoon 2.
Dude great info man. I’m fairly new to splatoon and definitely wanna get into competitive and this video was very informal. I appreciate it and you definitely earned yourself a new sun. Great job
as a bloblobber and undercover brella main,,, i am slightly disappointed but not surprised ! i think they’re just awkward to use unless you’ve been playing them for a while, but at the end of the day I still think it’s really enjoyable :] there’s nothing more satisfying than wiping an unprepared team with just a few swings of a bloblobber though
Great video! The main weapon I use a lot is the Bloblobber but I only play turf war, I think its strength is more for turf mode. Seems more suited for covering ground rather then kills or precise moves. I couldn't see myself using it for ranked, my choice for that would be the a gun that they didn't bring from S2, the N-zap '89 :(.
That's crazy to me because as someone who sucks at the game and has massive rage/anger issues, Bloblobber is what carried me THROUGH ranked lol... (And I guess the splash-o-matic too in tower control but anyway). I get like 18 kills with the Bloblobber, while with other weapons I may get 4 or 5 at best
Not sure if you noticed, but I'm pretty sure Carbon roller vertical flick got a *slightly* longer kill area if done correctly, and I'll make a video to prove that carbon is op if played right
Yeah I gotta say I was a little surprised by the carbon roller verdict considering how badly I’ve been ganking fools with that thing. But I’m also a more casual player and can’t fathom competing with more pro-type players, so it may be a totally different story in that scene.
To me, the Roller is the gold standard of weapon design, it is very self sufficient, the Curling bomb can help but the Vertical Swing can work just fine, as it paints your feet. It has fair range too and has good fall off damage too. On top of this, it has 3 options, Rolling, Horizontal Swing and Vertical Swing, making it very adaptable. Don't even get me started on the hitboxes.
@Skibbity Bop I'd say kills aren't satisfying with the Tri Slosher, The amount of enjoyment I get from the Roller is on par with the Charger, you'd be surprised what types of kills you can get with the Roller, the sound of sniping is one thing, but killing someone directly under you or getting a collateral with a Vertical Swing is another. Best part? They can happen right after each other. The Roller doesn't require much skill, I will admit that, but I think that it really benefits from a skilled player, the main attraction is the fact that it one shots, so if someone can aim well enough and is decisive enough, they can do pretty well. I will not deny that stands for most other weapons but the Roller, even if it has a low skill ceiling, isn't as annoying as say a Clash or Blob. It also served as a pathway to other one shot weapons for me, such as Charger or Blaster.
@Skibbity Bop I agree with the small skill ceiling part, but that's where the variants come in. You essentially pick a specialization for your roller play: Carbon for rolling and Dynamo for flicks. These two weapons have a much higher skill ceiling but take some acclimation from using regular roller.
Contrary to the playstyle it was often forced into in 2, Mini likes to go in and be aggressive. It doesn't KILL fast, but it does move fast and do good chip and paint. Stamp would actually be REALLY good on it if the special worked. Burst/stamp mini has so much aggressive potential, please fix the special Nintendo ;m;
@@lamasekte4357 Mini is util/skirm flex imo, good paint + chip + crossfire is great as utility and good movement + chip is great for an unconventional skirm pick. Can anchor in faster comps too, so much potential with that weapon. Stamp is a great special for skirmisher/rat weapons like Mini can be so it DOUBLE sucks that the special doesn't work.
I feel as though the stamp will be fixed soon. Reminder: Splat 3 is still a new game and it has many bugs that still need to be worked out. No worries!
For me I think Stamper and Wiper are actually about even: Stamper is, relatively, more team-reliant, being better at killing with the help of your team getting the last 30 damage after you get the chip off, especially with being pretty slow in attack rate for a Frontliner. Wiper is better for lower tier play since a lot of people are stupid and won't exploit your chip damage, so Wiper becomes a much better option when you have to do the killing yourself in my eyes. Also for me it feels like you never get to use the 1 shot that the stamper has since, if you're in range, by the time you're charged up your enemy will have killed you.
I've been using the Stamper a lot and the 1 shot is best used when sharking or if the fight is extremly close quarters. Its also good for dealing with over aggressive rollers and other close range weapons
@@lamasekte4357 Same, it's also funny how many times I've charged a shot to hit someone on a ledge just for someone to wander into melee range. I also think the melee works well when using zipcaster to get behind enemy lines
thanks for the video! good to hear your thoughts. bloblobber is my favorite. it's just fun. yeah maybe not competitive, but it often surprises people and has great area control. I like it in turf war a lot, my favorite mode.
I know there’s only two options currently, but so happy to hear the praise for Reflux. I never really had a decent main weapon in Splatoon 2, but the Reflux has really clicked with me and its kit is so intuitive and effective. I didn’t play much of 2, but I think this weapon is what hooked me and made me want to play consistently with 3. I’m still not very good (I’ve only played on handheld mode, dunno if that makes much a difference but I keep thinking I’d do better without having to wave my whole screen around lol), but I get some nice rounds/plays in now with it.
As much as I main/love aerospray, it's really only useful in turf wars and splat zones as a support painter, which is usually how I play it anyways. I've been trying dualie squelchers more often though and they really are amazing. Splash-o-matic I've also been having some fun with. Though aerospray is still my number one guilty pleasure 😅
I love the dual squelchers, have always been one of my favourite weapons since splat 2 (arguably splat 1) But I got to say that I love the dapple dualies kit, it doesn't make any sense for a short range weapon but the combination of beacon and tacticooler makes it so easy to have a "second base" to flank the enemy with.
Toxic Mist on Tri-Stringer actually works really well to support your team, prevent opponents from healing chip, increases ease of OHKO shots and combos super well with killer wail as it slows enemies and traps enemies. Painting isn’t fantastic but can work well if you use the right painting mode in the right situation.
Glad to see the Hydra getting its time to shine. I've been loving it in splatoon 3. First weapon that really clicked with me so far other than the chargers. Gotta say, I don't know at all how to play the splatanas. Neither of them seem all that strong to me, though I can see why the stamper has potential with burst bombs. My experience is that it was far easier to use wiper and get things done thanks to its faster uncharged attacks. And I personally just don't like the special on either weapon. Zip caster would feel better on wiper imo since you could focus on uncharged attacks which are just too slow on the stamper.
I really love the ballpoint splatling because it can 3 shot at range while also being able to easily kill opponents because of it's initial close range shots acting as a panic button.
I'm a guy who's constantly hunting for the playstyle I want: aggression. And I have to say I like the Splash-o-matic for that kinda game play. Burst Bomb good for chippin' away, the actual range of the weapon and is fire rate is pretty cool, and then Crab Tank is there to help make a push. I can see why a lot of people use it, and I'm kinda happy to accept it, as much as I'm rebellious to "the meta". Great video by the way, I'll take notes when I get a Charger craving.
This is a great way to learn about the weapons around splatoon, especially since I have not once played the other two splatoon games. Thanks for helping with the unique classes in this game that separates this from games I usually play like Call of Duty.
Bloblobber main here. I completely agree and I’m really hopeful we get an alt with a better kit. Sprinkler and inkstorm make up for low “wide” ink coverage, but we don’t really… want that? We want more pressure lol
I mean, depends on the modes you play. Many of us just enjoy Turf Wars, in which case Inkstorm is an amazing option as a special to set it and forget it. you can even use it as a kind of deterrent to keep enemies from a certain area as they avoid the inkstorm.
Honestly, I love how much improvement was made to the blasters! Originally I wasn't sold on the specials for both range and regular, but after using them I see the true potential that they give the weapons! I can also never thank nintendo enough for adding jump rng mitigation to Intensify Action. Now All i need is new kits for them both to further diversify my options!
I feel like Splatana Stamper and Splatana Wiper would work better if their Specials were swapped. Zipcaster feels like it was made for fast weapons, and that's what the Wiper is, while Ultra Stamp (if it worked properly) has the big hits that fit with Stamper's theme, plus its throw gives Stamper a pretty good long range option. It also ever so slightly nerfs Stamper, but that isn't a bad thing per se.
9:46 slosher/bloblobber main here, another problem with the sprinkler is literally everytime I set one down, it's instantly destroyed by the enemy team, which really discourages it's use anywhere that isn't already safely your own turf, and what's the point of putting it there. This has discouraged me from basically ever using my sub when I play Bloblobber and leaves me functionally sub-less. The rain cloud isn't super great either, but I've found that wearing the special power up ability and throwing the rain cloud over splat zones is a neat way to surprise enemy team and take back the zone.
Even if it's the worst weapon in the game, I've had a lot of success (in low tiers) playing the Undercover Brella in Tower Control. Being able to keep the umbrella open while on the tower and shoot down at approaching enemies, with a mine on the tower to boot, has been really fun.
I feel the dapples' kit is very good for it. The beakon and tacticooler allow it to play much more aggressively than it ever could in 2, and also makes deaths much less punishing as it can pop cooler, respawn in one second, and jump back in - being back on the field in only a few seconds is massive for such an aggressive slayer dualie weapon. it's the only cooler weapon that can play cooler selfishly while still benefitting its team. it doesnt need a bomb in my opinion (while a bomb would be nice, its not necessary) - the main weapon paints honestly fine, and can move fine enough that a bomb isnt necessary and it controls space well because of these two factors. it can already threaten a kill super efficiently too, which is another thing some weapons need bombs for. over all i think its kit supports a very aggressive yet fun to play with/against playstyle and 180p cooler is very nice I'd have put dark tetras as the worst dualies in splatoon 3, since while they have higher mobility by a little, their accuracy is the lowest in their class, and they're incredibly easy to punish since after dodgerolls and reefslider they're incredibly vulnerable for a long time. the autobombs also dont do enough for them i feel, since they lack the killing power of dapples (they dont kill anywhere near as quickly or efficiently in my experience). theyre really just the most punishable dualie weapon in the game, and need a special and sub that dont suffer from the same problems the main weapon does. it almost feels like they have two modes of play: a short highly mobile burst with dodgerolling or reefsliding, then a free punishing period i say all of this as a charger main, so even if i've mained dapples and tetras in 2 before maybe take it with a grain of salt, but i think its worth at least comparing dapples and dark tetras
Nice to see Ink Vac got a lot of representation among the bests. Really hoping we get a Heavy Splatling with Vac eventually; not only would it be a pair of my favorite special and possible favorite main, but as Chara said in a previous video, Vac would be a great tool for combatting longer-range weapons, so they'd synergize well.
Not talked about in the vid but the Explosher feels so much better in this game! Plus I truly think the kit is so much better as well. Still struggles against close-ranged encounters but so far this slosh is addicting! I feel like I AM the boss battle with it.
Ever since I unlocked the Hydra in splatoon 2 I fell in love with it, even though I felt how the kit didn't do it for me, I still stayed with it. As soon as a Saw it had booyah bomb instead of splashdown I knew it was gonna be a stronger kit. As you said, it really allows it to play the role it's meant to be with much more options. Very happy it's considered the best in class for splatlings =D
Stamp is an OKAY special, the only real issue is how broken its hit detection is at the moment. If it behaved more consistently it'd be a lot better. Mini needs a lot of space to operate optimally, and Ultra Stamp is great at creating space... It's just garbage at killing right now.
I use the aerospray rg (or the gold one) because it has booyah bomb and sprinkler sprinkler isnt great but i use it to cover area at the start without having to go over and ink
To clarify this could be a tier list of ranking OR a tier list of match ups. Like Oh the bow is really good against these top weapons but bad against others
I love how in 2, the carbon roller deco, a weapon with autobomb launcher was a good weapon. Now don't get me wrong, I love autobomb, its my favorite sub, but even I think autobomb launcher is too much
Glad about your comments on inkbrush, it's exactly why I've been maining it! But I was starting to doubt how good it was but honestly I just have so much fun playing it, I get to do home invasion :)

I love the Nautilus but I think when the hammer gets fixed its probably gonna be the worst because of its atrocious kit
Heavy is the new worst splatling and stamper is still better bc burst. Wiper is still stupid fast tho.

@@FubblerCo. the Nautilus isn't god awful, but the heavy is.
Fun splatoon Lore! The brand that crated the squeezer, foil actually made the flingza roller too! It’s weapons are known for being multi purpose hence why flingza has the long and short mode and why squeezer has the painting and killing mode
So they wanted their weapons to be a foil to the norm huh?
And Flingza happens to be my main weapon and favorite weapon
I was about to comment about the ballpoint splatling, but then I remembered it was made by Nouveau

The death of Squiffer’s aggressive kit and Bamboozler’s favorite ability have allowed Goo Tuber to feel substantially better, mostly by shoving other weapons off of a cliff.
Nah the gootuber just strangled the kits to death like a snake
Given the only possible reference kits for the new squiffer would be autobomb+crabtank, mines+trizooka, or some combination of those are you ready for Nogami to say "fuck you squiffer mains" and then give it toxic mist+tacticooler because he hates us and doesn't want us to have any secondary damage for as long as possible
good tuber 👍
The Goo Tuber realised that to become a better option, it had to eliminate the other options in its path.
The goo tuber is the only charger that can store a charge long enough to do a squid Surge with a full charge, which is actually amazing
Noticing a trend here:
1) The Splat weapons definitely became more viable jack of all trades
2) Every "bad" weapon is generally just awkward, not overtly awful
3) "We gave it Autobomb to gimp the kit's syngery" is the new "we gave it Tenta Missiles to gimp the kit's synergy", probably
Sucks too since autobombs were super fun to mess around with for me in Splatoon 2
Meaning autobombs will become broken. Surely lol
But I’d still prefer burst back on my beloved carbon 😞
Just stack some Sub-Up and those autobobs are Scary
Meanwhile, Tenta Missiles itself is now "We gave this weapon the most busted special in the game, please actually use it" - we now live in a world where Goo Tuber is relevant.
@@alexanderkosten7611 we have the reef-lux, so unfortunately the goo tuber’s services are still not required
In defense of the undercover brella, it’s kinda funny to use a literal umbrella amidst the chaos that is a round of Splatoon.
i like seeing the umbrellas pop up, too hahaha
It's the sorta weapon you can respect someone using against you.
I feel it lost something important that is the torpedo
Despite being kinda terrible, undercover brella is still some of the most fun I've had in the game. It's a ridiculous weapon that gets you some really funny kills
I always get the highest point in normal game when compared to the other 7 players while using undercover brella, I have no idea how it's a bad weapon. Maybe my teammates are really garbage
I absolutely love the undercover brella, unfortunately, its dmg beyond kissing distance is equivalent to a small dog threatening you.
I dunno little dogs scare me more than the undercover brella.
ink armor may not be a special anymore, but torpedo shouldve been the sub for vanilla ub, and then maybe wave or tacticooler for special (or ink vac for the heck of it)
Small dogs are scary tho😨
chihuahuas are small dogs, and they are definitely scarier than the undercover brella

It went to space

tenta brella turned into ark polaris
The tenta brella when the shield is actually needed
I had a moment where I weirdly rose into the air after touching an undercover, so good to know it's a universal experience.
I've also had issues about being sniped right after ducking behind cover so I'm pretty sure it has something to do with latency.
Until then, at least it looks good in the locker. Waiting for that buff it needs and deserves!
Yeah I agree, in turf war in splatoon 2 I always get around 9 kills cause it’s so good in turf.
Ja same. Hope that the future kit from Bathtub Schwapper and 3R Schwapper will be better (I love these Weapons so much but these Kit are suck). The Kit for the N Zap is okay but it could be better.
If tri-string got Wave Breaker and a bomb then it would be insane, because it would compliment the “area control” playstyle.
yeah I really hope we see wave breaker on explo and a bow
Can we just have wave breaker on everything? I'm literally maining all the wave breaker weapons.
Tbh im kind of annoyed that they got rid of dualie squelchers tenta missle and point sensor combo. it felt perfect when you could see your enemy at all times. Now it feels like the custom dualie squelchers.

I just wish you could choose your sub and special. Almost every weapon would become viable but some would definitely be very broken.
No burst bomb?
Honestly I miss my fizzy bombs for bamboozler sooooo much 😭 Nintendo give it back!
Swinging a stone fountain around 😎
I had the idea that a third inkbrush could be based off of a calligraphy brush with slightly slower speed than the regular Inkbrush but with a very tight turning circle and it's swipes would fling ink in a thinner V shape rather than the wide fan shape of the Inkbrush/Octobrush.
petition to make flingza brush a weapon in the game
there should be a brush type weapon based on a toothbrush
instead of swinging it side to side like other brushes, you lunge it forward so the ink gets flung kinda like a slosher, but you can run with it like any other brush too
@@nathanblackburn1193 Kind of like a hybrid of a brush and splatana, I like it
As an Undervover brella main, yes.
I actually never did get the OG)
I unironically really do not enjoy how the Splat Brella & Tenta Brella shoot, so the Undercover Brella was PERFECT for me.
main here too. ive found that it is the perfect weapon to just annoy and destract the enemy. the amount of times ive won by just being annoying is amazing
Undercover umbrella main here… We are a small but golden group we must stick together… lol
I'm so happy to see that E-Liter and Range Blaster are no longer hilariously awful. It warms my heart to hear you have a lot of good to say about the "worst" weapons.
Indeed. In one of my more recent turf wars, we got suppressed into oblivion by a single E-liter on the enemy team
tbf, im a bit late to this. i do want to say though, that i really love e-liter. i started off maining splat roller and after that aerospray mc, thinking i was just bad with snipers, but my god, e-liter is so fun. i watched my sibling in some of its games (its an e-liter main) and it completely DESTROYED the enemy team. gave me motivation to try it again, haha ^^ now after practicing a while with e-liter, i normally get quite some kills, which is surprising to say the least
Bro in splat 1 I distinctly remember that whenever Moray Towers was in rotation there would be 3 e-liters per team at times
I love how balanced this game is, it feels almost wrong to call them the worst weapons even though very few of them are actually bad. Also I loved the background music

it’s quite frankly absurd that nautilus as a main weapon carries it’s kit so hard that even while having point sensor it’s more effective than a mini with burst bomb

I mained the kensa mini in splatoon 2, so I'm neutral about the new kit for the mini
I'd almost rather the dapples and aerospray trade kits because I think each would suit the other better.

why didn't they just trade kits with ballpoint 😭😭 I miss beakons sm, and like you said dapples could use a bomb
Dapples with fizzy would be so fun! But honestly, any bomb (aside from maybe suction) would do wonders for it.

Normally the way they do this is just introducing new kits rather than changing the base kit of a weapon

Thanks for making this vid my dude! I’m actually an ex-archer so I usually main stringer and MAN was this video helpful with which one is the best!
I agree 100% I played KUnder and I loved it but now I can't even use undercover cuz of it's horrible kit
I'm keep going to main inkbrush but it's good to know what I'm fighting against
As a stubborn Carbon Roller main coming from 2 to 3...

Same here! I fully understand how bad it’s accuracy is but if I get close up or take people by surprise it’s great! tbh I love that it’s combined with reefslider too, give you a lil oomf when u need it
for real!! I don't main aerospray but I've gotten 16 kills with it in a turf war match. it's actually pretty decent for killing imo
The beauty of a well balanced game. Skill can change everything
Nice analysis of it.
oh no im a skill issue
Tbh I more get annoyed because I use heavy while clash blasters (and blasters in general) have no fear getting close to my high dps. They will come at me to just trade even if that means going so far behind my backline without inking at all. 9/10 times I kill them but they're like a scout that just keeps trying to take me out until I die.
Yea, the Clash isn't useless, there's just better. I find it mildly annoying to see, but I know a few ways to handle it (with my weapon selection of brella, mostly outboxing it or flanking) . . . guess that means I'm okay lol
@@MineNAdventurer
Blaster player here. Can confirm, if there is a backline on the other team I will go to the ends of the earth to harass them with indirects. Fear us.
I’m so glad that inkbrush is getting the respect it deserves
Heavy Splatling is VERY fun though and I highly recommend you play it first then play Hydra if you havent ever played splatlings before
Especially on splatzones.
Take away or damage the enemy's foots while fighting with allies,
There are quite a lot of things I can do.

I've been playing Splatoon since 2015 and I had no idea about "combos" or how important it was about having good kits that fit the weapons, I just used whatever was fun to me. Definitely learned alot in this vid lmao.
Really cool seeing slosher above machine, hopefully more slosher players stick with it despite the incline of machine users
Machine is so fun though
I’m more of an explo guy myself but I’ve been having a ton of fun with Vslosh
THANK YOU FOR GIVING HYDRA LOVE!! I'm a hydra main and when I saw that it got booyah bomb instead of splashdown. It was ecstatic because I have more control while keeping a distance!
I hope the next kit for hydra is ink mine because I like to stay in one spot and if someone is coming near, it will trigger. For special, its either trizooka or triple inkstrike because control and distance
Thank you so much for this! I’m not the smartest with splatoon weapons, and thank you for making this list! I hope to see more vids like this!
im so glad you marked hydra as the best splatling. ive been playing it nonstop and it just finally feels so good to play. i agree with all of these except i think id put machine above normal sloshed
Yea.
Hopefully with future updates, they give more weapon kits to a lot of these bad weapons since it kill the weapon without it
Dude great info man. I’m fairly new to splatoon and definitely wanna get into competitive and this video was very informal. I appreciate it and you definitely earned yourself a new sun. Great job
Good vid. I don't even play splatoon but your in depth explanations were so relaxing to listen to. Keep up the good work 👍
as a bloblobber and undercover brella main,,, i am slightly disappointed but not surprised ! i think they’re just awkward to use unless you’ve been playing them for a while, but at the end of the day I still think it’s really enjoyable :]
there’s nothing more satisfying than wiping an unprepared team with just a few swings of a bloblobber though
20:40 I do appreciate how we basically just have two weapons to choose from lol, we desperately need more stringers and splatanas for these lists
I'd argue Brushes & even Brellas too.
This vid is amazing! I’m about to get Splatoon 3 so this will help me so much. Thanks a bunch!
Pls know that this is all subject to change and besides, play whatever you like. It can be anything.
@Skibbity Bop Rolling over 3 people at once is absolutely satisfying.
@@kittycat4378 Rolling over 3 people is extremely unlikely though, not the best defense imo
In splat zones, the roller is a monster!
@Skibbity Bop I agree with the small skill ceiling part, but that's where the variants come in. You essentially pick a specialization for your roller play: Carbon for rolling and Dynamo for flicks. These two weapons have a much higher skill ceiling but take some acclimation from using regular roller.
Contrary to the playstyle it was often forced into in 2, Mini likes to go in and be aggressive. It doesn't KILL fast, but it does move fast and do good chip and paint. Stamp would actually be REALLY good on it if the special worked. Burst/stamp mini has so much aggressive potential, please fix the special Nintendo ;m;
I feel like Mini is at its best as a slayer-support hybrid, but its so versatile that it can fit into both seperately
@@Squiddiboo Mini really can basically play as anything if it got the right kit, so its sad that Mini has to start with an unfunctional special
I feel as though the stamp will be fixed soon. Reminder: Splat 3 is still a new game and it has many bugs that still need to be worked out. No worries!
@@Octoptic0n I hope so, but man, they didn't fix it in 2, or between games...
@@crescent3979 with Zipcaster it always depends who i'm rushing or else i risk getting lasered
thanks for the video! good to hear your thoughts.
bloblobber is my favorite. it's just fun. yeah maybe not competitive, but it often surprises people and has great area control.

What is that splattershot when I go to the shop I can’t find it
I love the dual squelchers, have always been one of my favourite weapons since splat 2 (arguably splat 1) But I got to say that I love the dapple dualies kit, it doesn't make any sense for a short range weapon but the combination of beacon and tacticooler makes it so easy to have a "second base" to flank the enemy with.
I would kill myself before doing that, thanks!

I feel like I'm gonna have to pick that one up too. I keep trying the Rollers and brushes and Splattershot.
What is that splatshoot I can’t find it
I feel like Splatana Stamper and Splatana Wiper would work better if their Specials were swapped.
The rain cloud isn't super great either, but I've found that wearing the special power up ability and throwing the rain cloud over splat zones is a neat way to surprise enemy team and take back the zone.
i have no idea about competitive and your channel has helped since splatoon 3 is my first game in the series i actually got, thanks :)
Even if it's the worst weapon in the game, I've had a lot of success (in low tiers) playing the Undercover Brella in Tower Control. Being able to keep the umbrella open while on the tower and shoot down at approaching enemies, with a mine on the tower to boot, has been really fun.
Oh 100%.
Undercover Brella is my favorite type of weapon in the series & no kit can make me hate it or stop using it.
Same here ! It might be the worst weapon of the game right now, but it sure is fun as hell to use. Undercover Brella my forever beloved
I feel the dapples' kit is very good for it. The beakon and tacticooler allow it to play much more aggressively than it ever could in 2, and also makes deaths much less punishing as it can pop cooler, respawn in one second, and jump back in - being back on the field in only a few seconds is massive for such an aggressive slayer dualie weapon. it's the only cooler weapon that can play cooler selfishly while still benefitting its team. it doesnt need a bomb in my opinion (while a bomb would be nice, its not necessary) - the main weapon paints honestly fine, and can move fine enough that a bomb isnt necessary and it controls space well because of these two factors. it can already threaten a kill super efficiently too, which is another thing some weapons need bombs for. over all i think its kit supports a very aggressive yet fun to play with/against playstyle and 180p cooler is very nice
I'd have put dark tetras as the worst dualies in splatoon 3, since while they have higher mobility by a little, their accuracy is the lowest in their class, and they're incredibly easy to punish since after dodgerolls and reefslider they're incredibly vulnerable for a long time. the autobombs also dont do enough for them i feel, since they lack the killing power of dapples (they dont kill anywhere near as quickly or efficiently in my experience). theyre really just the most punishable dualie weapon in the game, and need a special and sub that dont suffer from the same problems the main weapon does. it almost feels like they have two modes of play: a short highly mobile burst with dodgerolling or reefsliding, then a free punishing period
i say all of this as a charger main, so even if i've mained dapples and tetras in 2 before maybe take it with a grain of salt, but i think its worth at least comparing dapples and dark tetras

Stamp is an OKAY special, the only real issue is how broken its hit detection is at the moment. If it behaved more consistently it'd be a lot better.
Mini needs a lot of space to operate optimally, and Ultra Stamp is great at creating space... It's just garbage at killing right now.
