I'd thought of the DLC having playable idols/past agents and came up with a Return to the Metro kind of thing, but ofc not named that because "Return of the Mammallians" is already a thing. My idea was that the metro has worn down from Tartar being defeated and no longer running Kambo Co., so the test facilities are falling apart and the sanitized octarians are sort of melting away into these monstrous forms. Well, an agent goes to the metro, re-cleares the tests to deal with the unstable sanitization, only to find out this is intentional and some unknown boss has been changing the solution and is intending to use it to wipe out the Salmonids in one single swoop by dunking it into the hazardous waters, since it would be extremely deadly to them. Well, the agents gather together on a Salmon Run-like stage for the final battle, except instead of defeating being from the water, they're trying to defeat a giant sanitized boss BEFORE it reaches the water. Maybe the salmonids would come and help since it's their species at risk and they could pull a last-second save by lowering the tide for extra time.

Ok so I'm seeing this a lot. What I'm noticing is Shiver with Splatana and Frye with Stringers. But personally I think that it's the other way around. Tableturf is very important to this. Callie and Marie both use cards pertaining to their mains, Roller and Charger respectively. Shiver uses the Tri-stringer and Reeflux 450 cards. Which makes Shiver the stringer main, making sense for her levelheaded and calm nature. Frye on the other hand uses cards for Splatana Stamper and Wiper. Making her the Splatana main, which fits her erratic and wild personality. Big Man unfortunately doesn't have a main weapon but instead uses all kinds of bombs ranging from Subs to even Booyah Bomb.
I thought that the last mission (or the climax to the next splatoon game) should be ALL the idols singing calamari inkantation while every Squidbeak Splatoon member: the agents, (Old agent 3, 4, 8, New agent 3, whatever future agents in future games), DJ Octavio, and Mr Grizz (eventually, it's gotta happen) are playable and fighting to the goal. The idols themselves doing the fighting seems pretty cool tho.
Considering how there's some dialogue that shows Frye's keen ability to track down treasure, perhaps she could also be able to sense hidden items such as collectibles or switches out of sight that are needed to further proceed.
I would be really Awesome to play as the Idols especially if they have unique abilities/characteristics the normal inklings or o tiling have like Shiver summoning her Shark, Callie doing a Bomb rush, Big Man(need I say less), etc.
I think the dlc should end with the salmons, being lead by lil Judd take over most of the splatlands, forcing everyone under ground, and the campaign is you fighting back, but some stages you get to play as idols, or previous agents.

Seeing that the current idols work for Marie, they would tag along without even being agents. My personal take on this concept would be that this mission is leaded by the Captain (OG Agent 3) and the different agents will be selectable like selecting weapons on the main story/octoexpansion.
Soooo... I had just a few nitpicks. I got a little confused here (4:10) when you said "Uploaded to Pearl." Also, According to the Splatoon Wiki, I feel we're being lead to assume Frye is the one that deals with the splatana since her deck is based around those, and Shiver has the bow. Other than that, pretty interesting idea.

Well, I have a slightly different idea. What if you do boss battle but CO-OP? That 11 players play their chosen idol or agent against something like mighty tartar, reborn grizz, or a combination of both. the action would take place in Splatlands, somewhere far from the city, and it would be... a second part of the great turf war.
The main thing Im interested in is Playing as Agent 3, since they are all powerful 'n stuff it'd be fun just running around dashing in the sky, spamming bombs and using all specials in splatoon history. Enimies would have to be a lot harder to beat(like A LOT harder) but it'd be a blast
Imagine 2 player like splatoon and you can do 2 missions at once that would be cool but for deep cut 1 player controls 2 and 1 player co trollers the other left over
I would love this ngl but ai feel like it might not be something Nintendo would do. Although I wouldn't be surprised if you could have all of them as like.. support in these missions. Maybe like small fry. It could work like the statue or rocket. And each level maybe you'd have a different idol or set of idols. Marie could snipe an enemy from afar. Callie can get you outta sticky situations. Shiver could use Master Mega to push through enemies. Frye could barrage the enemies in front of you with eels. Big Man could make the floor your ink color in a radius maybe. Marina could throw down her special hyper sticky bomb things. And Pearl can Booyah Bomb. That or maybe they work like specials.
it would be kind of annoying if the big bad had ANOTHER world ending plan, it would be cool if it was based off of the chaos vs order splatfest and theres some rogue team orders trying to take over the world but not ultimately wipe out inklings or destroy the world or anything

Long comment, here we go. I'd include new 3 teaming up with deep cut, captain 3 and agent 4 with the squid sisters, eight teaming up with off the hook. I imagine the captain 3 section being the very grand finale of this fracas. Their goal? Well, in Splatoon two and three after the great zapfish gets rescued they comment about it getting smaller. It's not powerful anymore having been kidnapped thrice, and needs to power back up. Perhaps this island is sacred to the zapfish and can charge up here. But Grizzco, now run by lil' judd who went mad with power is tryna stop you because with the zapfish's weening power, everyone has become reliant on salmon eggs and lil' judd doesn't wanna lose this leverage over cephalopod kind. They're almost at the end until lil' judd comes in with a ship of some sort and vacuums up the zapfish escortee. The story ends the way it started; saving the zapfish from a corrupt ruler for the good of all who you care about. Thoughts anyone?
This sounds like a mix of sonic heroes mixed with Batman Arkham origins online vs multiplayer and sonic adventure and Sonic’s adventure 2 with the each person has their own role to play. It sounds super fun and making it multiplayer in some aspect sounds like sooo much fun cause ranked turf and salmon get kind of boing and repetitive after awhile at least for me.
I feel like we should get a class based shooter game mode similar to like overwatch and tf2. The idols could all be heroes, and the agents and you would fight squid beak splatoon+ grizzco employees vs Octarions+salmon
