One of the more joke worthy departures at the canal this previous season, dating back to September! Since a lot of people are feeling the late winter gloom right about now, figured I’d try something fun. The Munson departing with four heavily geared up police and sheriff boats from across the region riding her wake on their way out for a training exercise (I believe anyway). Not sure if the ship was a part of their exercise or if they just tagged along because the bridge was up. On occasion the lakers will participate in training, especially with the Coast Guard. Either way, combined with an excellent Master’s Salute from the Munson, it made for a fun scene!
Hope everyone has some fun with this one! What did the Munson do to cause this? Lol 😁 For the inevitable people with no sense of humor, yes the whole thing is a joke. If you want the real world explanation of what’s going on, that’s all included in the video description as always!

Thank you! Guessing it was a training exercise that may or may not have had anything to do with Munson at all, they could have just gotten permission to leave with her while the bridge was up. Sometimes the Lakers do participate in law enforcement and training exercises though so it’s possible it was intentional

I remember the real story of what was going on. So here's the deal. The Munson was passing Cargill, and when they called in, the captain and the bridge op had a few seconds of small talk (the Munson's captain does this a lot). The captain mentioned that the first mate had made a quick run to A Dozen Excuses that morning and way over-ordered. The captain wasn't sure what they were going to do with all those donuts. Next thing they knew, half of Duluth PD was escorting them through the canal.
😂 too many donuts huh? No wonder they’re so low in the water! Also makes it easier for the boarding parties to come on to… confiscate them for evidence!

Good job. Paul had this video and I believe he said it was a law enforcement exercise in his description if I remember correctly.
Yep! Like I said in the description I’m not sure if the Munson was involved in the actual exercise or if they just went with her because the bridge was up. The lakers do often participate in training! Seen videos of the Coast Guard “rescuing” people off the ships while they’re sailing. If so that would be really neat but I have no idea.
Figured people could have some fun with it though 😂

The truth is, the steward on the MUNSON just finished a couple of dozen donuts, and the galley door was open. The Duluth PD just happened to be on harbor patrol that day, so......
