First Repair On My Porsche GT4

- This is my first repair that i had to do on my Porsche 981 GT4. I am guessing due to low mileage and sitting the grommets got hard on the Clutch master cylinder fluid feed line and it started leaking. My temporary repair lasted about 8 months until it leaked again and I replaced it. Since i didn't have the line I removed it and cleaned it all up and reinstalled everything and it sealed up for another 8 months. I got the line and never got around to replacing it since it wasn't leaking again. I caught leaking due to a drip on the ground.
Quick and relatively easy repair and I'd suggest removing the horn with the bracket for easier access to work in that area.
Thanks for the tip
I appreciate your videos my friend you have been very informative
Thanks you very much and you’re welcome.
you are nuts for not protecting the paint on the fender while working with brake fluid!
I have PPF on the whole front of the car.
Thanks a lot for this man. I’m seeing a similar issue with my 981 GT4. Noticing brake fluid on the line near the CMC. Seems like I should probably replace the hose as well given it seems this is a common issue. Is it ok to top off brake fluid, clean the area up and monitor the leak until I replace it?
Yep. Just make sure you don't go to low in your brake reservoir as you will pull air in and will have to bleed. Those grommets get hard over time is what happened to me.
Hi! What side of the plastic hose was leaking? The side that goes to the master cylinder or the opposite aide? Thank you.
It was leaking where ti connects to the nipple on the brake master cylinder reservoir.
Your garage is clean when you can hang out in bare feet!
I try to keep it clean and kept. i don't like dirty floors. I've done plenty of hard work in my garage. I've had a transmission out of my daily jetta.
Interesting. I wonder if there are any aftermarket options that can resolve the hardening grommet issue over time.
Not sure. But with the relative low cost of the part its not hateful to replace. Also a possible brake flush could prevent this from happening.
