    Well, I have owned my 2015 GT4 for 6 years and have never been underneath it like this so I appreciate the tour. Agree that the fabulous Pilot Cup Sports can be slippery, but I now have Pirelli' which seem a great tyre also. Like you I get a smile on my face each time I drive it.

    Sounds just incredible, I had to go to the start at 0:18 to hear the growl of the exhaust a few times. Love the bits additional inside info which I've not heard anywhere on the 'Net. Thank you as usual Max

      You’re welcome and I’m glad you enjoyed the video. It turned out to be a good thing that it was made several days apart. When I saw the underbody sill damage (minor) on the first day, I was gutted and upset. After sleeping on it for several days, I just came to accept this is to be expected on a low car without axle lift. Since then, I’ve put my head under one more low Porsche (Spyder) and can confirm that scraping various bits under the car is bound to happen if you drive in the UK. I didn’t appreciate this prior to purchasing the GT4, but I do now! It’s not all benefits in a GT4 ;-)

    What a wonderful video.
    I would def def def encourage an oil change a year. It will def prolongue the life of the engine.
    The 'vent' to cool the brakes is just magical. I didn't know it was unique to the gt4.
    Very rarely can u see the underside of a car. Thanks

      Oh for sure. Around 3 years ago while I was getting my 987 serviced at Porsche Brooklands a 981 GT4 turned-up, and Mike said to me “one day you’ll own one of them Max”. I laughed and replied “No chance mate!”

    Amazing video great insights. I damaged under the sill slightly and I brushed some clear coat on the damaged spot before it started to rust and that worked.

      Hi Antony, thought you’d like this video, though suspect you knew most of the track oriented information already. Thanks for the under sill advice, me being me… 6 years after the car was made, you can actually pull away at the seam in various places (yes I know you shouldn’t really do this, but just shows that the bond has aged). I’m taking it to a bodyshop as recommended by Porsche, for next steps. Do I remove the whole seam on both sides and make good with new? Or just patch up in places? I need to get estimates for both approaches… this wasn’t on the list of things to watch for when having a low car. Explains why front axle lift features on many high end supercars.

      @@MAXREVS Hi Max I really liked seeing how the different suspension components are used to adjust and most interesting around the shock absorbers orientation and engine set up. This engine I think is most reliable even for race teams. I hope you can resolve the coating problem soon and enjoy the magic of the GT4!

    • @MAXREVS
      @MAXREVS  2 роки тому

      Thanks Antony. I still can’t believe I own a GT4… I wonder if all preceding events in my life subliminally conditioned me to buying one?! That would include the livestream we did and hearing about how much fun you get on track with your Cayman.
      Where you win hands down is with the weather. I see it’s around 26 degrees C this time where you are, it’s a peak of 8 degrees C in the UK today! Itching to put more miles on, but cold and damp doesn’t suit the Cup 2’s, plus there is no fun in doing the usual outdoor meetings at a coffee stop when it’s raining.
      Still swallowing the costs of this purchase, but I know once everything is sorted it will be good for a lifetime. I know I said my 987.2 was for keeps, however this time I *REALLY* mean it with the 981 GT4 ;-)
      Take care my friend, Max

    • @MAXREVS
      @MAXREVS  2 роки тому +2

      20k miles and 6 years old. All perfectly normal, just look under any Porsche in the UK after a couple of years. It’s not a garage queen for sure. Saying that though, the car is booked in for an underbody clean and protection next month. This car has to last me my lifetime and I like to look after my stuff.
