I have a problem with ecosports being told as reliable and placed first. it has a timing belt inside the engine which means it is always in contact with the oil which results in belt degradation because rubber and oil do not mix well. If you have to replace the timing belt, it is very expensive. And if it snaps it will be disastrous. What you’re saying about the EcoSport’s wet timing belt isn’t entirely accurate. Ford’s wet belt is specifically designed to run inside oil, made from a composite material that includes rubber, synthetic fibers (like Kevlar), and reinforcements to handle the oil environment. The oil actually helps reduce friction, wear, and noise. Yes, maintenance of the engine oil is critical, but if done properly, the belt lasts much longer than a traditional dry belt. Had my fair share of issues like diesel leak from pipe, limp mode due to improper cooling, abs not working and thus speedo and odo too. Tried many mechanics, they weren't able to solve them. At last we found a guy in our home town itself from whom my Dad used to repair his 1999 Ikon too. We spent about 50k on that car. And trust me best 3 lacs spent of our life. Cruises on highways like nothing else. Soo nimble in the city doesnt even feel you are driving such a long car. Such power that you wouldn't even notice when you pass small cars on road. Such Rear comfort and features for which you will have to spend upto 20 lacs in new cars market. Ps - It wouldnt give you new issues. Remember oil change does not remove the blockade of the engine oil filter. For that you have to open the oil pan. Extra cost!!! And we already have statistics on the internet about how wet belts are not reaching their claimed 250000 km replacement period. Max they have reached in the range of 120-150000 km. Which is just a little higher than the 100000 km replacement of regular belts.
Ecosports is the best❤❤❤ proud to own a Ecosports 2014 Diesel titanium... ❤❤ Had 10 years completed... 3 lakhs+KM
Proud owner of Honda City
Superb listing
My choices
Hatchback - Liva, Swift
Sedan - Corolla (its worth the risk on cost of parts)
SUV - Ecosport
Still wonder why, even after 2 products each in this listing, Ford and Toyota (practically) left this market
Vento Tdi owner here. We bought it used for 2.3 lacs only in 2022, Not the wisest decision of my life but still dont regret it.
In my 40k kms it didnt gave any new issues other than center Ac not working which we fixed under 5k. Buy it only if you are free on sundays and ready to spend them in garage's and have a decent knowledge of your car.

5:07 what about spares???
No issue with spares. This 1.5 diesel of Ford has sold more than enough numbers so spare parts are of no issue. A proud Figo sports Tdci owner from Kolkata. Recently my car has gone though rear brake shoe change and gear cables are also replaced. Overall extremely satisfied with Ford's aftersales even after their exit.
Ford has officially announced that they are coming back to India

As an i20 owner, I can confirm your analysis is bang on. Except mileage everything is great. Power is sufficient for city driving. Highly reliable car. I can just plan a trip and leave at midnight without thinking much about car related preparations.
Good list, Also can add Ford Fiesta to the list.
Great video, and thoughtfully researched/points for used car buyers
"On Demand" A full review of Ford Ecosport . "A Champion we cannot afford to lose" in Indian car market .
