The Gibson classic is like having the most perfect jacket that's appropriate everywhere. Timeless style.
I made it back from the hospital! Thank you for the live stream prayer and the prayers of each of you out there. I'm not fully recovered, but they now understand which bacteria it is. Luckily, my wife is a nurse.
Thanks again all, life savers!
Good to know that you are back home David!! May you get well soon!! The peace and blessing of God be with you!🤓
TBH, You looks like Walter White
He does!!!!
I have that exact model from 2006 with the gold hardware and it is definitely chambered. Funny thing is I was warned not to buy it because it’s chambered, but it is probably the best Gibson I’ve ever owned
cool...listen to your heart when you play....
I like the fact that you can look at the guitar and see that you put some miles on it....
👊😉
I have this guitar but made in 1993, with 498t and 490 pick ups, nice sound. All you need is a chair , 4.7 4.8 kg in your back many hours...🤕😅😎🎵🎵
absolutely!!! lol
I enjoy sow much seeing you improvising , I LOVE your stile. You are an inspiration. I just started playing guitar This year with 47 and its fantastic, will not stop playing until I die jajaja
Greetings from Spain. If you came here in the future sure I Will try to go to the concert. In six mouths I bought 4 guitars and two ampli. I never played a Gibson classic, but my Epiphone Les Paul 2019 it's grate for the price. 🤟😎
Thank you Luis!!! Stay safe!! ✌❤
I'm just about to get one for my son who is 11 this year. I previously bought him a Epiphone SG so he could practice his ACDC! I also got him a 1984 Tokai Gold Star Sound in Metallic Red. He loves them. I said to him that I would buy him a Gibson if he practiced and got better so crossed fingers I'll get this Cheery Burst 2006 LP Classic soon. Nice playing there Jonathan. Very very nice.
Thank you Lee✌️❤️
My '91 classic weighs 3.8kg sounds pretty light compare to your and your friend's. like you said they're easy to play great for hours of shredding 😅 despite all the talk about 500T/496R (original pickups) I decided to leave them they just sound versatile/responsive to my ears great for 80s hard rock/metal and I think that's what this guitar was originally intended for by Gibson if I'm not mistaken. I played the new classic the other day in a guitar shop and it's a totally different guitar compared to how they made it in the past made me wonder why they keep calling it classic 😂 great demo thanks. You play with great passion and style 👍
And yes!! You are right.. that’s the reason I left them pickups on my other LP.. very 80ish feel and sound✌️❤️
Absolutely beautiful Jonathan!!! I love that slide!❤️ I'm saving up for a real Les Paul for my grandson, he was born on Les Paul's 💯 th birthday... June. 9th, 2015. Guitar divine intervention...lol. ❤️👍🎸
nice!!!! what a great grand dad you are!!!✌🤓
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Thank you, I have 3 grandsons now at 54...lol. They already love music!!! I'm trying my best to help them get bitten by the guitar bug....lol!!!😁🎸
As always. Great playing! Really like to hear you talking about guitars.
Thank you Raiden!✌♥
Beautiful guitar. And you, always professional!
Grazie mio fratello!!😆
Love those classic models. I have a 2000 model in tobacco burst, and a newer 2020 in ebony. Something about a black Les Paul is hard to resist.
Lol.. I know some of my friends feels the same✌️❤️
A wonderfull sounding guitar beneath your fingers - Thx for showing and stay well
Danke Guenter!!✌❤
You make any guitar sound great Jonathan!
Thank you steve!!✌🤓
Both guitars look great.
Nice playing, Jonathan. The chord progression and the slide part of your backing track reminds me of Joe Walsh!
I don't own any Gibson guitars, but I have one Japanese Greco Les Paul which is very nice.
Take care! 😉
You too brother!!✌🤓
Oh boy Jonathan you’re playing a bucket list guitar for me. I know there is a lot of excellent copies these days but you just Have to have the legendary brands in your life at some time. Sounded great as with the playing as usual Jon. 👍❤️❤️
Yes Tom.. that’s why I bought mine... but truth be told, I would buy a new model if I have the funds✌️❤️
I really like the way you play guitar! That les paul is beautiful!
Thank you ✌️❤️
Sounds fantastic! You've got a great Les Paul there :)
I recently bought a 2017 Tribute Gold Top. It looks and plays great.
Thank you.. I B love the Gold TOP s!!✌️❤️
Beautiful playing
Thank you ✌️❤️
Hi Jonathan, it's really unfair from you ( kidding) , you can make any axe sings so good ... it's all in your fingers and spirit ( and experience ). I used to have a Gibs LP Std from 2011, but sold it because the tones from Burst Bucker Pros pick-ups where not my taste ( after few years of trying). I instead kept my Epiphone LP BB3 ebony finish, that I upgraded with Seymour SH2, SH1PG, SH5. About the neck of your Classic, slim taper is too thin for my hand, I prefer 59 shape, fatter than slim but thinner than 50. For €1600, I got a used high end Tokai, 3,9kg 1piece body, beautiful flamed solid maple top.
Ooo nice!!! Tokai guitars are great!!
Hey jonathan! Sweet Les Pauls! Take care buddy
Thank you James! You too!
Cool guitar. The one in my profile pic is a 2014 sea foam green 120th Anniversary edition with the 15db switch in the tone knob position. This thing has as hot as any pickups (Zebras) I’ve ever had. Love this guitar.
Awesome!! Looks great✌️❤️
Nice video Jonathan. Nice looking guitar, sounds good too. I knew I liked the tone from those pickups, I have them in my 1996 model (my fav guitar) ;)
Nice!!!! is it a classic too?
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Actually no :) Funny story, I went into the store that day to buy a classic, as I had saved up a lot of my first pay packets for just that purpose. However, when I walked into the store, I saw this unassuming but beautiful guitar hanging high on the top rack. I ignored it however and proceeded to try the classics on show that I had told myself before I walked in I needed. The guitar kept calling to me though and I told myself I had better try it. Once I played it, I was smitten. It was beautiful, played well and sounded great. It was actually a Les Paul Studio Lite. Now this caused me some dilemma. Its like falling for the girl at school that nobody likes. I mean weight relief was a gimmick right(?) and the studio lite wasnt being received well at the time, especially by the guitar snobs. She had no binding and no pickguard and no flamed maple top....I mean how could anyone fall for such a guitar? Well, the vintage sunburst was gorgeous and the flaws in the wood that shimmered in the light were more beautiful than any of the flame maple on the classic. It had the same hardware including pickups and came in at around halfway between the price of a regular studio and a classic, which left me enough money over to buy another amp :) Ive owned 4 other Les Pauls since that time and have let them all go (moved country a couple of times and culled collections) but still have that one (its my fav). Its funny how guitar life turns out.
I just bought a new 2020 Les Paul Classic in Transulent cherry last Monday! Love it! Greetings, Mario
Nice!! Hope nick did you paid for it??
1500€
@@marioruther6181 thats not too bad!
Excellent playing. Your right, I wouldn't buy a new one.
✌️❤️
Love my plain top Iced Tea Les Paul. It's a '58 VOS, from 2008.
Cool ✌️❤️
Mine does not have the word classic on the truss rod cover, but instead of Les Paul model, the word model is replaced with the word classic. Or maybe the previous owner replaced the cover.
✌💙
If a guitar makes you wanna play and put a big smile on your face like it did yours, you can’t put a price on it. If you’ve got the money and you get a Gibson for a fair price, they will hold their value, so you can’t really loose. I’ve opted for a used EPI I got on eBay for £150.00 (I was lucky) in fair condition and replaced the stock pickups for Seymour Duncan’s - when I compare it to my other guitars, it’s hard to beat for tone and playability. I love sunburst guitars, yours looks awesome. I love the ES-335 the best, they sit nice on your lap, light, great Jazzy/blues tones. I hope you get a chance to play one and demo it for us. You have a Tokai if I’m not mistaken, please demo it for us, maybe compare it with you LP? Thanks for the Demo, awesome!!
What a coincidence!! My Tokai came back yesterday!!!✌️❤️

Hi Jonathan, can you do a review on the new Gibson Original Collection Les Paul Standard 60s
Very Very nice..Enjoy!! Tim n Tina.
Thank you Tim n Tina! Stay safe!✌♥
What's up Jon. Found this video. Love it! I have identical guitar, but 2004. Question I have is why you don't use your picky finger when playing? Looks like you got long fingers and may not need it..Stay well.
It’s the way I’ve been playing for a mighty long time.. ✌️❤️
Nice playing great tone is that your own tune I dig it.....m
Thank you Bill.. just me jamming on a backing track✌️❤️
Hello! Nice vid ... amazing guitar ... Great ... just one question ... does that issue of ease to break neck on Gibson Les Paul, aplies to the acoustic models too ?!!
Thnaks ... Great vid ... bes regards from Portugal !!!!!
Rock On ...
Definitely!! Especially the Humming bird!!✌️❤️
Very nice 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank yu John!✌🤓
Hi Jonathan,I got question for you,are 500t in the bridge in this les paul and other les paul you own, what good Replacement Humbucker brand?
Dimarzio makes great humbuckers.. so Seymour Duncan. The Pete thorn buckers are nice too✌️❤️
Thanks for posting. Why the top wrap? Realize any benefits? Do you go up in gauge for your strings when you top wrap?
Supposedly adds a bit more sustain.. ✌️❤️
Nice, always wanted a Standard but good to know the Classic neck might be more desirable. About the drop in build quality, do you think Fender had a decline past couple decades too? Bouncing back maybe?
Well...i think it's basically Fender understanding the market...tweaking some of the makes they already have. Which is great!✌♥
One weird epiphany I've had only recently which seems so obvious now is of course the neck dimensions, but the FRET size! My goodness, is it me or is that the most important part?
Les paul classics are all 9 hole weight relief even the new ones . They classic has never been chambered .
Thank you for that info Adam✌️❤️
Hi Jonathan, great video!
I have an identical 06 classic.
Does yours have a printed serial number?
Thanks again.
Yes it does.. and it’s not mine ✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud
Thanks again, I'd never seen a printed number before and hoped it wasn't a fake. keep up the good work. I've subscribed.
Oh wait.. it’s not printed.. it’s etched in🤪
It’s actually roughly from the same period as my own classic maybe later..
@@JonIsJustTooLoud uh oh! Im pretty sure its genuine but probably need to research further. Thanks again.
Nice sound! 300k or 500k pots?
Not too sure ✌️❤️
Weight? Thanks for posting though!

My god Jonathan you're not sleeping?
lol!😜
Wow, is she non weight relief?
If so, please compare with new

I once own 2001 Studio.
Cheap, but good sound👍
Of course, heavy weight lol.
Thanks.
