👆 For more info the Gibson 2018 USA line up go here - bit.ly/2xU76w2
This is part 2 of 6 videos coming where we go through the 2018 USA range. By the way, all Gibson guitars are USA made, but for some reason, the core line of Les Pauls, SGs, Firebirds, Explorers & Vs is always referred to as the USA line. The Memphis range (semi acoustics), the Montana range (acoustics) & Custom Shop range are all made in the USA, but Gibson just give those ranges different names. Confused - so are we, but its been that way for a long time!
Rob is playing through a Mesa Boogie Mark V:35 with a GFI Specular Reverb pedal & Lee is using a Marshall 2525 Jubilee head & is using an EP Boost & a Dunlop Mini Wah in the front & an MXR Carbon Copy & Boss Reverb in the loop.
Next up is the Les Paul Tribute vs the Faded - stay tuned!
    Cheers!

Then you are being fooled by their marketing tricks. There is absolutely nothing special in a Gibson LP Classic or any other Gibson, except excellent pickups, which make them sound really good, I'll have to admit. But if you put in Classic 57, or Burstbucker for that matter, any guitar would sound that way, and it would be much cheaper and the guitar wouldn't be an obsolete over weight piece of junk (unless u buy another LP copy that foolishly try to copy the LP).

dazanom I do not like gibsons pups especially the 57's. Burstbuckers are ok but there are much better pups out there

For me it's been a toss between a traditional or a PRS Zach Myers. Looked in a big store in Manchester and saw a lot of QC issues with some of the Gibsons on display but i think you just have to look around to get a good one, i've always wanted a Gibson tho so will just have to wait till i find the one.

    • @xcrow0
      @xcrow0 7 років тому

I've had a few and haven't had an issue with any of them. Never had one unplayable come through the shop either. Every guitar has it's quirks that may take a certain level of adjustment through setup. I've played all kinds of brands that weren't setup well and would make someone think it was a POS. Not buying the "for that money they should be perfect". If they were to do professional level setups on every guitar they'd cost as much as PRS.

Another epic video guys! Prefering the Gibson range this year to last year although the pink Les Paul standard is maybe trying a bit too hard to be cool and modern! Totally respect those who are lovin' on the P-90 LP Classic--but I am so happy that I snagged a 2017 Classic model with the 57 Classic hummers before they made the switch. What an amazing guitar. They seem to have consigned the Classic to a niche market now with the single-coils, but no complaints since I already have the one I want. :-)

I think that's due to Std. and Trad. being mostly rehashes of 2017, but the Studio and Classic got a big overhaul, in a good way. Lots of people want binding without paying 2k and a P90 Les Paul, both things that haven't come around in a long time.

I read so many comments about how Gibbys are too expensive, especially when compared to PRS. Last I checked prices were pretty comparative for both manufactures. There’s a geet for everyone’s budget from both companies. There’s crossover between the two, but for the most part you’re either a PRS or a Gibson player. As a buyer, you’re either on a budget, spending mid-range or high end dollars. In my experience, there’s pros and cons to buying a geet from either company. All my heroes played Gibbys and that’s what I enjoy playing

Just on that side discussion about Phil Collins. To hear him in a progressive non commercial setting check out the band Brand X with John Goodsall on guitar.

The 2018 Les Paul BFG is probably the best guitar of the lineup. It's definitely the greatest deal. Shame you skipped over this model.

K Line San Bernardino does have 2 P 90s, don't know if it's considered a modern guitar, but they are hand made in St Louis MO, USA.

i think one of the biggest changes in the 2018 line is the 24.7 neck on the Studio AND the binding on the Studio. I like it though, and is a cost effective way for those who cannot buy the Standard, if you always wanted that neck feel. not crazy about the color options, but those changes are very cool.

I'm from Louisiana, USA. Self proclaimed home of tailgates. All you need is a vehicle, a spot, some brews, some friends, and some grub. Take it to the next level with bbq, games, and Big PA speakers playing terrible mainstream country at obnoxious volume levels lol. The sky is the limit really. BTW Lee's American accent was super fun and yes could easily be a "Southern Dad" hahahaha

Somebody needs to tell Gibson that they need to bring back the les Paul junior because damn those were amazing workhorse guitars, and one of their best and most popular models imo.

It's not often that I audibly laugh at a UA-cam video but the ending of this one... :-) Fantastic editing!
