Lee played really well today
I generally find I prefer Lee's playing. Lee's always nicely in the pocket. Chappers... not so much
Lee's lead over Rob's rhythm fit much better than Rob's lead over Lee's rhythm... on the intro anyway.
Gareth O'Brien while I do agree I think it's that lees blues style lends itself to jamming more than robs metal style. Just my 2 cents take care
As a metal player I agree.
Lee feels the music more and Chappers is always trying too hard imo...
Cheers for all the nice comments & to settle the debate I was ripping off a version of My Sacrifice by Creed - no idea why!! I think I just like that B to the A chord! Cheers!
CaptAnderton Hi Lee, is it me or is Rory not doing his job properly? 0.o ... I see no other colour options :(
Yeah - he missed that! The Studio is available in Red, Black & Black Cherry Burst - go to our web site to see it, Cheers, Lee
CaptAnderton what scale did u use in that intro jam, sorry I'm kind of a beginner
hey Lee, loved you in the Brittas Empire.
CaptAnderton I knew it! cheesy song, but cool riff...I know that makes little sense.
0:20 only time I have seen Lee play 3 notes on a string.
Vishal Sheth he plays lead a lot you must not have seen a lot of their videos
Holy shit Lee, you played great in this episode
can we just appreciate how far the captain's playing has come since they started these videos. I've now come to appreciate his playing as much as, if not more, than Rob's. great to see!
How can anyone give you guys a thumbs down???? Your videos are great!!! Informative, entertaining, etc. Keep up the good work and thank you.
Got to say that I am realatively new to youtube , a couple of months now but after watching lots of the different guitar related channels Chappers and the Capitan are two of my favourite people. I dont care that they are in it to sell stuff , every one got to eat. They are very entettaining and genuinely are great players and possitive and enthusiastic. Congratulations Chappers on your impending Dadness.
Really loved the first 1.5 minutes of heavenly jamming on those awesome Les Pauls!
Still cannot get over how good your jam sessions are! Great review (as always) y'all!
Both of you have gotten far better at playing this year. I know Rob has never struggled with technique but his timing is so good lately, the intro jams are killing it.
the tone in the intro was sooooo wonderful :)) Really great playing, Rob and Lee.
OMG that Green LP looks stunning!
Lee has never played better than that solo in the intro. Damn fine playing.
Another great video guys. I own the 2017 traditional in ocean green burst. So glad I took the plunge and bought something different. I absolutely love the guitar, the build quality this year is superb.
Captain back at it again with the awesome solos
Both of u guys were killing it on this video. Nice demo
Love the begining playing, you guys have got soul.
Great jam guys! Best you've ever sounded together! Beautiful sort of "Steeley Dan-ish". Love that high-perf LP too.
My dear Captain!
Your playing in this episode is smooth as f.... You are getting better and better!
That green one can only be bought by Argonians.
hank is love. hank is life.
I am so early, I see your comment has no likes.
thru a BLACK MARSHall amp.
ill see myself out..
m'aiq the liar can also buy gibson
Keep your riffs to yourself, sneak thief.
Thanks guys!! Love you videos, they help tremendously.
Holy smokes, Lee. You slayed it in that first jam. Nicely done.
I could listen to that end jam all day!
love the videos man your technique is flawless
I love when The Captain plays a guitar he's obviously really comfortable with, it always makes for much better jamming
Lee's lead in that opening jam was SO good!
Love the ZZ Top riff to end it. Such a classic Les Paul sound.
Stunning jam here lads, lovely and melancholic
I just got the '17 Classic T in Seafoam Green (GC Exclusive color). I also noticed the thing is way brighter than expected. For one, '57 Classics and then I opened the control cavity and WOW! HANDWIRED W/ ORANGE DROPS!! This is MY Les Paul :)
Your playing in this video is so nice to hear to. :-)
Amazing!
got a chance to play the classic in green, felt so damn nice. so easy to play
Necronomicon !! \m/
Ray Torvalds Lovecraft?
yeah
I like green guitars. Pretty hard to find though. Been looking for a strat deluxe in candy apple green forever.
I was waiting for this video since forever!!! The Classic is my model of interest and I ended up ordering it... taking a while to be shipped due to CITES regulations and so on, but at least this video will give me a bit more to look forward to.
Wow! What an amazing sound this Gibsons have!
Easily my favourite jam from The Capitan in the intro. Great Job with those licks Cap'!
Rob and The Captain....The best videos on planet earth !!!! Thank you ;-)
Love the GREEN Gibson Les Paul-absolutely SICK!🎸
That green one i swear I'm in love!
Lee is starting to feel the rock
I loved the opening jam! Nice!
finally you guys did this video.... I have been asking for this one... thanks..... definitely getting the classic, best bang for your buck......you forgot to say the classic traditional has locking tuners....cheers
The Gibson classic 57's are my favorite PU combo in a LP. I've got another one with a SD Pearly Gates/ 59 combo in it and while it's a great combo 8 times out of 10 when I want a LP I reach for my one with the 57's.
The PG/59's blew the 490's they replaced out of the water though. I know many people love them but they just aren't my cup of tea at all.
don't think I've ever seen you two have a better jam than at the start of this
I love Lee's playing and phrasing.
Wow that gold one sounds amazing! ; Side note this video was hilerious, Love you two !
In love with the green one
Lee's tone was so great this video!
I love the look of the 2017 range personally. I think they look great without the poker chip & with the chrome pots / pickup rings. The gold tops are my favourite, beautiful guitars!
I still like the blueberry finish the best. That was absolutely gorgeous
Those are the greatest Les Paul tones I´ve heard in a while!!! Great playing guys !!!! (I guess I really should check out those Victory amps) And, as always, entertaining and fun to listen!!! Keep it up!!! Greetings from Germany to Cap & Chap :D
The green one: its like a Les Paul should sound! Great tone!
Golden top looks fantastic, as always.
Loving Captain's playing!
Lee's playing is on point in the intro. Nice.
I liked the jam at the beginning, sounded really nice.
Amazing solo at the beginning, Lee!! ;-) :-D
That green one is beautiful, I need it
they sound amazing together.
Love this review! These days when it's fashionable to dump on Gibson, these guys spend a half hour playing and talking positively about these beautiful guitars. And by the way, they know what they're talking about. Bravo!
I actually bought a brand new Studio BECAUSE everyone was dumping on them. I love it. It plays great and everything on it works perfectly. Sometimes being a contrarian works out.
Lee's green LP reminds me of my epiphone LP from around 2000, makes me wanna change out the chrome pickups in mine for zebra and get the gold speed knobs on his
Rob, calm down yo shred
That sounded great, you two should bring out a record of that!
Lee stole the show with his playing and that beautiful green color.
This was my first Andertons video after buying the Wine Red Studio in 2017. I’ve been a fan ever since. Thanks guys!
I've seen countless videos, I tried, Ive seen you enough, you guys, I just can't haha goof luvk
What amazing guitar players:)
Congrats, Rob!
"None of the electronics do anything at all..." =D
I like that green LP together with zebra pickups. Looks killer!
I was not liking the sound of the RD1 until the studio hit it! awesome!
that gold LP without the pick guard looks freaking amazing 0_o sound lovely too
I love the tone of the classic.
The wizard hat editing in this video makes it a little silly - in a very good way. Always love the Captain and Chappers videos!
Never been a big fan of the gold top LP, but that gold.... the new gold Chappers is holding.... that just loox different and majestic!
The Green kick ass !
I think the gold top with the chrome hardware looks beautiful. Especially without the poker chip. Reminds me of EGC guitars.
That green is awesome. I dont really care much dor les pauls but i love that colour. I want a tele that colour
ooooooo loved that intro
Loved the intro the riff reminded me of everlong by the foto fighters
LOL "They call it a Stroller" , now that is hilarious lol. Congrats Rob on the incoming little one!
That green is freaking beautiful.
I'm in the US and really like your videos. I've been playing for 40 years and have enjoyed Gibson and Fender guitars (my pref) and have an idea for a show I know I would appreciate. You guys go through wonderful guitars and since I'm in the market for a Les Paul, I would like you guys to identify and demo THE PICKUPS for each of the models. So many combinations of woods, materials and pickups, I'd like to have a better understanding of how they're impacted by wood and material not to mention the different styles each pickups represent! :) What are the "hotter" LP's vs Traditional tones and etc. I'm curious of the 496T and 500T pickups and how they measure to the other pickups. Thanks for all of the videos ... still learning even at mid 50's!!! So cool.
6:54 this part is so good man, it could be a good pre-solo in a song, sounds pretty awesome 🤟🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.
Never seen a green les paul before, it looks great.
For those who don't know, the auto tuners on the pro versions are very nice to have, BUT they wear down on the nut quite a bit over a short period of time. I had a Studio Pro which I only had for a little over a week, and the "A" string started buzzing because it was eating down into the nut. I took it back and got the regular Studio, and so far it has been fabulous, no complaints from me about it at all.
That’s good to know.
I never needed that in the first place. I figured they wouldn’t work right.
Thanks for that…
Faubus
That green one is gnarly
Wow, Lee's getting better! :)
probably one of your best intros ever after the one from Gibson SG 2016 ;)
I'd kill for the green one so much
Just went to Andertons today and bought one of those gold tops. Truly lovely guitar but mine has wobbly knobs and the case is really heavy. Going to pop it back to see if they can sort the knobs but still love it.
Captain Lee was killing it
That green ocean burst les paul is incredible
What I believe is the cause of the wah sound, is because when it's out-of-phase, the sound from the neck pickup is going to be processed a split second after the bridge pickup. Because the neck is more responsive to bass and the bridge more responsive to treble, it gives it that sort of wah sound. And, this effect is MUCH more noticeable with Alnico pickups, too.
I wonder what Captain charges to fiddle with your knobs?;-)
hey im a big fan man. I watch your videos all the time here at the pyramids
SWEET:-)
Looking forward to the Silvercross v McLaren review guys. This ole rock'n'roll gig isn't gonna last for ever. Gotta widen your viewership. QVC here you come!
Sick opening guys
i love the differences they get just by adding less and more mid and bass
I'd love either of these really. Definitely want a heavier one, though.
hope they review the Gibson Midtown this year, I have one and I love it to bits!
These two make a living playing on gibson les pauls all the time in addition to other cool instruments....yea they have this "life" thing figured out pretty damn well....
great review
