  • Fishing for trout with trout tube baits is a highly underutilized technique that works very well in creeks and rivers but also produces bites in ponds and lakes. Rainbow, cutthroat, and brown trout all have fallen to this deadly technique. In this video Marlin from Addicted Fishing breaks down the setup from top to bottom and shows you how to get out there and catch some fish using trout tubes. Thanks so much for tuning in, please give this video a thumbs up, tap subscribe and don't forget the bell!!

    In SoCal we mostly use tubes for trout or we call them "mini jigs". We use ultra light tackle and you almost have to use 2lb test to cast the mini jig. 1/32 seems to have the best drop rate and action. 1/16 is too heavy and 1/64 is too light to cast for any distance. The brown/green frog color seems to work best. The next best iut here would bright green power bait on Carolina rig. Thanks for the videos, I watch them almost every day.

    Hi there!! Watching from Indiana. We don’t have too much native rainbow trout here but I’d love to know how to rig a trout tubes just in case I find some trout in the spring time when they spawn! You guys are awesome! Always supplying us with great gear and content!! Much love 👊🎣 Stay fishy!

    This is perfect timing. I took my nephews fishing today for cutthroat and bull trout. Caught a few little cutties on spinners but they don't quite have the concept of slow rolling a spinner through a run or under a log. It is just cast and reel, lol. I will have to get some of those tubes to put under a float. It is good to have a variety of lures for them to rotate thru as well. Kind of an attention span thing.

    Glad to see you guys getting this info out there! I used to kill it back east with tube baits crappie, walleye, and bass. If you look up crappie tubes intead of trout tubes you'll find they literally cost pennies each and come in 1000 different colors (crappie guys are VERY serious about color choice lol). Just stick to the slightly more expensive tubes, the super cheap tubes skirts just dont have the same flexibility and movement underwater. Bobbers I've always prefered the small fluorescent stemless teardrop floats. I bought generic but E-Z trout floats are the same deal. Cheeeeeap gear cause you lose ALOT fishing branch piles and overhanging brush.

    Good video, I've caught a lot of nice trout on crappie jigs, red and white has been a good color. We use them a lot in lake's, dropping them to the bottom and reeling up a couple of cranks, and jigging. Scent works well on them too.

    • @BigGenesisFan
      @BigGenesisFan 4 роки тому +1

      I’ve been going to Wood river down in Hope Valley for 30 years. That is not for the kids though. Fishing Wood river is a challenge for anybody. The best places for the kids would be Carbuncle, Tiogue Lake, and Tarbox pond in Coventry. Lincoln Woods is another great place. And it is huge and right off the highway. Those are just a few of my favorites. If you go to the Rhode Island DEM website, there’s a list of like 40 places they stock in Rhode Island. You’ll be able to find something closer to home. Good luck. 👍🏼

      I think they use 10lbs braid because it has the same diameter as 4lbs monofilament or very close to it, but i could be wrong. It cast very well. Even 8lbs braid is nice for Ultralight set ups. And 8lbs braid is the same diameter as 2lbs mono. I like spiderwire braid. That's where those numbers came from lol just so you know. But 4lbs mono or fluro is alway a fun fight.

    Never fish trout with more than 4lb. I usually use 4lb with 4 foot 2lb leader. Also don't use tht type of bobber. Ether the trout magnet ones or even fly fishing floats depending water/weight/current. Ultra light 8ft rod on 1000 reel. Small split shots and hooks. Used this set up since I was kid and learned it from best trout fishermen i know. I honestly can't take anyone using heavier line 8lb+ seriously when see and talk to them on the river. If u know u know.

      When I say trout I'm talking rainbows, brooks, brown, cut throat, tiger. I've never fished for lake trout or steel heads but I'd imagine you'd use little heavier line for those 6-8
