Force ghosts interacting with the real world is not new in canon. Though if you're relying only on the movies I guess it seems a bit out of place. Also, the planet is a strong source of force power, so it can be assumed that anything to do with the force would be amplified.
Yeah, it does bring up the fridge logic of "Why didn't force Yoda short out Vader's breather" or whatever, but that's the kinda of thing you wonder in a lot of mythology "Why doesn't mysterious spirit/god just do _____ and solve the problem" that you just kinda get over. I know it doesn't make it ok, but it wasn't a deal-breaker for me.
Ryan de Klerk As soon as you need to start making assumptions for the movie... stop yourself right there. If it isn't explained in the movie or previous films, you're left with two possibilities: either it was left purposefully ambiguous to create a sense of mystery or intrigue... or they waved the magic movie making hand and made it so. And using the former option in a series with an established canon is a risk.
The tracking through hyperspace was normal in expanded universe. To avoid this Rebels were using a multiple of small jumps to hide their tracks. Basically launching yourself through a hyperspace works like throwing a rock and with a good tech you can calculate the entire path just from the first 0.01 seconds when you can still detect the ship on your sensors.
For a moment I harboured hope that the series is going to go against the "Good/evil" grain and that Rey and Kylo are going for the morally ambiguous "greater good". But obviously that was never going to happen. It's too bad.
I thought the plot was going to be that they were sort of twinned by the force, and would develop this weird relationship where they really like and care for each other, but are also trying to turn each other over to their side. I wanted Rey to take Kylo's hand when he offered it. Then instead of a poor attempts of the Emperor to turn over nicey-nice Luke Skywalker to the darkside, the final movie of this trilogy would be the genuine inner-struggle in Rey to whether she chooses to use Kylo's influence to install her into some sort of morally-ambigious position of power, or whether she will destroy him in favour of an increasingly dilapidated resistance who might not even be able to re-take control of the universe for good.
Kylo said he wanted it all to end so I think he's not saying join the dark side rather than get rid of the light side and the darkside and rule the world
The bit where Grey talks about the Train in The Hobbit is actually in the Fellowship of the ring. At Bilbo's party scene the firework dragon is described as moving like an express-train.
This discussion makes me realize just how huge of a star wars nerd I am. The old "Legends" expanded universe had explanations for so many of the technical issues that were brought up... I started making a list, but abandoned it because I couldn't type fast enough to keep up (and I was unwilling to pause).
LoC NineSevenEight I just want a movie with the old republic. Although, given the last jedi, I don't think that'll turn out well. I guess I'll just have to keep playing Kotor for some quality storytelling.
LoC NineSevenEight I was having the same reaction the entire time. As the video went on I could agree with more of the points being brought up, but for a while there in the first half I couldn't get behind a lot of the 'this doesn't make sense' points. Suppose most people weren't into reading the EU though, so I can't really blame them.
LoC NineSevenEight Legends isn't canon. Disney bought Star Wars, remember...? As lovely as the EU is, it doesn't matter in the context of the new films. Although, I'm choosing to pretend the new films don't exist until episode 9, and if that doesn't fix it, I'll live in blissful ignorance.
I had a feeling that Brady and Grey would tear this film to shreds and feed it to their dogs...and I was right. I actually like the film however. Thanks for a great review guys!
What does liking SW8 have to do with SJW? Not at all, if anything I'm anti-SJW. I just knew they would pan this film based on what I saw in their review of Rogue One. I liked it because I am not a die-hard fan like they are. This movie (like Rogue One) will be distasteful to die-hard SW fans.
You could probably call me a SJW but I disliked this film. I'm glad to have diversity in Star Wars but they gotta make it a good movie, and they failed to do that. Political leanings have nothing to do with liking/disliking this film.
Well for some people, like the Toronto Guy (see his UA-cam channel) review it is all about politics as he is a very big anti-SJW and pro-MGTOW figure. He praised the film mockingly and sarcastically in his review. I used to judge most films on the SJW-antiSJW spectrum but not anymore. Now I first analyze my feelings and decide if I liked it / had fun. For example I just had A LOT of fun with Thor Ragnorok; it was so unexpectedly fresh and funny. Then I'll go and watch the nit pick videos and find out about the plot holes and character defects I missed. Same goes here in SW8. I decided that I did have fun with it (so did CGP Grey if listen to this review to the very end). I thought Daisy and Adam Driver delivered compelling performances and decided to overlook the numerous flaws. So, yes there ARE numerous flaws but they didn't hinder my enjoyment. I decided to stop nitpicking otherwise I realized I'd probably almost never enjoy another movie again. Thanks for your comment.
Not that you are going to read this but: The first order believed they had them on the ropes and wouldn't need to bring in more resources(resource distribution in a galactic empire is very important) basically they were confident that it wasn't going to be an issue. The rebels based on their plan for cloaking the "escape pods" would make me think you would want to keep them chasing you and make them think they almost have you. So when they do destroy the ship at the end, they could believe the resistance was destroyed for good. Now why the three different ships didn't jump to hyper space in different directions I have no idea since we are told in the movie that it was only the lead ship being tracked and the resistance knew it was only the lead ship being tracked.
@43:20 FYI the word 'train' predates its modern usage for a locomotive pulling a series of carriages. the word originates from the Old French 'to draw out/pull' and in Middle English usage could refer to anything trailing another in a direction, common examples being 'the train of a dress', or the 'baggage train of an army', or more generally a train of people [moving in a line].
The explanation of how they were being tracked can be found in the scene where Po and the others steal a ship. It had on board plans for imperial AND rebel ships. It stops at the plans for Fin’s new fancy x wing and then cuts to it in the bay aboard the rebel ship. The implication being that at least some of the ships the rebels were using were seeded with a tracker.
For your information the term Laser Sword is used in several of the previous movies. Also "Legends" is not the original movies, but a term used for all the other tons of Star Wars material that has been produced over the years, whether through comic books, books, games, etc.
Thank you guys, one issue I had was that the size of the galaxy was so small. I ride the bus with more people than the resistance has at the end and they are the last hope of the entire galaxy, just makes no sense and ruins everything. No one really discussed this when the movie came out.
I really loved the movie, but I can see a lot of the criticisms Grey and Brady have. I looked at it more from a filmmaking/cinematic perspective, and enjoyed it thoroughly on that level. Now I can see how looking from a Star Wars fan/Star Wars universe persepective would make it incredibly frustrating.
Alright, no way. This was one of, if not the third, most messy film in the franchise. There was very little good in this film from a technical standpoint...
Um... I don't think your statement makes sense. From a filmmaking/cinematic perpective it represnts everything wrong with modern day cinima and then some.
It comes off, like Grey said, as a feud between directors/studios/behind-the-camera-people. I've got decent hopes for the 9th movie, only because JJ will be back at the helm (never thought I'd say that), and thus we'll get something that feels more like The Force Awakens in a _Return of the Jedi: JJ Abrams Edition_ kind of way like how Force was a JJ'd New Hope.
I'm waiting for my university entry exam results and Hello Internet comes out, this is great because I was nearly having a panic attack And specially a chapter about Star Wars, just marvelous!
The elements of our reality was already in the first Star Wars. The size of Death Star’s exhaust port was 2 metres, and the tractor beam interface was in English (fixed later). And of course Luke called Leia “Carrie” by mistake. The passage of time was also a criticism in the Empire Strikes Back.
Star wars legends isnt the original trilogy its the entire expanded universe such as the comics and novels that came before disney bought lucasfilm making the the 6 original movies, star wars the clone wars and anything that becomes after it the only thing that is canon. Many assume that disney did this so that the huge catalogs of canon info was wiped clean so that it was easier for them to make new movies
I do believe that KotOR I & II, and SWtOR are also canon, because SWtOR is still under active development (which is a major reason that Clone Wars was canon)
I don't see anyone actually refer to legends by legends and still just call it EU. However Disney stuff is called the Disney Canon. As Disney Canon is for most part universally hated too much to call it EU.
Main thing that stood out to me with both The Last Jedi and The Force Awakens was that they made everything feel really small. Like, they made their new death star a planet, the beam shooting across space that was somehow visible from all these different planets, the issue talked about here with the order not having spare ships... the impression I came away with was that the star wars galaxy is about the size of europe, maybe? It's tiny.
41:00 Brady! - Yoda did not burn the texts - Yoda says to Luke "Wisdom they held, but that library contained nothing that the girl Rey does not already possess.” - Because she took the texts! they were in the Falcon - When Fin opened the drawer to pull out the blanket for rose, they were in the drawer! So, Yoda meant literally that she possesses the books!
One thing that a lot of people seemed to miss about Luke's death. It was foreshadowed an hour or two beforehand. When Kylo and Rey first are bridged, Kylo says something like "I know you're not projecting yourself here, the effort alone would kill you". How does Luke die? The effort alone from projecting himself kills him
The Light speed tracking was referenced in rogue one. As jyn is reading off the imperial files, she says "lightspeed tracker" which means it was being worked on as early as before the battle of yavin.
I think for the force projection, on the scale of what Luke uses, he coordinated his movements to look exactly as if Kylo was actually fighting him and Luke was just very good at dodging, but he never physically interacts with anything. Leía could know perfectly well that the dice are an illusion, she could not actually feel them as they had no mass, and the actual dice were still on the Millenium Falcon. That is my reading on the scenes, at least.
The space battle was huge. The triangular big ship was a beast in the books and the flagship was also at least a super-destroyer tier. The fact that rebels had one Corelian cruiser made it absurd.
it could be seen that a force ghost such as yoda could interact as long it does not unbalance the force. yoda mentions rey already knows everything within the jedi texts so this will not change the balance in the force which is the only reason that yoda can burn down the tree
What some people need to realize, is that Luke Skywalker in this movie is no longer the hero everyone remembers him as. He is a disillusioned old man who feels like he created Kylo Ren and failed his sister. He felt like he wasn't the hero the galaxy deserved, but in the end he came out of hiding as people remembered him and gave them the hero they wanted instead of what he had become. It's not that hard to imagine Luke changing in the years that had past since episode six, is it?
If he’s not playing the character then don’t put like sky walker in the film. If you want an old dissolutioned man who created Kyle ten then make a new character. But if you’re going to put Luke Skywalker in the movie then he needs to act like Luke Skywalker how do people not understand this. It isn’t consistent. That’s bad writing.
actually, when i went to harkins to see the movie, i was really surprised because i didnt see any posters for star wars and it was only like a week after the movie came out
I think having Rey and Kylo join up would have been a great play. We've already established that they don't really give a good moral argument for the resistance and in fact on several points go out of their way to point out that the resistance has done awful things too. Rey is strongly foreshadowed to have a lot of darkness in her and Kylo having the light pulling at him is quite literally his entire character arc in every scene he's in for both movies. It'd be great if this really WAS the end of the Jedi and Sith orders just like Luke predicts. That would at least make sense in the flow of the movie and make the last thirty minutes of building the relationship between Rey and Kylo have some fucking purpose at all. The entire movie builds up to that almost purposely to mislead you into thinking their gonna do this. It's Finn's failure all over again. A random unforeseeable and unforeshadowed event that was entirely avoidable and unnecessary to the plot. Leave the over simplified kitten saving good guy and the mustache twirling villians for super hero movies, I say. Or at least build a story where the good guys actually do good things and the bad guys are understandably evil instead of just SAYING "these guys are bad and these guys are good". Also, if Rey and Kylo aren't getting together then why was she there at all? She shows up to watch Kylo do a thing and then leaves. She was irrelevant to the overarching plot for 98% of the movie. Finn was irrelevant to the overarching plot for 97% of the movie. Luke was irrelevant to the overarching plot for 97% of the movie. Aren't these the main characters? The actual main plot is, in its entirety, taunting the first order, a "slow speed" chase in space that ends with getting caught and launching escape pods (with a very long sideplot to avoid getting caught that actually accomplishes less than nothing and could have not happened entirely without the story changing at all), big bad gets killed by his apprentice, then a final showdown where two sides fire vaguely at one another without anyone important actually accomplishing anything before the first order cracks into the base, Rey lifts some rocks, and they fly away. Very few of the main characters do anything meaningful in the entire movie. That doesn't even begin to go into the countless stupid things people do that make no sense in universe. Here's a few that I can remember being bothered by off the top of my head, but is by no means an exhaustive list. Why did we wait for the escape pods to get shot at before deciding to destroy the enemy flagship? Why was that not something you were already going to do? Why was that not something that every other ship you lost did? Why was it that nobody could figure out how they were being tracked until two random people decide to think about it for six and half seconds whereupon both of them are capable of independently figuring it out despite one of them having no apparent technical expertise? If this was so obvious, how did EVERYONE else miss it? Why didn't the commander just TELL her men the plan that Poe later decides is completely acceptable and quite smart in fact instead of going out of her way to SEEM like she had no plan, pushing him into his own plan that ultimately gets half the resistance killed? Because they only know to check for stealth escape pods because Finn gets caught. Also, why do they not ALWAYS check for escape pods? It apparently takes no effort to find them when you decide to look. Why were there so very few first order ships hunting down the last of the rebels? How can the incredible mind reading, body controlling, empire ruling big bad who is somehow aware of things happening planets away through the force, not notice the deadly weapon next to him moving due to the force? Why? WHY!? IT'S SO STUPID! DAMN IT, MOVIE!
I'm surprised that they didn't mention the "leak" when someone said to General Hux "I believe he's tooling with you, sir." That line felt so out of place in a Star Wars film.
It would have been cooler if the resistance cruiser had only K.O.ed the capital ship. The fact that it was able to take out nearly every single ship in Snoke's fleet felt... way too over the top. It was like a character in some anime using his ultimate final power to single-handedly kill a whole army. And it makes you wonder... why haven't either side used this ability before? If a ship can kamikaze into a fleet to such devastating effect, it would make a lot of sense to sacrifice one cruiser to take out 5 or more of the enemy's ships. As for Force Projection, it looked like the strain of it sort of... killed him? Hence why Jedi probably don't use it all that often.
For Snook's guards, they are retconning the first two trilogies, where the emperors guards were less than useless, either vanishing in Jedi, or being taken out instantly by force pushing them in Revenge of the Sith. The red guards didn't run away, or just roll with the new guy, because (its implied) they are professional bodyguards, like the Roman emperor's guards, and, one would assume, there is more to the First Order than just one person. Its like if someone in the current leadership stepped out of a crowd and killed the president of the US. Would you really expect all the secret service to just run away, or just srug and start guarding the new guy ? Also, they are VERY much like Ninjas, even down to they each had their own goofy custom melee weapons, which where very Ninja like, especially the segmented sword/whip. That toy was strait out of fantasy Ninja lore.
I haven’t seen the last Jedi, but I think I’ll be more entertained by listening to HI talking about it then actually watching it. Love the show guys keep it up!
They took the symbol crash out of the opening theme and reworked some of the music. That's why it was off and d idnt make you tingle. Isn't it crazy how you could subliminally tell.
HISHE: Leia died during the bridge explosion, Rey turns to the dark side while Kylo runs to the aide of the Rebels, Finn dies in the cannon, and Kylo teams up with Luke to fend off the FO at the blast door.
"why did the bombs fall if they were in space?" There was actually gravity in that entire scene. If you watch the planet below them and some other stuff, they weren't in orbit. They were just pinned in space. Everyone was levitating inside the gravity well.
It is sort of a shame that we never learned anything about Snoke and some things were way too convenient for me, like the entire galaxy being reduced to 400 guys in no time, Rey levitating a huge bunch of rocks, with essentially no training, the hyperspace jump-attack and the Finn vs Captain Phasma fight was just dumb.
Rather than laughter, Grey, I had to hold down a "What the fuck??" when I saw that scene with Rose and Finn. This movie was expert application of tonal inconsistency.
CGP's closing statements about how star wars is becoming like marvel made me sad because it is true but depressing to think something so iconic has gone to this
Star Wars Legends was the large amount of books, comics, and other media that involved the Star Wars universe before Disney bought them. All the movies and the new extra content that Disney has been producing is the new canon. Legends is to separate all the stuff that already existed from the stuff now without discarding 30+ years of star wars media
Regarding warping ahead of the Resistance ships, I just assumed that warping in isn't an exact science, aka there would be a perhaps 10000km radius where you can be off your mark by. Also, if it's established that warp travel takes actual several hours to perform then the First Order reinforcements wouldn't be able to reach the Resistance ships before their 16 hour time limit is up hence General Hux decided not to waste resources on this since he already won anyway
I fully agree with almost all of this show. But one thing you've seen to have missed is that the boy at the end forced pulled the broom to him. It's not about being "we're all rebels" but about there still being "Jedi". And yes, i know i'm 3 weeks late to the party ;) Oh, and i really like Rogue One. It's actually one of my favorite films in the Star Wars universe.
So, I think the reason the hyper drive weaponization thing isn't used is because it is incredibly inefficient. When you produce enough force to cause atoms to smash together fusing or fissioning, the amount of damage it did was completely underwhelming for what the physics says it should be.
I feel like I just watched the casual banter between a pair of puffins. Amazing.
Two puffins talking.
Porgs... All the Puffins on the island in TLJ were covered/transformed into Porgs. It was easier than editing them out...
legends is the old pre Disney extended universe stuff but not the core movies
rustyholt64 Canon includes much more than just the movies. Books, comics, video games, animated shorts, etc.
Ryan de Klerk much of the old comics, games, and books are all non cannon since Disney purchased it
Ailuropoda melanoleuca Nineoneone

Because of the artillery pieces
Matt Grimes I don’t think they can do that... can they?
Soooo... If Rose prevented Finn from buying a whole lot of time with the battering ram, making Luke's intervention necessary... Can we say that Rose caused the death of Luke Skywalker?
Well Yes, but actually No.
Yes
Legends refers to the stuff previously known as the Expanded Universe.
This is correct. Legends refers to the books video games and such produce before the Disney acquisition.
It is 100% Kylo Ren who killed Snoke. You see him moving his hand to turn the lightsaber.
disagree
My perspective is: kylo did it but it wasn’t real... it’s a fake out,.. even to him
Franciszek Klonowski that's, objectively, what happened
I am not convinced Snoke is dead. Either his bridge between Rey and Kylo is permanent, or he's not dead. Rey and Kylo force-see each other again when Rey is loading everyone up onto the Falcon (significantly after Snoke is toast)...
yeah.

The EU was canon. They even had continuity folks in charge of it. However, Lucas did state he would do as he pleased with new movies if he did them.
I'm sorry, but I feel like we need to talk about the thumbnail...
Jacob Waltz does anyone know what it is?
Grey wolf I know it's supposed to be one of Snoke's gaurds... but let's just say this video might get demonetized
Yeeeah I gotta say the imagery is quite... striking.
Why is nobody else saying that it looks like the demon Mara from Shin Megami Tensei? SEGA is gonna sue Hello Internet.
I think that Yoda burned the temple so Luke wouldn't notice that Rei stole the texts, not only for the lulz.
Also because he's trying to get Luke to move on from the idea of "The old Jedi way."
The Porgs exist because the native puffins on the island could not be removed from every shot.
If ducks and snakes are canon, puffins have three rights to be canon too.
This podcast was almost as anticipated as the movie.
feelsgoodtobeyoung *The movie was almost as anticipated as the podcast
The Knights of Ren Logo
is a bit phallic, isn't it.
ExceIsior Its probably just a reference to Mara from Shin Megami Tensei.
Yoda only destroyed the tree, Rey grabbed the jedi scripts inside before he burned it down!
If you eyeball the background very closely. Not something most people catch on the first watch.
It wasn’t in the background, but it was too quick a shot of the books. Not many people registered what they were
Yoda also says "There is nothing in that tree which the girl, Rey, does not already possess."
TheLoreSeeker Yeah, I love Yoda and the way he talks!
He is one if my favorite characters!
TheLoreSeeker Yoda loves to gaslight Luke don’t you know
I fall into the camp of people who are legitimately angry at this movie for the very reasons Grey and Brady hit on so I very much enjoyed this review.

Ryan de Klerk Also the fact that the rediscovery of force ghosts is relatively new in universe.
I believe there is some stuff in the Clone Wars TV Show.
Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars 3 looks like Brady. Brady... Are you hiding something?
"I'm gonna end it looking up at the night sky holding a broom" XD
3:35 so he was a stick figure with glasses? would've killed to see that!
Thank you guys, one issue I had was that the size of the galaxy was so small. I ride the bus with more people than the resistance has at the end and they are the last hope of the entire galaxy, just makes no sense and ruins everything. No one really discussed this when the movie came out.
Anakin said "lazer sword" in TPM when he meets Qui-Gonn
Are you saying TPM is a *positive* example?????
Anakin is a naive child. I guess the idea is that Luke is mocking Rey's naivete, but yeah, that was from THE BAD MOVIE.
laser. It's an acronym
Star Wars 8: Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money
"She's gone from 'suck' to 'blow'!"
This movie made me vomit in the parking lot... it's fucking garbage
I'm waiting for my university entry exam results and Hello Internet comes out, this is great because I was nearly having a panic attack
And specially a chapter about Star Wars, just marvelous!
Okay, I chuckled right out of the gate. Clever video choice. Great start, I just hope you won't trash the movie too much. :)
This man ^ was thoroughly disappointed
Wizard King haha.. yeah, that was fun if not a bit painful
But this piece of garbage so deserves to be trashed!
I do believe that KotOR I & II, and SWtOR are also canon, because SWtOR is still under active development (which is a major reason that Clone Wars was canon)
actually no as much as they are still being worked on they are apart of star wars legends and are thus not canon
Merry Christmas Gentlemen. Thank you for doing what you do!
I was so angry at hearing all of this because it is so true,
but then I saw those puffins and I forget everything
One thing that a lot of people seemed to miss about Luke's death. It was foreshadowed an hour or two beforehand. When Kylo and Rey first are bridged, Kylo says something like "I know you're not projecting yourself here, the effort alone would kill you". How does Luke die? The effort alone from projecting himself kills him
A Star Wars Holiday Special? Hell yes!
The Light speed tracking was referenced in rogue one. As jyn is reading off the imperial files, she says "lightspeed tracker" which means it was being worked on as early as before the battle of yavin.
I had to ignore this episode until today - thanks for the spoilers warning
I think for the force projection, on the scale of what Luke uses, he coordinated his movements to look exactly as if Kylo was actually fighting him and Luke was just very good at dodging, but he never physically interacts with anything.
Leía could know perfectly well that the dice are an illusion, she could not actually feel them as they had no mass, and the actual dice were still on the Millenium Falcon.
That is my reading on the scenes, at least.
Who knew puffins had such salient points to make on Star Wars.
The space battle was huge. The triangular big ship was a beast in the books and the flagship was also at least a super-destroyer tier. The fact that rebels had one Corelian cruiser made it absurd.
Didn't Rey steal those books though? Feel like she did. Figured that is why Yoda just burned the tree down.
The dice appeared in ANH
Geek Chorus Found them 52 minutes in, Chewie bumps his head on them entering the cockpit :)
**WARNING**
SPOILERS AHEAD
**YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**
Max Nadeau holdo and luke died
wount you need to see the movie an already be spoiled to know who holdo is
Gray you perfectly expressed my thoughts on that scene with Rose ruining Fin's suicide mission.
it could be seen that a force ghost such as yoda could interact as long it does not unbalance the force. yoda mentions rey already knows everything within the jedi texts so this will not change the balance in the force which is the only reason that yoda can burn down the tree
This *is* a Merry Christmas after all.
legends is the old continuity based on all the books written around the original and prequel trilogies.
QuantumNight2002 yes!!! Thank you! This is exactly right.
I know that's the reasoning, it was just done boringly IMO.
It's not the concept that's bad. It's the execution.
@@christiansanchez1644 Luke created Kyle? holy shet
actually, when i went to harkins to see the movie, i was really surprised because i didnt see any posters for star wars and it was only like a week after the movie came out
As someone who never watched Star Wars, listening to these Star Wars episodes feels like listening to the Tommyball podcast.
Man, those birds are just not blinking.
Brady please torture Grey until he watches Game of Thrones
The underwater fin boats have is called a Keel.
I think possibly the best part of Rose screwing things up and kissing Fin and all that is that she knew Fin for 18 hours. 18 hours. 18 HOURS.
I'm surprised that they didn't mention the "leak" when someone said to General Hux "I believe he's tooling with you, sir." That line felt so out of place in a Star Wars film.
Han Solo dies
On the point of "Leaking Galaxies", the purple-hair admiral said at one point "Godspeed Rebels"...
Taz121292 they say that multiple times
I love this conversation very insightful and impressive
Goddamn I’ve been waiting for this for nearly a week
I haven’t seen the last Jedi, but I think I’ll be more entertained by listening to HI talking about it then actually watching it. Love the show guys keep it up!
"Laser sword" was also used by Anakin in Episode I
They took the symbol crash out of the opening theme and reworked some of the music.
"why did the bombs fall if they were in space?"
There was actually gravity in that entire scene. If you watch the planet below them and some other stuff, they weren't in orbit. They were just pinned in space. Everyone was levitating inside the gravity well.
1:24:00
The chrome stormtrooper was Gwendoline Christie from the force awakens.
She was captured and gagged and humiliated by fin in the last movie.
Yeeee boi Star Wars christmas special
Doesn't Anankin refer to Qui-Gon's lightsaber as a laser sword in TPM?
CGP's closing statements about how star wars is becoming like marvel made me sad because it is true but depressing to think something so iconic has gone to this
1:38 That breath in plus the "oh yeah" sounds like he doesnt agree at all lol
Star Wars Legends was the large amount of books, comics, and other media that involved the Star Wars universe before Disney bought them. All the movies and the new extra content that Disney has been producing is the new canon. Legends is to separate all the stuff that already existed from the stuff now without discarding 30+ years of star wars media
Dont forget that LS island might have different day lengths than the other planet so the sun cycle could possibly only be a few hours per day
Regarding warping ahead of the Resistance ships, I just assumed that warping in isn't an exact science, aka there would be a perhaps 10000km radius where you can be off your mark by.
And yes, i know i'm 3 weeks late to the party ;)
Oh, and i really like Rogue One. It's actually one of my favorite films in the Star Wars universe.
Star Wars legends is what disney is calling the Expanded Universe (EU)
One of the things that has really been missing for me in the new movies is the 20th Century Fox fanfare. It's just so iconic.
YES! Perfect for when the Christmas party is over.
THANK YOU! Every person I've spoken to about not like various parts of the movie has looked at me like I was crazy!
The new official Tim tradition.
So, I think the reason the hyper drive weaponization thing isn't used is because it is incredibly inefficient. When you produce enough force to cause atoms to smash together fusing or fissioning, the amount of damage it did was completely underwhelming for what the physics says it should be.
