I've found this to be incredibly true on the internet. If you've got to write a paper, but don't want to spend a lot of time looking for sources and citations, just do what you said and you'll save a whole bunch of time.
About the Peloton Bike commercial: Brady, I think you're overthinking it. Her taking selfies, and making the compilation, can actually be something that helps her do it. Its functionally no different from an exercise journal. And the compilation is about showing herself, and her husband, how much she's progressed over the year. And yeah, the video includes her thanking her husband, who is right next to her. She probably recorded it while he was asleep.
I actually do something similar, ever since I started working out and eating healthy I've posted an update on my Instagram story about my workout and meals of the day. I know no one cares, but just having the knowledge people are seeing it gives me more motivation to be healthy during the day, so I don't have a disappointing update.
This episode populated to UA-cam much sooner than it populated to Overcast despite it already being in Apple's podcast directory (and Apple Podcasts). Overcast must crawl at a different rate. Very interesting.
As a Chinese, I can say I was deeply bothered by Brady saying oil last episode . But some hotpots do use oil, it's a speciality in some regions. Maybe Brady ate that instead. A pity he didn't try a classic with broth instead.
I'm just over an hour and the conversation about the Peleton bike is fucking comedy gold!! XD I love what they don't get, and what they do get; and it reminds us that, "Turns out, Woah, people are different - no shit!"
Re: carbonic acid, yes it's possible; as it happens, the CO2 hydration reaction is actually fairly slow, and this can be frustrating for chemists (say, trying to measure the pH of a solution that CO2 is still bubbling out of), and is frustrating enough to biochemistry that we have carbonic anhydrase enzymes in our blood, ensuring rapid CO2 exchange. Which means, for the ultimate experiment, if you're so inclined: you could take a glass of formerly-fizzy water, add a few granules of carbonic anhydrase (find it at a chem supply or supplement store, probably), let it bubble out some more, and taste it again! (Or the free version, just let a glass sit out for a few days or weeks.)
IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE also just a miracle because the last 3 times I've driven 6 hours, there's been a fresh to day-old Hello Internet for me to listen to.
I may have this wrong now but roof or no roof, Notre Dame still has (had?) a vaulted ceiling up there. The ashes of the burnt up roof collapsed onto the topside of that ceiling I think, so all the talk of more or less light coming through is pointless. Considering what Brady says about liking modern amendments to churches and old buildings has me thinking he didn't visit the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church while in Berlin! While most old buildings that have stood the test of time become architecturally timeless in a sense (survivorship bias in architectural styes?), modern amendments to them won't necessarily enjoy that timelessness, especially considering the apparent Modern and Post-Modern aversion to architectural beauty. I've been in that glass Reichstag dome, you walk up a long spiral ramp then walk back down. Felt kinda pointless, but maybe that's because I was there at night. Then again, I went up the Fernsehturm at night too, that was pretty incredible, and somewhat nauseating. ---- EDIT ---- When they were talking about Time, I'm surprised they didn't talk about how it went this year. Winner of Time Person of the Year: Greta Thunberg, a young girl, clearly the walking meat-puppet of her parents, who goes around berating rich, powerful people and telling them things they all already know/agree with, which makes them feel bad, which makes them feel _good,_ because self-flagellation is SO IN right now.... vs. - Winner of the People's vote for Time Person of the Year: The Hong Kong Protesters. A group fighting for democracy against their inevitable smothering by an authoritarian regime while the rest of the world just watches on, not daring to get involved and kick off any sort of international conflict with China. Which was more worthy??? Maybe Grey can only sigh exasperatedly so much in the duration of a single podcast.
Greta Thunberg is also only the leader of a democratic movement. Remember, it is Time _person_ of the year, so if the Hong Kong Protesters got the prize it would have been awarded to one of their leaders like Joshua Wong and not to the whole movement. I was in the Reichstag dome on the hottest day of the year and got absoloutely fried up there. It was still pretty nice because I really like the architectural idea of combining old and new design.
All i saw in the peloton ad was that the actress has a very worried face. Like she was in agonizing pain but that was it. She even tweeted about it. That is it
I would’ve listened to this one earlier had i remembered that you actually do your review of Star Wars in a separate episode. I was avoiding this because i hadn’t seen it yet
We (everyone I know of and me) only takes pictures of food when they want to go through the extra trouble of making it look pretty. We don't do it regularly.

Were you good this year? If everyone was not very very naughty we might get something in the next few days. Brady can be kinda naughty some times though. Stay strong.
I don't know if I've ever disagreed with yall more than about the Notre Dame redesign. I hope they source the materials from the same place, and use the opportunity to conserve the original techniques of craftsmanship and construction.
It's also another really good demonstration of everyone's bubbles. I didn't really follow it over the year, but I don't think I've seen anyone when the first designs dropped who didn't go "Keep your effing glass roofs and spires away from my cathedral, we have 3d scans why are we even talking about designs"
I second Brady's thoughts on the bicycle advert. It's not the product that's at fault, it's the portrayal of an annoying... "Me Generation!" being fixated with social networking. More than a portrayal, it's almost a glorification of that annoyance.
Hey Grey and Brady, could you please make an email list for HI? Cause it is the only podcast I listen to and so I don't use any podcast apps, I just go to the website and download the episode. So I usually miss a new episode unless I check Twitter, UA-cam, or the official website.
The topic of "hotstoppers" and "hotdrops" comes up once in a while, I even seen Grey's video on the other channel, and still have no frigging clue what all of this is about.
Do you know the thing that stops liquid from coming out of a Starbucks coffee cup that is a hotstopper and they go places drop them off and sometimes tweet it and Tims (the viewers) come and pick it up but only 1.
I cannot believe that I knew the German Parliament building was called the Reichstag (hope I'm spelling that right) and people say learning history is useless.
I thought nothing of the Peloton ad other than "I wish to God I never see another Peloton ad". Twitter, Facebook, UA-cam, MSNBC live TV. I am a cheap fat lazy man, I am not your target audience!
I don't think the UA-cam Rewind video deserved that many dislikes, but I will say that I was tempted to dislike it immediately, simply because it felt the need to mention how poorly received the previous video was. In my opinion, they shouldn't have mentioned that at all. Not only is it starting off on the wrong foot by reminding me of something they did that I don't like, it also felt slightly passive-aggressive and confrontational, like "Oh, you didn't like what I made? I guess you should make it!"
please ignore the ad about Back Blaze... I have experience with Back Blaze and I am so sorry that I took a 5 year subscription on it (I lost my data at back blaze because it took over 3 months for it to backup my computer and it did not complete)..... no back blaze for me again.

Bundestag...The building of parlament is named after the Parlament sitting there and in turn After the Country they contribute to roule (Bundesrepublick Deutshland/Federal republc of Germany vs Reichstag, Deutsches reich/German Empire).
That's not true, while the parliament is called Bundestag, the building itself is called the Reichstagsgebäube or just Reichstag. it is also referred to as such by german authorities: www.berlin.de/sehenswuerdigkeiten/3560965-3558930-reichstag.html
I hate the idea of the glass roof on Notre Dame de Paris. I hate the glass pyramid in the Louvre. I hope all these terrible modernist glass structures are smashed.
The building is still called Reichstag though. The Bundestag uses the Reichstag building as well as some other modern buildings for its business. The Third Reich did not use the Reichstag, it burned down in the night before the election in which the NSDAP got the majority. They used the party headquarters of the NSDAP instead.

Interesting. 🤔
Might be because overcast does smart speed adjustments which take longer for it to calculate. YT might also just have bigger servers
