One of the best bands ever .Their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame performance is amazing .
This British band were formed in 1978, this song was released in 1987, and this live performance is in Hyde Park, London in July, 2018. The site is the largest park in London, in the 1500's it was the royal hunting grounds for Henry VIII. It's not a permanent venue, but over the years it has hosted many of the UK's biggest bands such as The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and Queen, for huge one-off special events.

Born in '69 the Cure were the biggest part of the soundtrack of my youth. Now I'm 53 yo and if you would ask me, which song is the greatest pop song of all time?, I'd answer "Just like heaven" even before you were finished with the question. And the greatest love song too!

Yep. The guys who brought us "New Day" also brought us this. This definitely isn't Rob Smith in his prime, but you'd never know. Sounds like the studio version.
What's amazing is how after all of these years they are able to play this song so true to the original. If I were to just hear this on the radio the way it was played in his video I would not even know it was a live performance.
Bob's music was the soundtrack to my high school years. They're very album-oriented, so every song they have is terrific. Most of it is pretty dark, though. Bob has a serious problem with depression, and uses music to work through it. "Sinking" is probably their best song, but you could make that case for most of them. Lots of fans consider "A Forest" their best.

I actually didn't like this song at first back in the 80's. Now that I've rediscovered it, I love it. Rick Beato does a nice job breaking it down and all the layering of instruments in the opening minute.
Katie Melua does a really nice slow version of this (which is played at the end of the movie Just Like Heaven). I enjoy listening to both versions back to back . . . choose your own order.

A beautiful poetic love song with a little sad twist which is quintessential The Cure :-)
I was at the their concert late last year and they are still so good and performed for 2:45 hours after which Robert Smith was wandering over the stage reluctant to leave the love and cheers coming from the audience.
First venture into the Cure for me was the album Faith all the way back in the day. They are truly timeless. Never thought that would be possible dancing to Standing On he Beach while on the beach.
If someone did already said it, sorry. The venue is "Hyde Park", a huge park in the middle of London.

Hey Britt, this reaction popped up when I was searching The Cure reactions, bit late to the party but love that you enjoyed this. As some have said, it's their 40 year anniversary show in 2018. It's a great park in London, I've seen Pink, Roger Waters, Killers and Live8 there. The Cure have some of the most beautiful and catchy song intros you'll ever hear, this is a stonker! You can't miss with this band, a proper British iconic indy/rock band!

You wanna see a cool live show, watch U2 Live at Red Rocks. It's a venue on the side of a mountain in Denver.
During the song New Years Day, there is a line,. Under a blood red sky... It was raining during the concert and at the time they got to that line, the sunset was causing the clouds to glow red. Bono, the lead singer, gestured to the sky as he sang the lines. An amazing scene.
You would have adored living in the 80’s. If you like long instrumental intros you will enjoy the Cure. Check the intros on fascination street, prayers for rain, and plainsong.

The Cure is more than one of my favorite bands. The Cure is my adolescence. When I was awkward and felt totally alone in my weirdness, their music was my anchor. I wonder how many people realized that this is the music that the carousel was playing in the series the last of us, only it was slowed down. I stopped it and listened twice and thought first, wait I know that tune and then, how cool is that? they have The Cure just like heaven playing in the carousel!!!
