  • ASMR sounds version, surviving a crazy record breaking arctic storm, with heavy rain, thunder, lightning and heavy winds. ASMR sounds for relaxation, sleep, study, anxiety relief. No talking.
3 days Arctic Backpacking & Solo Camping in a Heavy Rain, Lightning, Severe Thunderstorms & Heavy Wind, Scariest Storm Camping experience of my life! ASMR and Rain Sounds.
The closest town measured a record breaking rainfall of 36.4 mm in one hour, which is an all time high record for the northern half of the country. This happened sometime around my dinner time.
This was my scariest storm camping experience so far. I was above the polar circle in the arctic at 70.5° North, alone 35 km into the wilderness, when one of the most brutal thunder and lightning storms I have ever experienced hit me. It lastet for over 12 hours and had some of the most scary thunder and lightning I have seen. It felt like I was getting hit right on the head. I did manage to capture some great footage of the lightning though. This is the furthest north and most remote place I have ever backpacked in a very wild and cool area. I obviously survived so enjoy the storm!
    AMSR version
    70.5°north
560km/349miles north of the polar circle
    Roughly as far north as:
    Wainwright - Alaska - USA
    Ulukhatok - Canada
    550km/342miles further north than Iceland

    👋Hi Norwegian Xplorer!
Another wonderful video, to relax & enjoy my friend.
I'm so behind with your 3 latest videos, as I was away & just returned home.
As always, such a wonderful video, full of intrigue & excitement, albeit, my hats off to you, for doing what you do, because I imagine many wouldn't be so brave to weather such storms!
When out amid Mother Nature & her immense, relentless & "no mercy" power, we're very vulnerable, but you always appear to tackle it beautifully.
A hot beverage always goes down well in such weather.
It looked so dark & threatening outside, but so very amazing to see during this storm.
Tusen takk for sharing & I wish you well.🙏

I would not survive it. The anxiety would paralyse me, perhaps kill me by a heart-attack. In this infinite absolute desolation. Total absence of every human being. The elements dechained. Lightning through the sky, thunder growling, wind howling.. .. How can you sleep in such conditions !? I am an elderly person. But you Jarl, you are a professional experienced man.... You came through all of it. Valiantly. Thanks for showing it us.

I love the sound of rain hitting your tent and I love to hear the wind hitting it, too. But I thought the lighting was a bit to close for me. 😮 wow. It would be better, at least for me, is to not be by myself. To have someone to share the anxiety with. Lol. It did look very close. I’m so glad there are people out there who like to camp in bad weather. I’m to old to do it anymore, but I love that you share your trips with people who love going along with you. It means a lot. Thank you.🙋🏻‍♀️✨🦋

It's not the rain, nor the thunder for me. It's thevery good odds of getting struck by lightning that would deter me from camping outdoors in this weather.

Early on, I was wondering why you weren't using your Trekker chair for back support?
I chuckled when I saw you licking the spork after stirring your meal at the beginning of the re-hydration process. Waste not, want not.😇
Why aren't you turning the food pouch inside out after finishing the meal & licking it. Waste not, want not. 😇 Just teasing!.
Gotta love the 5,000 mm hydrostatic head of the Soulo's outer material.
21:15 - I noticed big heavy rocks on top of the tent stakes. Sure don't want tent stakes being pulled out of the ground in rainy gusty windy weather.
    Sleeping bag, which brand/model?
I remember that leak from the other version. Have you seam sealed it by now?

Really good vid. The lightning is scary I don't care how tough one is. I will get you. The Hilleberg held up well. Sure it won't be hard to put up as it was stretched pretty good. Broken in now. I've stayed a fair amount above the Circle in Alaska and Canada. The thing that really concerns me is just how fast that rain storm can turn to sleet and freezing rain. At the rate of an inch and a half an hour it would pile drive a tent relatively bad. Huddle and hold on. Take care Jarl. Spring is coming. Sure you have some great adventures planned.

I love these rain trips you take us on! But I must say the lightning was scary. The words Russian Roulette came to my mind as I watched you in your tent. And all you had to see was the electrical light’s first, then wonder how close the next strike would be. Kind of chilling. I’m so glad you didn’t get struck! Another thing that wasn’t so pleasant was the leakage of water coming into the tent. Is it time for a new tent? Be safe out there NorX!!!
