If anyone comes across this at this point he installs all of the parts correctly but he rotated the plunger the wrong way when installing the bracket. You turn it counter clockwise to have it correct. He turned it clockwise. Turn it counterclockwise till the bracket can go with the ear towards the ground, and the slot in the plunger is parallel to the ground on the underside of the center point like he shows in the video.
Thanks! I added to the description years back to explain this, but obviously not everyone will see the description. So hopefully they see your comment and avoid my mistake. :)
I istalled a Cobb reverse lockout and somehow messed up and now I can go into reverse. I hit the clutch while installing with the pin with an Allen wrench underneath the car holding the cable up higher so I broke something. Any idea how much something like this in the video is going run with labor about?
Hey man, my 07 sit 6 speed trans was having the same issue as yours. It would go into reverse without the reverse lockout. And now my car wont go into reverse at all. If you try to put it in reverse and slowly let the clutch out with holding pressure on the sifter it just pops out and grinds. This to me sounds like the reverse synchro? I just changed the trans fluid about a week ago with amsoil 75w-90. Any ideas?

You installed the spring backwards. Just a heads up the check should be tight to the case so when the reverse cable is hooked up it pulls it up

Awesome video. Only one like it on UA-cam. Have part numbers by chance?
Man, I would totally pay you to fix my reverse lockout because I am having the exact same problem with my 2016 Subaru sti

Where did the original pin go? I just took one apart and same thing the check pin is missing
Not sure. I got mine used from someone who had already replaced the rear housing for some reason. I'm assuming he just screwed up during re-assembly.

WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO IN YOUR CASE?
This also happened to me? How did you fix this?
@@abestarr9278 I ended up selling the car as is. The new owner had the transmission pulled out and it ended up being a synchro in the reverse assembly
