- A story about our latest micro-hydro power plant in Bali, Indonesia!
The turbine supplies 13 kW of energy to the Green School, the world-famous sustainable school located next to the Ayung River in Bali. The turbine supplies up to 80% of the school's energy need. More than seven hundred students, teachers and staff can now benefit from clean and reliable energy from the river. - Наука та технологія
This is the only channel that is my number one on my favorites list. I am keeping it because I believe this system can change the world. Thank you..
Projects like this restore my faith in humanity and gives me hope of a bright future!
Brilliant well done, what an excellent form of power generation.
Such an amazing idea for places that don´t need the energy of an entire city, but just a bit of it and yet can´t access it.
Great job 👍
Thank you sir 🙏
Its so satisifing to watch and know its being used to power the world.
I like it. Help us the people of paitan, Beluran Sandakan Sabah need a light. We welcome your team to make it dream come true.
happy to hear whitewater sports aren't affected :)
So I guess you shrink the river near the turbine to the width of the raft with minimal depth so it can pass without stopping.
Лайк однозначно! Давно не было ваших видео, с ворзвращением!
I love this, I hope to install these in my area, we have many rivers here.
Where is it?

Wonderful.
Good job 🏆️
What is the flow rate of the river @13kW?
Alright, I understand ROI wand what not, but I'm interested in off grid. Does thing cost less than 50k installed or is hundreds of thousands of dollar USD?
Why did you take it off the grid during the flood?
too much electricity generated perhaps
I wish I had a river nearby so I could use this to power my house. Is it cheaper than a whole-home solar installation? I could probably do some of the installation work myself. I’m currently looking into geothermal. I wonder if you could drill down and install something like this to be powered by underground water flows, or is that too slow?
From their website it looks like most of their models break even in about 4 years.
Would you give specific cost to install this. Without transportion, taxes and other. Just want to know, how much for single working turbulent? I mean the generator turbine. I hope you understand and sorry for my bad english.
I wonder it can anti rocks and trash ?
awesome video
The * only * thing I'd add is addressing that risk of someone (or some curious animal) falling in... Maybe just add a mesh screen on top (? )
What we need is a scaled down version for small streams and 1-3 homes power usage, please.
You ask, and we'll deliver. 2-3kW size can be arranged. Fully portable and with minimal construction.
@@TurbulentHydro 😯 what flow/drop does it require and how do we figure out how much $ I need to save up? You really ought to advertise this availability.
Hi turbolent, i am from bali, tabanan, how much $ for that project in green school? Thanks
How many Kw output for this project ???
Can I have one of these in my back garden?
If you have a river or canal with 1,5 to 5 meters height difference, why not? ;)

I wrote to you sometime last year in December, using contacts from your website. I am based in Zimbabwe's sugarcane farming region. I really want to introduce the turbulent hydro to this part of the world, however I did not get any further correspondences after your website administrator confirmed receipt of my email and promised to get back to me in just 24 hours. Please kindly provide me sales contact info
@@knowledgetnherera3854 Sorry to hear about this, have you checked your spam folder? Normally if you have also provided us with a picture during the application form we will be able to assess the viability of your project!
We've seen in some cases that our customers have received a reply but somehow got lost with all new incoming emails in their accounts.
Right now we are not locally active in Zimbabwe, but as as soon are we have a suitable solution for your project we will contact you. Also, if you prefer you can submit more details of your project at any time. If you are using the same email, you don't need to fill in every from scratch but only the updated data.
@@TurbulentHydro Thank you very much for your response. I will send pictures through email
I'm very keen in having one that produce 10-55Kw of energy. I live in Canada and taking to account our brutal winter is it visible in this part of the world?
Hi Isaac, rivers can freeze over at the surface. However, a completely frozen river happens very rarely in most places. During this time there is no water flow, so also no energy. The same with a complete dry river. The turbine keeps working without problem until the flow is lower than 20% of its optimal design flow.
We've seen lots of interest from Canada for our micro hydro solutions and we hope to be there very soon. Canada's hydro potential is frankly huge!
Our customer John Hardy, co-founder of the Green School Bali is also a Canadian which is why when he saw the river nearby the school, he immediately saw power. However, it could not be harnessed with traditional hydro solutions.
@@TurbulentHydro Thank for your prompt reply. Actually I live in the province of Quebec and the river that I have flow into a ok lake which at the moment is still flowing under but the top is frozen as stone. What are the necessary steps to acquire one turbine?
@@isaacabrahamson2204the first step would be to have an estimation of the height difference of the site you have in mind and the flow. We will also need pictures later on that shows clearly the drop on the river. With this information we can have a an initial pre-feasibility check of your project.
In our website you can find an Easy Measurement manual www.turbulent.be/downloads. Once you have this information you can contact us through our website.
I live in a hill area and here's lots of sites which are suitable for this technology. If I had a canal with 4ft width x 2ft Height and had apx. 5 mtr. Fall, then how much power this could produce...??
Taking an average velocity of 1 to 1.5m/s you can get 18 to 27kW.
@@TurbulentHydro Thanks for The reply. how much total cost for 25kw plant including civil work.....?
Is it can be used in Norway? At -20°C?
Instalation procedures and details please
Me again. I note it supplies 80% of your needs, do you have batteries to store the power?
Ack, put some safety railing around the top of that thing!
meat grinder LOL
Hi John Watson here. Why does the river have to drop 1 and a half meters? 3.20 in. Nice job. JW
The vertical drop gives the energy that turns the turbine. It's the same with all hydropower setups; you have a higher head of water and you discharge at a lower elevation.
The available power is the flow rate of water multiplied by the vertical change.
Hi guys. I am from nepal we have a fast flowing river in my village and i want to power my village . How much does this project cost and how many kilowatts of energy can be produced by it.
Thank you
Hi I am from Nepal too, one turbine can produce 13-15 Kw per day, if 66 of these(15kw) are installed It can generate about 1 Mw . It means 1Mw can supply around 650 average houses. If it is rural house then even more houses can be lit up.
Where can i buy this thing...i want to have it one for my village
Nice
How much the cost it will be
Give me the capacity and the price this system.
😊
Nice ☺️
❤️&✌️
Buenas noches donde puedo comprar el equipo turbulent yo no cuento con energía eléctrica y es muy necesaria pero si tengo un río Serca de mi casa espero respuesta gracias
nice video
☀️💐☀️
@TurbulentHydro I am a Canadian engineer/Inventor. I have a modular hydraulic lifting device that would enable you to build these anywhere without the need of a river. Is there somewhere I can contact you folks directly?
I am from India, Can you give the details for same.
I am looking forward to using your equipment in China. Can you visit and study at your company?
1:53 This comparison doesn't really make sens: How many available spot do you have to install this vortex ? A really tiny amount in comparison to solar pv. No need to make such comparison, every energy source has its advantage.
In fact, the potential is huge. We've identified 350,000 sites in Europe only with small height differences between 1,5 to 5 meters. Countries like Nepal could be fully powered with micro hydropower!
In this particular case, a solar project of such dimensions to produce the same amount of energy as our turbine was simply not feasible for the Green School due to the space. However, both the vortex turbine and solar PV are working together, providing the Green School with about 80% and 20% correspondingly of green energy!
If we want your turbine instal in papua... how we can buy your turbine product...and how much the cost and where we can buy pls advice
Easy, you can go to our website and contact us through our form. Pricing can be found here: www.turbulent.be/pricing
I want one of this. I have a Waterfall in my farm, could you help me ?
The problem with solar and wind is that they have a negative environmental impact( taking up space and killing birds), need subsidies, and are very brittle. The last part is frequently over looked. In both Puerto Rico and Japan entire solar farms were wiped out by bad weather. In the Midwest of America thunderstorms and tornado alley destroy windmills.
Hydro, gas and nuclear are still the top three.
Hi turbulent, i'm interest to learn about this, can i join ypur team in indonesia?
Do you make it? Can you give me the contact?
Hmm...so the video says that on a single turbine the school gets 80% of its needed power....so why not just install two turbines and have 60% more power than needed....then they can have headspace for future improvements and the like.
Amazing project....
I want to work on this project
can u give me opportunity to work in this....
Nesesito una para mexico
boleh saya berkerjasama untuk membangun powerplant di daerah saya...saya di medan, di desa cinta rakyat
Can I have one of this in Iraq country ?please let me.
As long as HAARP is not used to disrupt the rainfall pattern.
pssssh I can make about 15Kw with my diesel generator. And my generator is wayyy more efficient!!
