- INTRIGUE 1947 American film noir crime film directed by Edwin L. Marin and starring George Raft, June Havoc, and Helena Carter. Tom Tully, Marvin Miller, and Dan Seymour. Brad Dunham (George Raft) along with three other flyers during World War II were court-martialed accused of black market activity. The unjust shame has taken its toll, and Brad's three friends have died, including one by suicide. Journalist Marc Andrews (Tom Tully and one of the dead pilot's sisters (Helena Carter) are seeking to find the truth. Intrigue was intended to be the first of a number of films Raft made, with producer Sam Bischoff, for his own production company, Star Films. It was one of several movies Raft made with Marin.

So nice to see such a swell movie. I was alive in 47, but to young to see this film and the wonderful actors perform. I can see now what swell actors they were and the wonderful time that it was. So happy I stopped by.
I am glad you stopped by too.
He is a great actor, I enjoyed all of the movies I've seen so far.
Excellent forgotten film noir. Brilliant cast.
Glad you liked it. A lot of Raft's films are forgotten since they are never on TCM. That's why I made this channel!👍
Great movie. Raft could do it all. Thank you
Super!😊
I just love handsome, sexy George Raft in anything. This was definitely an exciting and 'intriguing' film.

the fabulous June Havoc
Watching two George Raft movies, back-to-back confuses me (mu mixin-&-matching pieces). 🤭
wonderf film ! thsnk you!
That's a great opening still of George...thanks for this upload! Will make it my Saturday movie night!
He aged so well..
One wonders if Valentino would have aged as well..
Not sure he would have...or could have considering he had syphilis from age 15 and had to take mercury injections to stave off recurrences as he never had the arsenic-based cure available at the time (possibly damaging to his eyes, one already damaged from the disease.) Raft was a real survivor and weathered his stormy life with a lot of resilience.
I really don't know it's possible since they both had Italian genes but I do know George aged better than most. Let me know how you liked the movie.
@@hollywood-thegoldenage5310 Hi, I liked it but I felt it was almost 2 movies...the first part, very tight, then came the "kids and the romance." The development of any believable romance between the characters was not strong. And at the end, we see Raft and the cops and then suddenly he's out with the "girlfriend" running to him. It happened so fast I actually rewound it to make sure I hadn't missed anything!
I think this was the first project out of Raft's own production company (Star).
@@secretariatgirl4249 Yes it is I have that in the description above. Always read my description I say some interesting points in them.
@@hollywood-thegoldenage5310 I do, but I missed it...I'm overtired as the seasons change...Sigh....no energy at all...
@@secretariatgirl4249 You will get used to it. :-)
Truman and his crowd lost china
George Raft really could play any role. Great movie! Will share it to movie groups. Raft 100% better that Bogart.
Agreed. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks that. Love Raft!!!
George Raft was a great actor
Bogart was a fantastic screen presence, much better than Raft. Much as I've enjoyed some of Raft's movies he generally has as much life as a plank of wood. Bogart though, Treasure of the Sierra Madre anyone? The Maltese Falcon? The Big Sleep? The African Queen, etc etc.
@@nickpemberton543Bogie couldn't dance
I have seen many movies of both Humphrey Bogart and George Raft and the African Queen will tell one and all who is the great actor. Sorry George...you were a fantastic dancer and a wooden actor.
Bogart thanked George Raft for his career
Thank you for another great George Raft movie 🍿
You have made a wonderful choice to offer us this weekend 💙💚🔍🔓📮🪔
I am so glad you liked my choice and Mr. Raft's movies.
PLEASE show " Golden Earrings " with Marlene Dietrich & Ray Miland. !..& any Van Johnson especially noir" & ESTHER Williams !!
..💚
Natalie attired Raft wearing the urban sombrero
Biden should pay you to buy a rickyshaw, zero emissions except for occasional fart from boy
June Havoc strongly resembles Catherine Deneauve.
If it wasn't for Cagney, Raft would have lasted longer.. He was great.
I don't think he had anyone to blame but himself, he made some poor choices in his career, turned down roles in good films such as Maltese Falcon. Both James Cagney & Humphrey Bogart had a better screen presence.
I loved the kids in this movie. ❤poor things.😢
03:39. That's a truly piss poor map George is attempting to navigate his twin-engine shot-up airplane with!
Not even an aeronautical map or chart. Lacking all essential details.
George was made for these movies. Cool cool and soo sexy..Satisfied? Not yet !
Indeed and much, much better than Bogart!
@@edgardolopez1862 No he wasn't!
