The best way to laugh. Simple , plain humor. This came out before I was born and yet, timeless. Probably a little risqué at the time it came out. Time out of Time, something many of us enjoy to lighten our hearts in these tumultuous times 73 years later. Thank you Pizza Flix 🍕 😘 you know how to do it right!!
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you. 🍕🍕🍕
risque today but merely typical back in 1947.
😂😂😂😂
🍑
A little risqué? In 1947?? After everyone had gone through WWII you expect them to be naïve and childlike?
I know a poodle in Maine 🤣 Good Movie 🎬
Oh where, oh where has my little dog gone, oh where oh where can he be.
What a cute doggo! 🥰
Loved seeing Marie Wilson from “My Friend Irma”. Great comedy short.
Love these old movies , they were entertaining good clean movies without violence & everyone was always well dressed in the era my goodness hasn’t society gone down hill now . These movies are suitable for all ages not many movies of today can you sit with your family & watch a movie together, without having to worry what will come on , we really have lost a lot & class doesn’t exist now days dose it ? Thank you 😊
I'm sorry your experiences have been so negative.
Rita Montesalvo...you are absolutely correct. The caliber of people and film making are not even the same. The most recent film which I saw at the AMC theater was Downtown Abbey: A New Era. The only reason it was a good film and story is because it was a period piece set in 1929-30. Costumes and acting were great. I do recommend.
It's people like you who post these old films, that make the world a better place. Especially in these trying and horrific times. Thank you so much 😊💜
And of course I’m grateful to people like you who watch them. ❤️🍕❤️🍕🫠
Thank you 😊
i love old films like this. Pizza is the greatest!
I love all these early Fred Armisen movies! ❤
Thiis movie is very well written. The pacing and timing is perfect. The jokes are hidden and clever. Old Hollywood at its best!

so true
Good one! When comedy did not involve a vulgarity every other word!
Great movie, and a very well trained dog. All you dog lovers will enjoy this!! Well written, love the old classic movies.
Terrific movie its my second time watching it don't some Of you people only wished you had a talking dog 😂maybe not😐 we'll probably get in trouble over it also sent to the cuckoo house😛
5 stars for the film n Joe
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thanks PizzaFlix
my grandfather was friends with Harold Lloyd through a mutual interest in Great Dane dogs. Harold Lloyd was also an avid photographer and published several books including some in 3D!
Never heard of this movie, but great stuff. A talking dog that gets the last line in a very humorous fanciful tale from Hal Roach.
TY FOR OLD FASHIONED FUNNY. CUTE DOG. 🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦
Precious!!! Thanks awfully, guys. Good job, weight watchers, for keeping tabs on Milo's diet, Walter Abel lived to be 89!
The dog is incredibly trained. Really enjoyed watching him. Thank you!
Fun, very entertaining movie! I was born in 1948, so I just missed this! lol They don't make movies/tv shows with talking dogs or horses i.e. the iconic "Mr Ed" anymore! Long live the Golden Age of Hollywood, the 1920s,30s, 40s and 50s, one of my favorite eras esp fashion wise which influenced my career as a former retired NYC fashion illustrator. Thank you PizzaFix!
this was so cute. Your right they just don't make em like this anymore!
I enjoyed seeing Marie Wilson in this film. She was soon to be cast as Irma in the My Friend Irma radio series and films.😊😊😊
The dog talks and laundry chute pratfalls, what more could I need?
What a cute movie! Laughing is good for everyone!
The lovable Joe!
...Are you married?" Married, me? HAHAHAHAHAHA! Yes, I am?! Great line. Loved this film!
Probably the third time I said wtf? out loud.
That was an ADORABLE MOVIE 🍿 🎥 I WISH I COULD WATCH MORE LIKE THIS
I just love that adorable dog 😁
I love dogs / cats better than people . 🐶😸
@@maritzaagosto1793 I too sir
Thank you, Thank you , THANK you for this movie!!!!
Very cute! Just entertainment.
Adorable.
Loved this silly movie. And the cast was great especially Joe!
You got a thumbs up at 2 minutes, Nice lesson!
The "Bogart" gag had me wondering if Woody Allen got a spark of an idea from this movie and eventually wound up with Play It Again Sam...
Wonderful and light-hearted movie which I thoroughly enjoyed
Love Joe!
Darling story! Need more like this in this upside-down world of 2022. Thanks so much!
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you. 🍕🍕🍕
This is adorable and funny. I talk to my doggy every day. She’s my buddy and I can relate to this story 🤣🤣🤣 TFS 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
My cat rarely mewed. He'd rather fuss at me, and I really don't know why or where that came from. LOL
Me too My best friend is my fur baby Baxter. He snuggles close to me because he loves me, no matter what and he listens to me complain and sympathy’s with me, and when I leave to go somewhere, when I return he meets the car half way up the road and follows the car until it stops and he can hop up into the car and lick my face in greeting. 😋😋😋🐶🐶🐶However, there’s a down size to this too. He watches and the minute he knows that I won’t be back for a little while, he goes tearing back into our bedroom and turns the waste paper basket and starts messing around in it for some to eat or to lick. And some of the things he finds are really yucky 🤢. He definitely knows that this is a no no, so he knows this is a great opportunity. I can see him standing in the door watching me leave and I know exactly what he’ll do and exactly what I’ll find I’ll find when I get home. 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐕🦺🐕🦺🐕🦺🐕🦺

Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you.
I expected this to be corny and unrelatable but I was so wrong! I laughed out loud and thoroughly enjoyed this playful comedy. Walter Abel is superb, and the dog is adorable and quite a character. Thank you so much for posting this gem!
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you. 🍕🍕🍕

I'm kind of stuck in the 1940s and loving it I just subscribed to your channel I really enjoyed this movie it was really cute and I loved the q&a you did before the movie
Thanks for joining PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you.
I'm glad that irresponsible George got what he deserved ( 2x ) . As I do believe that poor Milo has got the message ... he still has his very best friend, the dog . A pretty good DOG GONE film . 🐕❤️😉🌟
The actor walking the dog to the tavern played as Corliss Archer's father in Kiss and Tell.
Wonderfully. I loved it. Thank u pizzaflix.!!!!
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you.
This was great! ThxPizzaFlix...you’re my go to.
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you. 🍕🍕🍕
Awwww Joe is so cute
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE. 😘
Loved all these !wish someone would bring this genre back.
Worth Watching
Great little film - extremely enjoyable. Thanks for putting it on! It's amazing how, some things then, taken as 'different' or 'odd', are looked on now as just plain normal - as they should be in this case. For instance, considering a pet as much more than that, but as a lifesaver or life changer! Awesome!
Cinecolor is very subtle… good fun.
And it doesn’t hold up well. It was a 2-color process used mostly by the US Army during WWII. After the war, it was picked up cheap and used by the smaller studios.
Love it !!! 👍👍
That was good [true love] both ways, that was the cutest dog
Enjoyed this one!
Thoroughly enjoyed! More and more I find myself turning to classic movies like this rather than the "woke" garbage being put out nowadays. Love your channel! 🙂
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you. 🍕🍕🍕🌶

20:56 Grrrrreat special effects!
Best entertainment since NBA over😀 I wanted to look at the Draft and couldn't change the Chnl😎🤣
PizzaFlix Thank you for this adorable yarn. The dog steals the show of course. Fun movie, and I Roccomend it.
Was he going crazy or could the dog really talk … we may never know 😅🤷🏽♀️😅
This was a priceless movie..just loved it .laughed all the way through. 👍👍
Thank you so very much, PizzaFlix, for sharing this little treasure!
And especially, for not colorizing it.
Classics should always be presented as they were originally presented, whether black and white, sepia, or color, movie or still.
I always loved 'offbeat' movies like this, with a 'Joe' or a 'Rhubarb'.
I was born 2 years after this movie came out, and I'd only seen it before on The Early Show, and The Late Show; looong-ago tv shows featuring older movies.
Thank you again!

My sister once had a parakeet she named Gordon and she taught him to talk. He talked so clearly that anyone could understand what he was saying. She taught him to say Birds can’t talk. My name’s Gordon and I’m a bird. Also, sweet bird gimme a kiss 💋 pin up the biddies, he was quite a character. I remember one time when my sister’s neighbor went on vacation and she left her parakeet for my sister to keep while she was gone. Both birds had the run of the house. They had cages but the cages were left open during the day. The neighbors bird was on the curtain rod in the kitchen and Gordon was chasing it across the curtain rod saying sweet bird, come here, gimme a kiss 🐤. Of course, he didn’t know what he was saying but it was so funny 😂 😅
Wow. The blonde lady who played Gorgeous was absolutely stacked and smoking! ...Hubba. Hubba. LOL.
Keep showing more of this kind of crazy and fun movies! You've got my vote!
Now this was unexpected, but good. Ahead of its time definitely but even more enjoyable now. Maybe this was the inspiration for Francis ,( with an i ), the talking mule.... or did this come after Francis,( with an i )
Francis (with an i) the talking mule came out in 1950.
@@mw54470 but the novel it was based on came out in 1946, so it could have been an influence.
💖 ~ 👌 🐴 Francis = male & Frances = female ... sooo we know the talking mule was a boy (Grandpa was a French Canadian, so Grandma named my mom, Frances, cuz of her French blood; & mom 'splained the i & e factors to me) ... short story long - lol.👍✌🤙

Has anyone who has enjoyed this movie seen “Rhubarb”? It’s about a cat who inherits a MLB team. It’s really cute.
Great entertainment. Thank you.
Great movie with good laughs. Thanks for the show. Jp from Indiana...
thank you Pizza Flix!
thank you very much, you are great, is very nice that you talking about the films, God take care you
Who ever trained Joe was a genius. I couldn’t even get my Baxter baby to fetch back to me. He would go get it but only bring it back a little way back. So see, he had trained me instead of the other way around. He had trained me to fetch. He died about 6 months ago and I sure miss the little guy. 🐶🐶🐶His real name was Baxter but he barked so much at every little thing that he saw or heard that I often called him Sir Barksalot. He barked when he heard my stomach growl 🐯 and he’d bark when the doorbell rang in the movie 🍿 that I was watching. 😅😅😅😅
Thanks for the introduction!
Hi, Julie. Thanks the encouragement. 🍕🍕🍕

An adorable movie!😊
I live with a furry friend who's very much a Joe. He knows me better than I know myself!
Thanks for this. I've never seen the Screenliners before. I wonder if this film still exists in Cinecolor?
There's a clip on UA-cam. I don't know if it survives in full.
I really like these old comedy 🎭 movies 🍿. There very 🆙 lifting. 😅😅😅😅😊😊😊 13:55
