You and Me 1938 Film Noir George Raft and Sylvia Sydney Directed by Fritz Lang

Not a typical film noir, it is quite a bit odd, something you don't usually see in most film noirs. It certainly has more of a trademark German expressionist look. It’s a part romantic comedy, part Depression-era drama, part Kurt Weill musical and part illustrated lecture that “Crime Does Not Pay.” George Raft, a big star of the era who is often unfairly maligned by contemporary critics, gives ...

The name of this movie is 'Intrigue' 1947. But the word 'intriguing' could be applied to Helena Carter as well. This was the third movie she made but with her talent, exposure and beauty, she was on a rocket ship to leading lady stardom. But it was not to be. Contract frustrations with the studios drove her to divorce her first husband and remarry her way out of the business in 1953, after only 13 movies.

IN THIS DAY AND AGE. SOME PEOPLE STILL BELIVE IN THE SCRIPTURES OF THE OLD TESTAMENT. A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH. AND ALL THE REST OF THOSES VERSES. NOT KNOWING THAT JESUS CHRIST CAME TO CHANGE ALL THAT!! THAT'S WHY HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR ALL OF US HUMANS!! THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE DIVIDER BETWEEN A FRESH START OR BEING STUCK IN THE SAME ROT AND FEELING GUILTY! THE OLD TESTAMENT IS GOOD TO READ AS A HISTORY BOOK! BECAUSE ITS A HOLY BOOK. BUT HERE AND NOW THE NEW TESTAMENT IS THE WAY TO LIVE!! BELIVING IN JESUS CHRIST AND WHAT HE DID FOR US ALL HUMANS!! THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST IS POWERFUL. AND THE NEW TESTAMENT IS A WHOLE NEW WORLD. THAT WHY WE CALL IT THE GOOD NEWS. ( THE NEW TESTAMENT)) THE NEW TESTAMENT IS SOMETHING THAT CHANGES THE HUMAN BEINGS , THAT WANT TO CHANGE! AND NEED A GOOD CHANGE!! BECAUSE THE NEW TESTAMENT TELL US THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH! AND THOSE THAT DON'T BELIVE AND TURN THEY SUFFER AND DIE PREMATURELY.

Top notch cast, with a great director, working with an insightful story that examines the spectrum of greed, avarice, morality, and the power of rehabilitation of the human spirit. A parable of the "second chance" and most likely a welcome message to an audience of the depressing 1930s. Thank you for sharing.

Got her hair right in the final scenes. What a dress! I haven't seen any dress that spectacular in any movie of any era! And it would never look better on anyone else. George was a great dancer, in his own view, not as good as Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire, but perhaps even better than them in emotional expression and sensuality
